Bill Engvall Having The Time Of His Life On Dancing With The Stars (New Radio Interview)

Bill Engvall was a guest on Laurie DeYoung’s Morning Show today in Baltimore. At first, Bill wasn’t sure for why he did Dancing With The Stars, but, he’s having the time of his life. He even wishes he would have taken dance classes when he went to school. More below. He’s too fun again!!

Bill Nye Wearing A Robot Suit For Jive On Dancing With The Stars

Just a quick update on Bill Nye !!! People.com has posted a little article with a teaser picture of his dance costume for tonight. He’s dressed up as a robot.

Hmmmm, like Lori mentioned in an email when sending a heads up on this news, has Tyne found a way to cover up or protect his knee for their Jive so he won’t have to move too much? Time will soon tell.

Snooki Channeling Her Inner Marilyn Monroe/Elizabeth Taylor For DWTS Hollywood Week

Snooki tells People she may not be the best ballroom dancer, but, she can still pull it off!! Below is more from her new blog. I continue to love her positive spirit!

This week on Dancing with the Stars is Hollywood week! For this number I’m channeling my inner Marilyn Monroe/Elizabeth Taylor. My part has to be classy, yet sexy and cool at the same time.

I’m really excited, because this dance is fast and happy, and I’m all about being happy! We also add in some of my gymnastic skills so I CAN’T WAIT to show the judges that we are stepping up our game and can do better than a 6!

I’m really putting everything I have into these dances and trying to prove to myself that even though I’m not the best ballroom dancer, I can still pull it off!

Val Chmerkovskiy Writes On New Dance For DWTS Week 3, Wants Maks For A Guest Judge

Val Chmerkovskiy has written a new blog for Today! He congratulates Derek Hough for his Emmy win. He also writes of he and Elizabeth’s new dance tonight. Though also check out how he plugs Maks as a guest judge. Interesting read and be sure to read more at the link. Let us know what you think? I have to admit, I wouldn’t mind seeing this happen as long as Maks was fair and as long as it was only a one time thing. Thanks to Lori for the heads up.

I just feel that it would be cool to have my brother there as well. I would love to see Maks as a guest judge somewhere along the season. I think in general, he would be a great judge on the show, period. But every time that thought came up, the righteousness in me always said, “You know that’s never going to happen! I’m still on the show and the whole $#&^% cast is going to complain!”

My brother said to me that that was definitely a conversation that was had, and that it was something he would be very, very interested in doing. If the right people sit down and come up with the right plan and a common language, I think it could work out incredibly for the show.

I wish that we could get my brother there eventually, but not as my brother, but as Maks, somebody who would be an incredibly professional judge, a very refreshing voice, and a pretty cool, pretty fresh perspective. But Julianne! Very excited!

I like our judges. I really have nothing against them. They do a great job, period! But it’s been seven years. I think just like we’re changing dancers and certain stuff around obviously, but they stuck around because they invested themselves over time. The point is that dances don’t change. And when dances don’t change, comments are inevitably going to repeat themselves because, c’mon, it’s the same dances for 16 seasons. You’re bound to have some repetition and some monotony.

So personally I feel like it would be refreshing to just hear what somebody else thinks about the samba! Not because I don’t respect the opinion that I’m hearing, but it’s just a different energy.

By the way, congratulations to Derek on his Emmy win. It was very inspiring to see that happen. First of all, it’s very, very well deserved and earned, but also it opened the window for all of us, everybody on “Dancing With the Stars,” to finally be looked at and recognized. Derek is obviously one of a kind, but he’s a representation of all of us, and we’re all very proud of him.

Monday is Hollywood Night on “Dancing With the Stars.” Elizabeth and I are doing the foxtrot. I’m looking forward to it because I feel Elizabeth will really gel with the genre. It’s something she’s more comfortable with — there’s a lot of acting. Even though we’re obviously going to turn it up a notch, it’s going to be focused around the traditional foxtrot. I’m excited!

DWTS Season 17, Week 3 – Let’s Recap Tonight’s Show!! (SPOILERS)

Now it gets interesting. Remember, if someone dances like crap tonight, they are still banking on last week’s votes. It’s only tonight’s judges scores they have to worry about. I think there are a few people that will likely be safe tonight regardless, including Valerie, Leah, Corbin, Jack, Amber and maybe Snooki. I could certainly be wrong, but I think it’s going to come down to Bill E and possibly Bill Nye eliminating himself due to his knee. All the monkeying around about Bill Nye makes me think he’s out.

Great start with Leah and Tony. That was a very good dance. Only issue I noticed was the tendency to fall out of her turns, similar to Zendaya.

And Corbin in the second position? Hmmmmm…..

Shut up, Corbin, you’re a massive ringer.

ETA: Okay, the following were in jeopardy:
Christina and Mark
Bill and Tyne
Brant and Peta

Brant was called safe first.

Bill and Tyne were eliminated.

Big question – a real elimination or not?? Also, serious wake up call to Christina this week and Elizabeth this past week – trust me, both of them will not make it to the final four.

And what did you all think about the rapid fire elimination this week? Adjustment to the short shrift they gave Keyshawn last week??

Discuss. 🙂

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

Corbin Bleu DWTS Talk, Would Like To Dance To “PYT” By Michael Jackson

Corbin Bleu answers questions out of a hat at People.com. He answers questions on his most satisfying role to date, his favorite hair style, and favorite fan encounter. Corbin also answers questions on Dancing With The Stars and how he’d like to dance to Michael Jackson’s “PYT” (Yes please. Make that happen! michaeljacksonsmiley ). He thinks his biggest competition this season is Christina Milian. Lots more at People.com.

UPDATE from the Karina and Corbin Camp: Apparently, Karina is experiencing some Flu symptoms? She just posted this note below at her facebook page. Let’s hope she’s going to be ok to dance tonight?

U guys have done it many times before, so I know that it works. I need your healing prayers. I have a fever, am achy, ears are under water… I need 2 get better quick. Please pray 4 a quick recovery and 4 the strength and energy 2 perform at my best tonight. THANK U! LOVE U! 18008683406

UPDATE2: Karina has written a new blog at People. She writes all about she and Corbin’s Quickstep and more. It sounds like they’ve been working non-stop at it. No wonder she’s feeling under the weather. However, @jimmbboe just talked with her (congrats Jim!!) on the phone and she said she’s feeling better and the show will be a killer tonight.

Our quickstep for this week is very difficult. Our routine is fast and complicated. I want to use this routine as a statement to tell people we’re here to compete.

This dance is like P90X for us. Literally, at the end of every rehearsal, we’ll go outside and just sit in this one area for 45 minutes not moving. The body is done. Even my eyelashes hurt. But I think the dance is going to be so cool.

It’s Hollywood golden era week, so a lot of people will either be doing the quickstep or the Charleston or cha cha. Our story is hysterical. It’s changed about five times. It’s kind of a take on the casting couch. He’s the director and he comes in to lead the audition and I am the starlet who comes in for the audition. And the rest is history. We’re just going to say I got the part.

UPDATE3: And Corbin has now written a new blog as well and right in time before the show. Here is what he says about tonight’s dance with Karina….

Our dance is basically like P90X, and it is a freaking marathon. With quickstep, we are doing jive and your arms are also in perfect frame the entire time, so that’s the most difficult part of that dance. It’s very insane. The thing with the quickstep is it is the first time I’ve felt really felt frustrated. With the quickstep, I’m having more difficulty getting the frame right.

This week what we’re doing is Hollywood week, so Karina decided to do the golden age of Hollywood – old movies, and we have a really sort of scandalous dance actually! I really wanted to play that old Hollywood story you hear so much about that director in who hooks up with the starlet in order to get the lead part.

More at People.

UPDATE4: Corbin is also blogging for Access Hollywood. LOL to karina being described as a “Russian Drill Sergeant”.

“DWTS” is no joke! I keep thinking that I’m going to get into a rhythm and the days will be smoother, but things seem to get more frantic each week!

Not to mention the ever looming possibility of getting voted off. That being said though, I’m still having a beyond amazing time learning new dances, getting to know my cast mates, and creating and performing with Karina!

This week, we’re dancing the quick step. Even though we worked extremely hard on our contemporary and our jive, neither dance required the effort it’s taking to do the quick step. Leading, dancing at an extreme rapid pace and staying in frame the whole time?! What?! If I miss one step in this dance it’s near impossible to pick up on another one and save it.

I definitely was more frustrated this week. I’m very much a perfectionist, and with the clock ticking down to performance day with me still struggling with most of the routine I was beginning to panic. We were at the top of the leaderboard last week and the pressure is on! Luckily my partner (my secret weapon) is a nitpicking Russian drill sergeant who refuses to take anything less from me than my best. I’m still scared as hell of this dance, but I think I’m as ready as I can be to wow the judges.
