Derek talks of he and Amber’s rehearsals and they plan to “perform their socks off”. Jack Osbourne wants to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis and just have fun. Valerie just wants to do the show because she loves to dance. She also wants to remind others to keep moving and keep living. Lots more below. Stay tuned. We may have more with E News later.

Secondly, below is Extra with some interviews with some of the cast. Note how Derek and Amber say they have a Cha Cha for their first dance. Jack Osbourne tells Access Hollywood that his sister Kelly told him to “dive right in” and “embrace the sparkles and spandex” when taking on Dancing With The Stars. Jack says he wanted to do Dancing With The Stars because it’s an interesting opportunity and also for Multiple Sclerosis Awareness. When asked, his partner Cheryl Burke says she is very impressed with his dancing so far and he can kick higher than she can. Their first dance is a Fox Trot. Great first interview!!!

And lastly, be sure you head over to On The Red Carpet at this link. They have even more title shoot photos of the cast with individual pics!!! Which are your favorites? I love them all. Also, Pure Derek Hough has some cool media up too including a cool interview up with Mario Lopez and Derek Hough. He talks of “Family Dance Off” and the new season of Dancing With The Stars.

PureDWTS Anna Trebunskaya Expecting First Child

Well here’s a bit of happy news to break up the chaos of cast announcement day 😀 Turns out there’s a good reason Anna’s not on this season…she’s pregnant!

According to US Weekly, Anna is four months along and “beyond happy” with the news:

“It wasn’t planned, but when it happened, I thought, ‘This is perfect — I’m ready to be a mom,'” Trebunskaya shares in the new issue of Us Weekly, on stands Friday. “This is something really good for me and fulfilling, and it’ll give me a whole new meaning in life. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Anna went on to say that she’s been “ready for a change” and that she’s looking forward to getting the little one involved with the DWTS family :-), although she’s “bummed” that she doesn’t get to compete this season.

Well I’m sure I speak for all of us here at Pure when I wish Anna congratulations and an easy pregnancy! Sad to not see her on the show this season, but elated to hear the exciting news 🙂

PureDWTS17 Valerie Harper Talks Of Why She Decided To Dance, Her Biggest Fears, and More

Valerie harper talks of whey she decided to dance on Dancing With The Stars with People.con. I love love this part:

When they asked, I thought, ‘Why would I say no?’ ” says Harper. “When life asks you to dance, you just have to dance.”

I cna’t think of a better reason and under any circumstances. And here is more about her biggest fears and it’s not of getting sick. This woman is a shining star…

Her biggest fear, she insists, is messing up. “I’d been asked to do this before, but I always said no because I started dancing on Broadway at 17,” she says. “It helped pay for my acting lessons. And I didn’t want to appear on the show and fumble because of my diagnosis.”

But ever since June, her doctors have been “ecstatic” with the results of her brain scans, which have begun showing increasingly “less evidence of cancer.” Buoyed by the diagnosis and physically feeling better than she has in months, Harper hopes it “might prove inspiring to people to see a 74-year-old woman with terminal cancer dancing.”

Harper is so serious about her performance on the show that, with her doctors’ blessings, she’s rearranging her treatment schedule for the powerful medication she’s been taking to combat her cancer.

“After she takes it, she doesn’t feel good for about a day and a half,” says husband Tony Cacciotti. “So right after the show on Monday nights, she’ll take it and then take a break from practices until Wednesday afternoons.”

More at People.

DWTS Executive Producer Conrad Green And Cast Comment On Dancing With The Stars Season 17

And the fun has just begun!!! USA Today has a cool piece up with quotes from the new cast of Dancing With The Stars and why they decided to dance, etc. Dancing With The Stars producer Conrad Green also comments on the cast. Below is a take.

“I feel like it’s one of the best (fields) we’ve had in years. Every single person justifies their place,” executive producer Conrad Green says of the new dancing dozen. “We wanted to get people with compelling stories. We wanted to get people who will be able to put on a show for us. We wanted something that would appeal to every age of the family and we’ve got that with this cast.”

A strong field could help the long-running dance competition as it shrinks from two shows a week to one, eliminating the Tuesday results show.

“It’s a critical season for us. We’re going to one night a week. We really want to make a bang with it and we know the single biggest determining factor in how well the show does is the cast,” Green says.

The new dancers are excited about the opportunity.

“I’ve always been a fan of the show and I am in the best shape of my life, so I feel if I can lose 50 pounds in six months, I can learn the waltz,” says Polizzi, who gave birth to son Lorenzo last year, in an e-mail.

Standing out among the stars is Harper, best known for playing Rhoda Morgenstern on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, who in March said her life expectancy was three months. However, she is close to remission, a doctor says in an upcoming NBC special.

“She’s feeling great at the moment. Her treatment is working out wonderfully. I think she’s very much seizing life and doing things she wants to do and trying to give a positive message to people who are suffering from some of these terrible illnesses, that you can still get out and do things and really make the most of the time you have,” Green says of the 74-year-old actress, who was a dancer in her 20s. “It’s an incredibly positive and quite moving story.”

So exciting! You can read the story in full at USA Today.

The pair offs

ETA1: They are pimping the crap out of this and are saying we have 44 minutes to the reveal. The dancers and celebs are on a big bus (video coming) and Tom and Brooke are leading the way in a big convertible. A helicopter is clearly following them. This appears to be a big deal. 😉

ETA2: Here’s a teasing vid from @dancingABC on Instagram. In other news, Nancy Grace is making me remember why I hated her pre-DWTS and she’s making me hate her again now.

ETA3: Well, some of the folks in the comments found this list which seems to be at least part of the cast list…from GMA

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)
