Just a couple of TV Heads up! Wednesday, Feb. 12th, Karina Smirnoff will be a guest on Good Morning America. Let’s hope she talks of the new season of Dancing With The Stars and gives some info on the cast announcement? Also, Tony Dovolani will be on Good Morning America on Thursday, Feb. 13th to give a dance lesson. From ABCMedia Net.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 12 – Lucky Magazine’s Eva Chen with her favorite picks for Valentine’s Day; “Dancing with the Stars” pro dancer Karina Smirnoff; GMA’s Epic Wedding Showdown

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13 – Actors Bruce Dern and June Squibb (“Nebraska”); singer Francesca Battistelli performs; “Deals and Steals” with contributor Tory Johnson; GMA’s Epic Wedding Showdown: the winning couple gets a dance lesson from “Dancing with the Stars” pro dancer Tony Dovoloni

And speaking of Karina, it appears she may have a new part in a new movie called “In Light of the Dance”. Below are a few details….

In Light of the Dance, a feature film being produced by Curliss Entertainment and Hey Girl Hey Entertainment has attached Karina Smirnoff, ballroom’s top female dancer to the production. Smirnoff best known for her accolades on Dancing With The Stars has recently branched out as an actress, starring in the lead role in the theatrical short Across Grace Alley that was produced by her former DWTS partner Ralph Macchio.

The film evolves around the stage show hit Burn The Floor. Since 1999 Burn the Floor has thrilled audiences around the world. Years before Dancing With The Stars and So You Think You Can Dance turned ballroom dancing into must-see TV, this sizzling Ballroom and Latin dance spectacular was setting stages ablaze and will now be making its debut on the silver screen.

Too cool! More at PRlog.

DWTS Mark Ballas And Derek Hough Buy New Home In Hollywood Hills, California

TMZ is reporting via “official documents” that Derek Hough and Mark Ballas bought a home in Hollywood Hills, California. Below are a few details. You can read more and see pictures of the house at TMZ. As we posted at Pure Derek Hough earlier, it looks beautiful and now Derek’s dog Romey will have even more of room to run and play. It will also be a close drive to work….and nice place to get away from the city hustle and bustle at night. Or maybe they will just rent it out to someone? Whatever the case, it’s a smart investment move too as well for the both of them on top of their other properties! Note: As @karinaFan reminding us at twitter earlier, Karina Smirnoff has a home in the vicinity which looks similar. Karina also has other properties as an investment. We also think Cheryl Burke also owns several properties. If you know of the other pros owning more than one home or properties, let us know.

TMZ has learned … the “Dancing with the Stars” pros — who also happen to be BFFAEs — just went halfsies on a quaint little place in the Hollywood Hills.

Official documents show … the best buds each threw in on the $1.275 mil home … which comes equipped with a massive closet, fabulous kitchen and a spa bath that could easily fit two.

The master bathroom even contains his and his sinks.

Dancing with the Stars Welcomes New Musical Director And Band To Season 18

Ok, so I know there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the nixing of the Dancing With The Stars orchestra. I loved them too, but, I think this change is going to be a good one. If you watched the recent Emmy Awards, then you know what I mean. More below from BroadwayWorld.com on the new musical director for Dancing With The Stars Ray Chew…and his BAND. Thanks to @DWTSgossip for the heads up. Let us know what you think.

“Dancing with the Stars” will welcome Music Director and Composer Ray Chew to the ballroom with the premiere of season 18 on Monday, March 17 at 8:00 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Chew’s band will feature a new line-up of live musicians and singers performing music ranging from the latest pop hits to the great standards of the past.

Conrad Green, Executive Producer of “Dancing with the Stars” said, “Live music is the lifeblood of DWTS and we couldn’t be more excited to be working with Ray and his talented band. Ray is one of the most versatile and dynamic musicians working today. It promises to be a spectacular season.”

Ray Chew commented, “I’m looking forward to continuing the musical legacy established on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ a show that respects live music and musicians. It is important to me and to the producers to maintain the integrity of the music presentation for the dancers as well as for the viewers. Towards that end, my approach will be to utilize first class live vocalists, arrangers, copyists and musicians of all instruments.”

Chew has most recently served as the Music Director of the 65th Annual Emmy® Awards. He has also been seen on such network television series and specials as “American Idol,” “It’s Showtime at the Apollo,” and additional historic landmark events ranging from President Obama’s Inaugural Neighborhood Ball to the Democratic National Convention. Chew also conducted a 63 piece orchestra for Carnegie Hall’s sold out “A Night of Inspiration,” a live event he produced as part of their diversity series.

ETA: Ray Chew has been tweeting about his new position on DWTS. He tweeted;

Much respect to the legacy of Harold Wheeler and what he’s done on Dancing With The Stars! I’ve spoken to Harold – my good friend and mentor for many years -and he’s given me his blessings moving forward. I look forward to supporting the dancers w/ live musicians of various configurations, determined by the style & genre of each perf. This will be an exciting season for all of us – tune in to #DWTS March 17th on @ABCNetwork!!!

Awesome. Let’s wish him the best!
