DWTS18 Rumor (Again): Kelly Brook To Dance In Next Season Of Dancing With The Stars?

We’ve seen this rumor before in November and now we’re seeing it again. Below is more from the Daily Mail and the Mirror today about Kelly Brook meeting with the producers of Dancing With The Stars to dance next season. Keep in mind the Daily Mail and the Mirror have been known to make up their own stories and sensationalize while you read this. I really do hope this is true though. She’d be great and it doesn’t bother me that she danced before on Strictly Come Dancing. Let us know what you think….

Kelly Brook’s dream of international fame may well be realized following a successful meeting with producers of Dancing With The Stars.

The 34-year-old model and actress is said to be primed for an appearance on the long-running celebrity talent show after impressing bosses during a recent trip to Los Angeles.

It’s understood that Kelly was giving a glowing recommendation from Dancing With The Stars regular Derek Hough – the former boyfriend of Cheryl Cole – prompting curious producers to offer her an exclusive front-row seat at a recording of the hit show.

A source told The Mirror: ‘They love British stars on the show, and Kelly is exactly what it needs – she’s down to earth, she’s going to look amazing in all those ballroom outfits and she’s not afraid of putting in the work.’

The British star is already familiar with the ballroom floor having participated in British variant Strictly Come Dancing in 2007.

Partnered with Kiwi Brendan Cole – a Latin American dance specialist – Kelly won glowing praise from the judging panel, but her participation in the show abruptly ended in week nine after father Kenneth Parsons lost his battle with cancer.

‘Kelly is gorgeous and has great dancing ability,’ the source added. ‘No celebrity has ever appeared on two versions of the show but they are considering breaking the rules for her.’

MailOnline have contacted Kelly’s representatives for further comment.

PureDWTS Guest Blog: “I am alive today because of Chelsie Hightower”

PureDWTS reader Byrl Alexander has sent us a guest blog telling us of his scare with Cancer recently and how pro dancer Chelsie Hightower has helped him. He feels he owes Chelsie a lot. Read on to see why. This is a great and inspiring story for us all. Thank you Byrl and lots of positive thoughts and prayers set your way!! Keep on walking!!

This is a true story and I am alive today because of Chelsie Hightower. Update on me, I go in on the 31st of December for my 11th treatment of chemo and have one left on Jan 14th 2014 and then run a scan and I’m done with my treatments, so far I am beating cancer.

I have been a fan of Chelsie Hightower for many years. Back in January 2013 I was talking to her online,I asked her a question and Chelsie told me that I spend to much time on the computer, which I had all ready heard this from my wife and daughter as well. She offered three things I could do and I took her up on take a walk. Since I had started my own diet on Jan 1st 2013, I thought this was an ideal idea, as exercise and diet go hand in hand when losing weight. Chelsie told me to report to her daily on everything I did that was productive, and held me accountable. I never missed a day. If she had not mentioned walking that day, I would have waited until warmer weather, but by starting back in January, I was making good progress by the time the weather did turn warm. Chelsie Hightower saved my life, and I don’t know if she realizes that when she suggested I take a walk and report in daily, that she saved my life. These words saved my life (Take a Walk)

On June 21st I was admitted to the North Kansas City Hospital, in my hometown, for unusual symptoms. I ended up getting a colonoscopy and the doctors found a tumor on my colon, which was malignant. When the doctor delivered this news, I looked at him and told him I would beat this; at the same time he told me if I had not been walking and lost 75 lbs., that I would not be alive today. Walking saved my life, and I had an operation on June 25 to remove the tumor and some of the colon. I also have cancer on the liver as well, but the last visit to my Doctor he said that my liver had not increased in size which made he and I both happy. I have had 9 Chemo treatments and will have a PET scan on some time in January to see how my condition is progressing, . I still walk and will be walking all year as both of my doctors told me walking is my key to good health. I do everything I’m told to do.

I had went from 275 to 196, but both of my Doctors want me to stay at 205, so you can say I lost almost 80# my goal was 100# but that may never happen.

Chelsie needs to be recognized for saving a life, I have told her many times thanks for saving my life, but the world needs to know this and her family as well. I even sent her a bouquet of flowers thanking her. Chelsie is my angel. As a footnote, Chelsie knows me, I met Chelsie here in Kansas City, Mo back in June of 2012, and I also went to see her dance in person at Prior Lake Mn this past May.

I still will have to report to the doctor ever so often for lab work and scans the rest of my life.

Australian Newspaper Pays Homage To Dancing With The Stars Peta Murgatroyd

This is such a wonderful tribute from the Sydney Morning Herald to Dancing With The Stars Peta Murgatroyd. Reading the story, I didn’t realize Peta also had Scottish roots. Fascinating….

So I’m in the right frame of mind to appreciate the phenomenon that is Peta Murgatroyd. All hail the Aussie girl (Kiwi-born, but moved to Perth at 18 months, so fair to claim her …) who makes it big in the US – and winning the American version of Dancing With the Stars is pretty damn big.

Ms Murgatroyd topped the show in spring 2012 (they do two series a year over there, which is a hell of a lot of fake tan …) with American football star Donald Driver.

You can watch the cha cha cha that clinched them the title here.

Boy, can Murgatroyd move. I’m also very impressed by her physique. She’s superfit and toned – but she’s categorically not skinny-minny. There is a truly delicious layer of lady flesh over the muscle and bone.

She has the quality, which many ballroom dancing lady stars seem to have, which my husband calls ”womanish”. It’s his highest compliment. The most hubba of hubbas.

If we are, as a culture, going to collectively venerate any body type (and we are, all cultures have, since pre-history), I would rather it were this than the emaciated frames of the Milan catwalks, or the plastic fantastic of the pin-up girls.

Of course, Ms Murgatroyd has a body of elite refinement, achievable only by very hard work on top of a nature-bestowed base, but it’s a goal that can be sought in a healthy way, not requiring starvation or surgery.

My New Year’s resolution is to get back to my Zumba class. But before we get to that – we have Tuesday’s big night to look forward to.

I’m staying in this year, with my mum, where we will raise whisky at midnight to honour her Scottish heritage. I might dance a highland fling.

More at Sydney Morning Herald on Peta’s recent appearance at the 15th Annual Trevor Project Benefit and how she came up with the look.

DWTS And Strictly Come Dancing’s Bruno Tonioli Would Like To See David Beckham And Kate Moss Dance

In a new Strictly Come Dancing interview with Telly Mix, Bruno Tonioli talks of how hard it must be for a celebrity to take on the dance floor. It’s also something he’d never do. He points out how he’s done his time since it’s been 40 years he’s been in the industry. Incredible, isn’t it? Good read and note below how Bruno would like to see David Beckham or Kate Moss dance. Good idea. They would be really cool gets….on either on “Strictly Come Dancing” or “Dancing With The Stars”. What do you think?

“For years I’ve asked for David Beckham. he would be so good, old Goldenballs!

“I’ve even suggested that the BBC send him some special golden dancing shoes to tempt him.”

Bruno added: “He looks good in a suit, so he’d be great.. or Kate Moss!”

Meanwhile, the spicy Italian panelist explained he doesn’t envy the position of the stars who take to the dancefloor, saying he wouldn’t like to compete in the show himself.

The 58-year-old said: “I would never do it, I know what hard work it is!

“Next September will be my 40th year in the industry. I think I’ve done my bit.”

Radio Interview With Sharna Burgess About The Competitive Part Of Dancing With The Stars And More

Not sure when this radio interview took place, but, it’s a good one. Sharna Burgess talks with GJ Reynolds Beach Life Style Radio Show all about Dancing With The Stars and it’s influence on dance in general. “Ballroom” is cool. They also talk about the competitive part of the show, what kind of training it takes to transform the celebrities, keeping in shape in the off season, and lots more. Excellent!
