Okay, we’ve reported on Cody Simpson a couple times as rumored for Season 18, here and here. Now, it seems, from his own mouth he’s confirming that he’s on – and there is much squealing on twitter from his fans. But does he really confirm?? I hear the word “probably” thrown in there. What do you think??
Heads up Karina Smirnoff fans!! The Dancing With The Stars pro will be a guest on The Better Show on Thursday, January 23rd. Let’s hope she’ll talk about Dancing With The Stars!!
Who is planning to see “Ballroom With A Twist”? Producer Scott Stander told PureDWTS that we will see “a very special show as we have a few people in covering for some cast members. We are doing a performance in San Francisco with Val Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd. So a lot of surprises.” Surprises indeed. I can’t. I plan to see the Wyoming show. If you haven’t got tickets to a show in your area, see this link as they are travelling all over the country. Scott along with Cheryl Burke also talked with Delaware Online. Below is a take from the article on the show….
“Ballroom” has “kind of evolved,” says producer Scott Stander from a concept that began with: What do you get when you combine three television reality shows? “You get ‘Ballroom With a Twist,’ ” he says.
This is the first time that Burke, a California native from the San Francisco area, will be on the “Ballroom” tour, although she remembers visiting Wilmington with the “Dancing With The Stars” tour a few years ago, but the show left after a night, she says. This time around, she’s looking forward to being in Delaware for a week.
“I have no idea what to expect on the show,” Burke says, “But I know I’ll be dancing with Tony Dovolani, Derek Hough and Peta Murgatroyd. A lot of my friends are part of ‘Ballroom with a Twist,’ and have been for the last few years. I’m excited to be able to dance in front of live people and just have a good time. For me, when it comes to dancing, it’s always better to perform in a more intimate setting like a theater.”
Dancing in a big arena requires big performances, she says. But dancing in a theater allows the audience to see the interplay between the dancers and appreciate the emotion and subtle moves.
This show will start with a Broadway-style number. During the night, fans will see dances that include samba, waltzes, foxtrots, quickstep and jive.
“If you’re a fan of these shows, you’ll be tickled pink,” Stander says. “If you’ve never watched the shows, you will end up a fan of those shows because of the amazing talent on the stage. What they do with their bodies is amazing. Dancing is all different these days, very athletic.”
The show will a question-and-answer session with the stars.
“I do expect to be getting a lot of questions,” says Burke, who has been on “Dancing With The Stars” for 15 seasons. The questions always include things like whether they pick their own partners, how much work they do and who their favorite partners were. (Jack Osbourne and Emmett Smith were two of them).
“Ballroom With a Twist” is designed to be the kind of show you can bring kids to, or you can bring grandma, and they’ll all have a good time, Stander says.
“You’ll see flashy costumes, you’ll see some great production numbers and some great singing,” he says. “The audience will get up and have a good time and dance.” One of the numbers is a Cirque du Soleil-style number featuring Cirque performer Eric Newton to soaring vocals.

I’m not sure what this event was for (if someone knows, let us know), but, below is Dancing With The Stars Henry Byalikov and Karina Smirnoff dancing an Argentine Tango this past weekend. Are they not breathtaking?! The music is so beautiful too.
So, Henry and Karina have just inspired a new question: Which pro pairings would you like to see dance together on Dancing With The Stars Season 18 in a pro number?
My Dancing With The Stars wish for pro pairing type numbers this upcoming season is to see more of Karina and Henry dancing together. I also would love to see Gleb Savchenko and his wife Elena Samodanova dance. And what about Sharna Burgess and her boyfriend Paul Kirkland? Also, how about Derek Hough and Allison Holker again? *sigh* The passion!!
Let us know in comments who you’d like to see paired together. You never know as TPTB read this site and your ideas might be inspirational!!
ETA: Thanks to DWTSgossip, the event above was for a wedding.
Awwww, is this not precious??!!!! This past weekend, Anna had a baby girl!! She and boyfriend Nevin Millan named it Amalya! What a beautiful name. CONGRATULATIONS Anna!! Below is more from US Weekly….
Anna Trebunskaya and boyfriend Nevin Millan welcomed their first child, daughter Amalya Millan, at a home birth on Saturday, Jan. 18,” her rep confirms in a statement released to Us Weekly.
“We’re thrilled to welcome our beautiful, healthy baby into the world,” the couple tells Us of their newborn daughter. “We couldn’t be happier.”
“It wasn’t planned, but when it happened, I thought, ‘This is perfect — I’m ready to be a mom,'” she gushed to Us last year. “This is something really good for me and fulfilling, and it’ll give me a whole new meaning in life. I’m really looking forward to it.”
She also assured Us she would return to the dance floor after the baby’s birth: “I’m looking forward to getting back into shape and dancing afterward and bringing the baby on board into the DWTS family!” she said.
