More and more this sounds like a “go” especially with @DWTSgossips new hints as well? If true though, who will be their partners? I hope Derek and Emma or Sharna!!

Since Meryl probably asked for Derek it wouldn’t surprise me if Charlie may have asked for a seasoned pro. Like Cheryl or Karina. But I would love it if Emma managed to get Charlie as her partner.

Charlie seems like a guy that loves to laugh and Emma is adorable & funny.
But, to coincide with their new tour, Julianne should return to dance with Charlie! Get her warmed up for the tour. It was his idea.
Unless Julianne has some movie to promote, she ain’t comin’ back to DWTS.
In anticipation of hopefully having Davis & White on DWTS, I watched some of their past youtubes and wow! Their free skate at the 2013 Worlds (which they won) was amazing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkLwFvvu6fE I would love to see Emma with Charlie!
To be honest I’m not too thrilled about this. I want Meryl and Charlie to defend their World Championship title rather than participating in the new but dubious DWTS, haha. But if they are part of the cast, I will be voting for them. Looks like Meryl will get Derek and that should be great. I’d love to see Emma with Charlie too! But if not her, I’d love Karina or Sharna.
Didn’t Meryl and Charlie say they would be doing Worlds, though it’s in Japan Mar 24-30 ?? Don’t know how that would be possible.

mimi, they haven’t said whether they are going to Worlds. It looks like that could depend on DWTS or vice versa. If not, the US has 3 strong dance teams to send to Worlds, so all is fine in my book. It’s not like the US needs them to go to secure 2015 Worlds spots.
My dream is Meryl with Derek or Henry, Charlie with Emma or Sharna. I love Karina but I don’t think they would be the best match
I’m sure they will be beautiful to watch, but we pretty much already have 2 finalists locked in with them. Takes a bit of the fun of competition and suspense out if in a way, though I guess you could say that many seasons of the ringers. Still overall should be awesome.
More food for thought: Meryl & Charlie might end up splitting the “Olympian” vote. It could get dicey, with fans of “Meryl & Charlie, the couple” having to chose between voting for Meryl OR Charlie, the individuals.

I go for Derek & Cheryl too. Karina have had too many ringers already. Technically Cheryl never had very talented partner with exception of Gilles ( Just raw talent, not a ringer). I think Cheryl is over due for someone somehow trained to move. I say give Charlie to Cheryl. She had too many very challenging partners already and Jack was no exception last season.
Karina had Corbin last season who is much more talented than Amber, and somehow Derek out played her in many ways. Who’s to say that she can beat Derek now if she got Charlie? Give Cheryl talented partner for once. Cheryl is exceptional with the right talent, and I still think she’s the best female pro in the group . Derek and Cheryl never had the same level of talent in a season, and I think this is the time to make their two most popular pros go head to head.

Kristyn Burtt brought up a good point that Meryl and Charlie still haven’t withdrawn from Worlds. The deadline to withdraw is this coming Monday. Worlds is 3/24 – 3/30 in Japan so not sure if they could do both. I guess if they don’t compete until later in the week maybe they could do it? I don’t know much about how figure skating competitions work and if they would need to be there from the start. What do people think?
Honestly, I think Charlie would be great with anyone other than Peta. Including Karina. Yeah, she had Corbin who was a ringer – but Charlie would be a ringer on a whole other level and, frankly, I want to see what he can do. So I want to see him with the best female on the show and that is Karina. Cheryl would be fine too, actually.
DLT, logistically they could pull it off. I checked out the World’s web site and the ice dance competition is March 28th-29th. They would perform on DWTS Week 2 on Monday the 24th then fly to Japan. Compete at Worlds on Friday and Saturday and fly back to LA. However, the jet lag, alone, would be brutal.
From a DWTS perspective they should be OK. Even if their Week 3 dances are undertrained and kinda sloppy, it’s early enough in the season that they should be safe from elimination. Not sure if they’d have enough focus to take Gold at Worlds, though. So is it worse to not show up to defend your title or show up and not perform at the top of your game?
@Cidra – thanks for the info! You’re right, logistically it could work, that was my only concern. Sure it will be a long week for them and a lot of jet lag but I feel like they are the type that don’t mind having one tough week in the grand scheme of things.
You’re welcome, and I agree with you that they wouldn’t bat an eye at one tough week especially since it’s so early in the DWTS season. also, I’m sure they’ve worked through quite a bit of jet lag over the years.
I dunno, I’ve heard them say that they were going to rest, go back to school, that they’d love to do DWTS, etc. When asked about future competitions they have said “we don’t know”. I’ve also heard that they’re going to retire. So, out of everything they’ve said, they seemed LEAST sure about future ice dancing competitions.
I agree Heidi – Karina is the best female pro on the show.
Honestly, I can’t imagine Cheryl being paired with Charlie at all. And as much as I love my girl Emma the more I think about it I don’t think they would pair her with Charlie. If Meryl manages to get a seasoned pro then so should Charlie.
Although I would LOVE to see this pair on DWTS this season I am afraid it doesn’t look too promising… đ According to our local newspaper, The Detroit News, the duo said they plan on touring this Spring with the “Stars On Ice” and will be back home here on April 27th with the tour. I am totally bummed as I had hoped to see them dance apart with different partners. Derek would be my choice for Meryl and Emma or Sharna for Charlie. I will keep my fingers crossed that the newspaper has it wrong!
Again, Evan toured while doing DWTS – not an automatic out.
They have confirmed Stars on Ice for 20 shows and yes Evan did it as well. The SOI shows are typically Wed-Sun so not really a conflict with Monday night.
I am more upset about Worlds as well. I wanted them to go for a 3rd Gold Medal. Maybe they still will. Since they’ll be in LA already, the flight is a bit shorter and perhaps they have already agreed not to appear in SOI that week. I haven’t checked the SOI schedule very closely though.

But isn’t camera blocking usually on Sunday?
True Aviva, but, they could still get their camera blocking in at any time Sunday or Monday before the show. Adding: I canât remember the circumstances and who it was, but, theyâve done camera blocking on Monday too in some instances.
Sharna mentioned that she and Keyshawn did their camera blocking early on Mondays last season due to his commitment with ESPN. Given that and Evan being able to do both at the same time, it makes the possibility even greater.
