Las Vegas Odds For Dancing With The Stars Season 17 Week 6
Well, the Las Vegas Odds going into Week 6 of Dancing With The Stars Season 17 aren’t looking too different than last week. What’s disappointing though is that even after a great dance this past week, they continue to put Bill Engvall in last place with 100/1 odds, and yet, Leah is tied with Brant at 18/1 odds. Wha?? 😯 Below is more from Sports Bovada!!
Corbin Bleu 3/2
Amber Riley 7/2
Elizabeth Berkley 7/2
Jack Osbourne 14/1
Snooki 14/1
Brant Daugherty 18/1
Leah Remini 18/1
Bill Engvall 100/1
Below are last week’s odds:
Corbin Bleu 3/2
Amber Riley 7/2
Elizabeth Berkley 7/2
Christina Milan 8/1
Jack Osbourne 14/1
Snooki 14/1
Brant Daugherty 18/1
Leah Remini 18/1
Bill Engvall 100/1
My thoughts: Even though this is an overall forecast, I just hope this isn’t an indication of how things will play out next week? Bill has won over so many of our hearts from the beginning and he’s turned out to be a better dancer than many of us thought. I hope it’s Leah to go home next and that’s all I will say without sounding like I am on repeat. Oh yeah, and one more thing…. I think Elizabeth’s odds should be more in the 14/1 range.
Ok, let’s see what Heidi and Court think. Be sure to tell us what you think in comments as well.
Heidi: Well, it’s hard to say. When Christina was still in the competition, I said either she or Elizabeth were going to be the “shocking” elimination. Christina is now gone and it’s possible that Elizabeth could last longer because of that. Really hard to say. I think the top 2 are correct. After that? Well, I don’t think Bill is going home this week unless the seriously hose him on the scores. Leah, on the other hand, is clearly getting votes, because she beat a huge deficit and Christina went home instead of her. How huge? Numbers post is coming later. 🙂 I had late nights at work and didn’t feel like writing it until last night. Liz has been in jeopardy a couple times. Brant’s been in jeopardy at least once. These things are often predictive. I’m torn. It could really be between Bill, Leah, Brant and Snookie – who are the bottom four in ratings. So, I guess I agree with bottom four, but I’m not sure about the order.
Courtney: Not a whole lot to add that Heidi hasn’t already said – but I do worry that Snooki could be in some danger this week, due to the fact that it’s sounding like the east coast phone votes might get tossed as a result of Muppet idiocy. And while Leah may have gotten the votes to overcome Christina, I feel like some viewers might have jumped off the Leah bandwagon after her behavior this week – she seemed to rub a LOT of people the wrong way. Still think Bill has at least another week in him, but worry that the judges may start whittling out who they deem “the weaker dancers”, and may decide to hose him, Andy-style 🙁
You know, I have been trying to promote IBLWR as a trash free bash free zone and support all the dancers because that is how Bill is but I really have to say there are at LEAST three people on that odds list that seriously need to go home before he does. I think I have voiced my opinion on who NEEDS and SHOULD go home this week. Especially after the attitude they gave last Monday night.
As I said, kiss my pitchfork Mr. Odds Maker, kiss my pitchfork.
Cher, I love the way you redid you name. lolll
I try Madam V, I try. 🙂
I will be extremely upset if Nicole gets the short end of things because they decide to throw out east coast votes. And I don’t want to see the judges throwing Bill under the bus. With his hard work and his wonderful attitude, he deserves to stay at least a few more weeks. Leah does need to leave. Her attitude it horrible, her and Tony are boring together, her dances are not good. It’s time to say thank you for the opportunity and leave.
I’ve said before I want to see Elizabeth gone before she gets anywhere near the semi finals and I’m sticking to that.
Right now, I’m thinking it could be a finals of Amber, Corbin and Nicole (if she isn’t hurt by the voting fiasco). But I would like to see Amber, Nicole and Bill.
And I agree with Cher, there are definitely 3 people on the list that should go before Bill.
I think Leah will go this week. I agree that a lot of people jumped ship with her after her constant “I’m not a dancer” shtick (personally I was indifferent to her before but after this week I want her to go).
I think the SBTB routine is what will save Elizabeth this week but it will be either her or Brant next. I think Brant is the type of contestant that could pick up votes as the season goes on (I know my mom just started voting for him this week) but Elizabeth is the type who will just have her fans (and Val’s fans) voting but won’t gain outsiders. Elizabeth is going to get good scores from the judges, that’s a given, so it really depends on how Brant does with the judges the next two weeks.
I am surprised that Bill hasn’t gone up in the odds, they have to realize by now that votes are what are keeping him around. Clearly they just look at judges scores and dancing ability to determine the odds.
Really, for me, once Leah and Elizabeth go I’ll be fine with the rest of the contestants. In an ideal world Bill would win but hey every week he makes it through I’m happy!
i hope bill doesn’t go
it’s time for leah and tony this week
i don’t mind having elizabeth a week more
i still don’t think corbin will win i haven’t see many reaction on twitter or facebook for him since week 2
do you guys think they will put the last dancer safe or in jeopardy like these past 2 weeks?
Well all I have to say is vote your butts off and get on Twitter and make some noise with Tom, the judges and @DancingABC. 😉
I really hope either Leah, Christina, or Brant leave (–in that order of preference)
I feel like DWTS this season has turned into “I don’t have dance experience so it’s not fair” which we’ve seen in a couple of packages — Leah being the worst complainer which in my opinion is getting old and therefore I’d like her to leave
I LOVE Snooki and Bill and I hope they stay as long as possible. I just LOVE Bill because he just goes with it and is having fun. He may not be the best technical dancer but who cares? It’s sort of like Andy last season, I just love to see him dance. SO I hope the odd’s are wrong.
I don’t mind for Bill to last a little longer but I want to see the good dancers in the finale not the mediocre ones.
I love amber and Derek hope they stay to the end
I want Leah, Elizabeth and Jack to go in that order.
I hope the Top 4 is
Amber, Corbin, Snooki, Bill 🙂
then I hope Leah goes next followed by Liz and Jack
Also does anyone know if the finals will be 4 couples again or how it work will this year?
#9 Hmm, I thought Christina left already. No?
You’re looking at the wrong table, Alicia.
I just noticed in my post above I said Christina instead of Elizabeth. Opps.
But either of those 3, I would be fine with leaving.
I think the odds makers are nuts. Bill should be higher on that list – though I think that perhaps a big reason he’s not is his age (and he’s not an iconic figure like Valerie). But Valerie went home before him, as did Christina, and other folks whom were placed higher in the odds than Bill. So I have hope that Bill will be staying around for another couple of weeks at least. My guess is that Courtney’s Power Rankings are more accurate than these odds.
This is the first year I have not voted during the show. If Bill goes, I certainly don’t want to be voting like a mad-crazed-redialer-facebooker-dwts-vote-hitter, just to lose those votes should he go home. But hey–I’ll join the Riot group if he does. I’m missing the stories, but then again, Lisa’s story has had it’s 15 seconds and she obviously has nothing else to say, so let’s release her from her non-dancing-it’s-not-fair-I-have-Tony-too misery. Apologies to all for the hyphenated-speak. Oops, did it again!
@DooWop
I hope you mean you wait until AFTER the show airs to vote. 🙂
If you don’t vote AT ALL it is that line of thinking THAT WILL send him home. It is that line of thinking that sends any contestant home early that shouldn’t. It is like a “why bother?” attitude.
Bill needs all the support he can get. I hope you reconsider voting and please feel free to come be a rioter, if you aren’t already, on the #IfBillLeavesWeRiot support Twitter page. 🙂
I love amber and hope she has a shot but don’t think derek will get another mb two years in a row. Loving the non dancers this year and Bill is super.
Seriously if they are shooting for the “Haven’t won a Trophy” mentality this season that leaves Val, Sasha and of course Emma.
You know Emma is a real doll, very sweet. I’m glad they made her pro this year. Very smart move on their part. And I’m not saying that because she is Bill’s partner. I think the show needed some fresh blood in her, Sasha and Tyne.
I’m in the minority here but for me, Bill’s appeal has played itself out. I live his attitude but in week 6 , I want to start focusing on the dancing and seeing the better dancers take on the harder challenges. I would love for Leah to go home this week and take Tony with her for an extended leave from the show. I think the final 4 will be Corbin, Amber, Elizabeth and Jack. We know Len has a bias against those not with the dancer’s body. He has also shown other bias, ala Lil Kim besides. not sure how mych it will hurt but it will. Per Heidi, I too wxpect the “cow on the stage – frippery” biased reasoning for lower scores to play itself out soon. I also know they like reversal odds favorite. That means either Amber or Elizabeth will lose out to Jack so he can be in the finals. Just like the year Rob K beat Ricky Lake for 2nd and in no universe did he dance remotely as well as her. I am also hoping that comes in to play for finals with Corbin the favorite losing to Amber who I believe has a bigger fan base and D will have a killer free style for her. I’m thinking one or all if these scenarios will come into play.
They’ve been giving Val great partners to the point that I think we need to start the cry of “Val always gets the good partners!!” Seems like he’s gotten fantastic partners 3 seasons in a row, and when you look at his whole roster, his “get’s” are WAY better than Derek’s on average, and on paper. He’s had one model who I can’t even remember how good a dancer she was cuz she left so early. Every other person he’s had was a serious contender, including Sherri. Why she got eliminated early? She was annoying, IMO. But that doesn’t change the fact that she shoulda been a contendah!
Nah, let’s just obsess over Derek’s partners – it’s totally cliche, but it’s just so easy. 😉
As a proud Bill & Emma Rioter, I get my phone votes in during the show. Less phone line congestion, and I don’t consider my votes wasted since I don’t think I would vote for another couple in their place. Another advantage – last week I missed Leah & Tony’s dance because I had to leave the room to get a better signal on my cell. JMO 🙂
I’d consider the model Val had a contender – despite being eliminated second she was high up on the leaderboard when she was eliminated. This means that Val has had five contenders in all his five seasons – disgusting favoritism by TPTB.
kate i also kind of thought that len has a bias over people who doesn’t have dancer bodies
i thought i was the only one thinking that
glad i’m not imagining stuff 🙂
I would like a double E. Throw out Leah, who is dragged around the floor. And Liz who is way too fragile and spoilt.
I hadn’t commented about this week’s performances before now, I was really sick and only saw it last night. I’m glad to see Corbin at the top of these odds still, but I’m worried for him given the ridiculous scores he got that carry over to next week. I LOVE Bill and hope he survives too next week, but there’s no way he and Corbin should have gotten the same scores. Ridiculous!
Initially Corbin and Karina seemed stressed out and wanted it too bad, but in recent weeks I think they’ve become much more fun and seem to really be enjoying themselves. Their packages have been good and they seem to really be getting along. I thought Corbin fanboying over GOT this week was particularly adorable (it’s always funny to realize “stars” go crazy over their favorite shows just like we do), and I thought they handled their poor scores and ridiculous commentary well. Then I read on here that everyone still thinks they are desperate and want it too much. I feel like I’m watching a different show than everyone else.
Also wanted to add about the show that I didn’t think a single 10 was warranted.
I hope Corbin and Bill survive, they are my favorites
The ones I most want gone, Leah and Elizabeth. Leah because I can’t stand her personality, Elizabeth because the SBTB routine REALLY turned my off last week and I hate the way the show is overscoring and overpraising her. I liked her well enough initially, the show’s turned me off her.
@NancyM #28 please don’t think you are alone as I feel exactly the same way you do. I wrote a post on one of these threads how much I loved Corbin and Karina’s dance and that it was the favorite of the night for me. I think Corbin is great and I have always loved Karina. The judges scoring was absolutely ridiculous and there is no way Corbin deserved a 23. I just finished another post saying the judges led by Len are off there rockers. Len who said he had to be consistent was the most inconsistent I have ever seen him.
I also agree with you that not one of the dances deserved a 10. Anna was on After Buzz and she was in the studio on Monday night. She said Elizabeth’s top half was wonderful, but not her bottom half (feet). She even said how can that be a perfect score? It can’t. It’s Len as I believe he has always over scored her.
I just said the same thing on another post – the two people I want gone the most is Elizabeth and Leah.
You are not alone and I agree with everything you said.
Oops I just realized that should read their rockers not there rockers.
Thanks, Gail! I was starting to think I was crazy reading so many comments about them(not just here) that are the exact opposite of what I was seeing. I’m still worried they won’t go as far as they should because of their lowballed scores and negative viewer comments.
NancyM I hear you and I worry as well. I do have to say that after their dance this week and the extremely low scores they got for the first time I saw lots of posts all over the place that actually said their dance while not the usual VW was their favorite dance of the night by far. I even read posts by people that were similar to your post where they almost were afraid to admit that they loved the dance and really liked him. Once one person made one they all seemed to follow. I also noticed that after Corbin’s dance I saw two tweets on the television screen regarding the dance. Apparently another fan of GOT said he was picking up the phone and voting right now.
It’s just my opinion, but I think sometimes people don’t like it when people have danced before and would rather see people who have never danced and get better each week. For myself, I don’t care if someone has danced before and Corbin hasn’t done ballroom before. In a way I think it can be harder to make the transition from one dance to another then it is to start from scratch. That’s not to say that I don’t like the other type of dancers that have never danced.
I just enjoy watching Corbin and Karina dance and I think she has done some beautiful choreography this season. I think he belongs in the finals, but that’s jmo. I don’t get how the judges raved about what a beautiful dancer he was last week and then all of them turned on him this week. I think he has been underscored by them all season. As usual it has been Len who has been the hold out, but he has no problem giving Elizabeth and Leah inflated scores. They clearly want Elizabeth in the final. Maybe Leah as well for all I know and that would be my worst nightmare.
On a personal level I just like Corbin and when I watched the video that Henry does after the show there was another guy who was with Henry and he was begging to have pictures taken with some of them as they left rehearsals. It surprised me who from the cast actually stopped and did so. The only two from the cast were Corbin and Amber. Of course Karina is always friendly to Henry as well as Peta and both did pictures with Henry. Cheryl also stopped to have a picture taken. Elizabeth, Leah and Nicole ignored them. Didn’t even say hi from what I could hear.
After Corbin took a picture with the guy the guy was telling Corbin that he had some long ago connection with Corbin when he was just a young boy and on the Red Carpet for something. He said he had a picture of Corbin at the time. Corbin was very nice to him and rather amazed at the story. Henry also told Corbin that he had the best partner. I think Henry is sweet on Karina because she is always so nice to him. 🙂
Oops again I just remembered Brant did as well. I had forgotten about him.
