DWTS2013 Tony Dovolani Sees A New Confidence In Leah Remini, Teases On Surprises Coming
Tony Dovolani is back with a new blog at In Touch Weekly. In the snippet below he talks of Leah’s growing confidence and how she’s really attacking things now. He also says we’re in for a surprise next week and he knows Leah is going to wow the crowd (sigh). For the full blog, see the link.
I told her I’d keep her dancing and she replied, “You had better!” I see a whole new confidence from Leah and that’s something we always hope people accomplish while doing the show, so it’s nice to be a part of a journey that accomplished that.
And she’s looking good! I’ve noticed that her clothes are a lot tighter and she is feeling good about herself. It’s a great feeling to see your student blossom. Leah actually insists on not stepping on a scale, but she did say the show has changed her body quite a bit and she’s had to change her wardrobe completely. She’s walking tall; not that shy anymore and she’s feeling good about stuff.
She’s really attacking things now and that’s a huge difference. Before she’d get insecure and a little scared before a show. Now it’s the other way around and she attacks things really hard.
On Monday, we danced a regular tango and a jive with Henry Byalikov. The Jive could scare people but in this case Leah was really excited about it and we chose Henry because he and I have a history and we danced together with Melissa. I don’t want to spoil too may surprises for next week, but I know Leah is going to wow the crowd once again. Can’t wait for you all to see what we have in store!
Tony managed to give Leah a compliment without dragging everybody else down. I’m actually surprised right now.
This is part of why I love Vogue, even if she’s frustrated with a pair, they still get “airtime” here.
Amen, Jess! Our Vogue takes her blogging responsibilities very seriously. She never shows favoritism or excludes anyone. 🙂
Awww thanks Guys!! xxxx
It’s the whole site too Cidra, like CS’s power rankings, it’s not ranking of who she likes best although she’s quite transparent about who she likes, which I think adds to the readability/value of it, and same for PH numbers. If they pretended they liked everyone, without any favorites it would be harder to take what they say seriously because one would wonder what the hidden spins were. I don’t get it when I hear criticisms like they only like 1 pro or pair. I’m pretty sure CS and PH are not voting for the same couple and from what I remember of seasons past, I don’t think it’s a new thing. I think this season Vogue might share PH favorite but I know in many seasons she’s rooting for a number of people. And again, no matter who she’s rooting for, she gives us media on everyone.
Love that this place is an opinion blog and appreciate that everyone gets coverage.
Thanks jess 🙂 And yeah, despite the opinion held by our detractors that we’re “all a bunch of Derek-worshippers”, more often than not, Heidi & I don’t vote for the same person; on top of that, I tend to switch who I’m voting for throughout the season, as my favorites get sent home. This is my 4th year blogging at Pure; and I don’t there’s been a single season where I’ve voted exclusively for Derek. In season 9, I was voting for Kelly & Louis; in season 10, I was voting for Pam & Damian, then threw my votes to Nicole & Derek; in season 11, I switched off between voting for The Situation & Karina, Kurt & Anna, and Jennifer & Derek; in season 12, it was Sugar Ray & Anna, then Chris & Cheryl, Romeo & Chelsie, then Ralph & Karina, then Kirstie & Maks; in season 13, I was all about Carson & Anna and then JR & Karina; in season 14, I switched around between Jack & Anna, Roshon & Chelsie, and Donald & Peta; season 15 I was on the Apolo & Karina train, and then threw my votes to Shawn & Derek in the finale; last season it was Lisa & Gleb, Andy & Sharna, and Jacoby & Karina.
And I think it’s obvious who I’m rooting for this season 😉
It was an aberration, Kaitlyn. Give him time.
Thanks Jess. It’s not always easy….and I’ve had to write to Court and Heidi about it several times when I was getting frustrated about reporting on some people….the first was Maks (in his last season on DWTS), then Cheryl (last season), and now Tony (though I didn’t write them this time on Tony. I just gulped it down. lol).
And yeah, I’ve had my different favorites too. Maks, Derek, and Edyta are the reason I started watching DWTS. I have always loved Derek. Maks is a mixed bag now. I also like Henry and Gleb. As for female pros, Sharna and Karina are my faves! I really like Emma too!
Ditto what everyone else has said!! This site is not only informative but rational and fair. 🙂
I too am one of those viewers that votes for whomever I like that season. I do have some favorite pros, but if I’m not feeling their pairing that season then I send my votes elsewhere. It’s always great to find what I call a “hidden gem” each season. And this season it’s definitely Bill and Emma.
Courtney, if you wrote a fictional social satire inspired by this show and the various fandoms, etc., I would buy it.
Tony, Tony, Tony……He must really love that the judges love Leah (for what reason at this point is beyons me becuase she is wildly inconsistant and her only really good dances so far was the tango and the quickstep)so I really hope she screws up next week. I know it sounds mean but I can’t take any more of Leah kissing up the judges and getting away with it.
Paso and A. Tango are the two dances that Hope Solo got eliminated on when the judges started to get real with her scoring.
They are the two dances Leah has next week.
Interesting.
Thanks Cameron. Aside from Amber being excited about rehearsal, that’s the most encouraging news I’ve heard in days.
When I started seriously watching DWTS in season 10, I was rooting for Evan and Anna. I LOVE Ice Skating & it was soo cool to get the reigning Male Olympic Champion on the show. I didn’t care too much for Nicole and Derek because I didn’t think it was fair to have a person with Dance experience on the show. And when Nicole flubbed that lift in her Freestyle I thought for sure Evan would get the win..oh how wrong I was. Season 11 saw me rooting for Derek and Jennifer as I’ve always been a fan of Jennifer’s since her Dirty Dancing Days as an 80’s kid. Season 12, as a Steeler fan, I voted for Hines and Kym from the get-go. As a former fat girl, I voted for RIcki and Derek in Season 13.Season 14, I voted for Derek and Maria and think she got robbed out of a place in the finals over Katherine Jenkins who I still believe faked that back spasm to get a spot in the finals…I tweeted her that too and she blocked me on Twitter…no name calling on my part whatsoever but blocked anyway..Guess the truth hurts, eh Katherine??
Now I’m a Derek lover. Had he been paired with Bristol Palin in All-Stars, I wouldn’t have voted for him.
I don’t think Vogue, Courtney or Heidi are biased towards Derek. He is the best. I think they’re tired of the blatant manipulations of the producers of DWTS.
