Shows Wrapping Up For DWTS Pros In Ballroom With A Twist And Forever Tango (Videos, Photos)
What a summer it’s been for the run of “Ballroom With A Twist” and “Forever Tango”. It seems these two shows have never been more popular as fans every where went to see their favorite pros from Dancing With The Stars take to the stage. Broadway World has a little ending promo article posted today for Forever Tango raving about Karina and Maks.
Originally scheduled to appear for three weeks only, the couple previously announced a two-week extension after their triumphant opening night. Entertainment Weekly raved about their performance in Forever Tango, saying, “Dancing with the Stars (and formerly engaged) pair Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff perform to rapturous cheers from the crowd. The couple is, in a word, dazzling. Smirnoff glides beautifully, and Chmerkovskiy shakes his hips (and his booty) with such skill, it’s clear he was born with the talent.”
Here are a couple of videos from the show that you might not have seen before as well….
As for Ballroom with a Twist, don’t miss visiting their Official Facebook when you get a moment. There is a steamy new picture of Val and Peta on stage (I’ve always loved these two when they dance together.). Be sure you see the “Recent Posts” section by fans too for more even more pics of Val, Peta, and Tristan.
Tristan MacManus fans page also has some fun photos of the cast greeting fans and taking pictures backstage.
Peta also tweeted out this instagram of her herself doing the splits on stage with background lights. It’s captioned, “My love… My Art… My life… The stage will always be where I feel most powerful.” Beautiful and it about sums it all up for how our busy pros must feel right now after the dancing summer they’ve had!!
UPDATE: Check Ballroom With A Twist Official Facebook again. They’ve added even more new pics. Thanks to Elmari for the heads up!!
It’s such an awesome accomplishment for both Maks and Karina to be a part of not only one but two broadway shows (especially as headliners). I’m glad they put their past behind them and have built up a new friendship.
I’m glad Forever Tango did great 🙂 Too bad I wasn’t able to see it live though.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Vogue. Almost as good as being there. We get to see so little of the professionals on DWTS, and this was such a treat..everybody dancing on the same level. Wasn’t around when Maks and Karina were an item, or the falling out, but I’m so glad they decided to dance together again. It would have been such a shame for this show not to have had them in it. And, I’ve become a fan of Luis Enrique. 🙂 🙂 🙂
YW and love your replies!xx I’m so glad they danced together too and were able to put their differences aside.
In my opinion those two have the most chemistry as (pro) dancing partners on the show. It’s honestly electric when you see them dance together, even if it’s through a video
What a treat for dance fans to have seen Karina and Maks. IMO, they are one of the few DWTS pro partnerships that have real chemistry and not just “dance” chemistry. Ballroom with a Twist seems like a fun gig as there always seems to be DWTS pros making guest appearances.
The final number is fantastic. Milonga… Loved the rueda they did. And Maksim brings some charisma. I’m still not totally convinced he’s that good on Argentine Tango (It looks like he always goes to do a latin thing IMO), but he does bring charisma to the number. I can’t say anything about Karina… I think she’s the best female pro dancer on DwtS and even out of her field (latin) she does good.
Thanks for the “Forever Tango” videos, Vogue. As always, I’m sending the links to my out-of-town “Maks” friends who wanted to know about the show. I’m glad M&K had a great run!
Hey Guys. Check out BWAT facebook again. They’ve added more new photos!!!
Thanks for this Vogue! Looks like it was a great show 🙂
YW! Thank you too for all the comments Guys!!!! xxxx
I agree with Carlos about Maks’s charisma. There are better technical dancers (his brother, for one), but Maks imbues his dancing with an earthy honesty that audiences just subconsiously relate to.
