Brooke Burke Charvet: Production Still Working Out Details For One Night Of Week Of DWTS
Oh, I was hoping when learning Brooke Burke Charvet was on KTLA this morning, she’d mention some teasers about Dancing With The Stars, but, she didn’t for the most part. All that Brooke mentioned is how excited she is for the new season and thinks it will be fun. She also said she has no idea who will be in the new cast. When they mention three names as rumors (John Stamos, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Abby Lee Miller), she seemed really excited about the first two and said “could be” and smiled to Abby Lee (scary, no just no). Brooke also mentions that she thinks one show a week will give the show longevity and that production is still working out the details. Brooke also plugs Sketchers and how for every pair you buy, another pair will be given to someone needy in the world. She discusses her cancer too and how she is cancer free now….
Please, please, pleaseeeeeeeee no to Abby Lee Miller. She puts such a bad name on the dance world and what it’s like to grow up in the competition circuit. Also, Derek and Mark (and I’m sure others) have said not so nice things about her and Dance Moms publicly…so that would lead to an awkward season!
Just realized that I missed the post about her earlier in the week! Going over there now 🙂
Yeah, be sure to check out that post too if you haven’t yet. lol and I agree.
Brooke described DWTS perfectly… Infectious!!!
I think if I had to choose between the 2 BIG names of John Stamos or Jamie Lee Curtis. I would have to go with Jamie Lee. She is the daughter of television royalties, (adhere to older crowd as well) but is very likeable, add that touch of quirky, yet fun and serious as well. All the qualities needed for this show.
The “one show per week,” Monday only, concept is so bad they have everyone, from ABC President Paul Lee, to BBC Producer Conrad Green, to Tom Bergeron, Brooke Burke, and all of the pros out pitching the concept as “good” any time they talk about the show. As Shakespeare said, “surely thou dost protest too much.” Every time they have messed with the original, basic concept of the program the ratings have dropped. They should get a clue. We like the show as is, without all of their wiz-bang changes and “improvements.” Even a half hour results show would have been better than no results show at all!
Paula, what do you expect people associated with DWTS to say about the new format, that it “sucks”? Not only is it their job to be cheerleaders for the show, for those who earn their pay by doing DWTS, it’s in their best interest as well. Savvy employees do not talk negatively about their employer in public.
Something I just thought of: Is it possivle to refuse a partner? Say TPTB wanted to pair Abby Lee with Mark for drama, because of his Anti Abby Twitter Rant. Could he say No I don’t want to work with her? Can a pro be told, Take this partner or your not on this season? Can Abby say Ok I’ll fo it as long as Im not with these pros? And, do you think Tristan could end up as Abby’s partner, if she does end up dancing? Sorry, but Brooke’s “Could be” is scaring me a little. Couldn’t help but think about who she could be paired with.
Isn’t that kinda what happened with Edtya?
True Melissa….and I’ve wondered if that’s what happened with Maks last season.
OK, ya’ll are making me nervous. My thoughts immediately turned to Tristan, too, when this nasty woman’s name surfaced. If TPTB are stupid enough to cast her, they could well decide a calm, patient pro like Tristan is the right match. If that happens, I hope he’d say “no”, but can he afford to turn down the paycheck and possibly burn his bridges for future seasons? Probably not.
I find it interesting that she said the show will be longer! I’m getting excited!! Hurry up September 4th
@Cidra, I’m freaking out a little with the possibility of that woman being paired with Tristan! No, no, no! Oh, please, DWTS! Please, have mercy on your audience and Tristan! He deserves better!
Nobleze, can you imagine going from sweet, teachable, hard-working, courageous Dorothy to the likes of this obnoxious, lazy, know-it-all? I don’t know how he’d stand it. What I do know is I couldn’t vote for them (I’d want her off my TV screen and him out of his misery ASAP).
