A Ballroom With A Twist Review From The San Diego Show With Mark Ballas And Peta Murgatroyd

ExperiencedSD wrote a fun review on the Ballroom With A Twist show that took place in San Diego last weekend. This is a must read…especially if you plan to attend one of the Ballroom With A Twist shows. Below is a take about the “question and answer” part of the show. Check out what Mark said about Maks. lol Hilarious!!

In the middle of the show, there was a Q&A session with Peta and Mark. It was an open session and anyone in the crowd could ask any question they want. We learned that in Dancing with the Stars, the dancers are paired to their celebrity by height or by personality (which is sometimes usually clashing). We also learned from Mark Ballas that Maks Chmerkovskiy can be as Mark describes it, “pranky,” that in the Mark’s first appearance at DWTS, Maks cup-checked him!

More at ExperiencedSD including pictures of Mark and Peta!!

DWTS Season 18 Rumor: Bruce Jenner To Dance??

How about Bruce Jenner for Dancing With The Stars Season 18? According to US Weekly, he’s close to being “locked in”. This isn’t the first time this rumor has cropped up. Bruce was rumored to dance in Season 14 as well.

Bruce Jenner is shining his dancing shoes! The 64-year-old former Olympian is in talks to join Season 18 of Dancing With the Stars, Us Weekly can exclusively confirm.

“He’s dying to do it,” an insider tells Us. “The show is close to locking him in.”

Jenner has stepped into the ballroom before — as an audience member. The star previously cheered on stepdaughter Kim Kardashian, 33, as she took 11th place in Season 7 with professional dancer Mark Ballas. Kim’s younger brother, Rob Kardashian, 26, followed in her footsteps when he joined Season 13 of the dancing competition in 2011. He and Cheryl Burke were eliminated in week 10. “He would have fun with it,” Rob told Us.

Ok, I think I’m game, and maybe Cheryl might be a cool partner? Let us know what you think!!

DWTS Judge Carrie Ann Inaba Attends ‘Totem’ from Cirque Du Soleil Premiere (Photos)

Last night, Dancing With The Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba attended the opening night of ‘Totem’ from Cirque Du Soleil in Santa Monica, California. She even did the splits on the Red Carpet as you can see below. I’m liking her new hair style too. What do you think? To see more fun pictures of Carrie Ann, see Getty Images.

Mark Ballas Getting In Shape For Next Season Of Dancing With The Stars And More

Mark Ballas tells CBS that it’s time to head back to camp. He plans to spend the next six weeks shedding 12 pounds that he gained during the holidays in preparing for the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars. CBS reports, “He has no idea which professional dancers will be asked back or which celebrities will take a turn on the dance floor for season 18. That call will likely come in mid-February. But he’s getting ready regardless.” Here is a take where Mark talks about the next season, but, be sure to see CBS to read more.

Looking ahead to next season, Ballas hopes the “DWTS” producers continue to push boundaries and toss in new twists. “I always love when they switch it up,” he said.

When asked who he’d like to see join the show, Ballas said, “Jennifer Aniston, though I don’t think she’d ever do it,” he said. “I’m a huge Ellie Goulding fan. She can move. I went to her show and she’s really good. And she’s in really good shape…She might be awesome if she’s got some time off of tour.”

Now on television for nearly a decade, “DWTS” has features a host of celebrities over the years and still pulls in decent ratings. Ballas says he thinks the celebrity contenders’ “genuine struggle and overcoming of obstacles” is what keeps the show on the air.

“You see these people that you’re already familiar with do. In this society, people put celebrities and athletes up on a pedestal because you see them in one light – you see them onstage doing art, on TV, or on the field playing sports. Then when you see them [on ‘DWTS’] and they’re like, ‘I may have bitten more off than I can chew here.’ People find that fascinating,” he said.

ETA: Mark talks about getting back into shape with KKLZ. He also talks about how he was approached to do Dancing With The Stars, his former partners, chemistry, and more.

Karina Smirnoff’s Partner Wish List For Dancing With The Stars Season 18

Karina Smirnoff talked with OK! Magazine last week during the JCPenney’s event. She talks of taking acting lessons and her movie with Ralph Macchio “Across Grace Alley”. They also discuss Dancing With The Stars and who Karina would like to dance with if it were to be Oscar-themed. If it is, this is who Karina would like to dance with…

For Karina, one of the perks of being a dancer on DWTS is the celebs she gets to meet.

“It allows us to meet people that we would never meet in our lives,” she says. “I met Muhammad Ali. I was starstruck, and I froze. He waved me over, and we took a picture. It made my year. It was incredible.”

As for other actors who top her DWTS wish list?

“Ryan Gosling, Ryan Guzman from Step Up—he would be great. Either of the Ryans are amazing. They are talented. They have dance experience. I have a crush on them. It would be awesome. “

More at OK! Magazine including a mention on Matthew McConaughey (Karina, you have great taste! 😀 ).
