PureDWTS Season 18 Week 1 Guest Poem: “The Shamrock Shake”

Lois is back with another one of her fun poems. This time she writes a poem for the premiere of Dancing With The Stars Season 18. Good job, Lois!

SEASON 18 OPENS WITH A QUAKE AND MORE SHAKE-UPS THAN:

THE SHAMROCK SHAKE!

Los Angeles was shaken by a St Patrick’s Day earthquake
Season 18 has more shake-ups than THE SHAMROCK SHAKE

THE SHAMROCK SHAKE, shaken and stirred by the pros
A dancing extravaganza full of sexy, spiffy, shining glows

A new band graced the stage, a new band director Ray Chew
Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews a new co-host point of view

The skybox returned, the judge’s table back where it belongs
Carrie Ann, Bruno and Len ready to discern rights from wrongs

The time came we waited, waited months so impatiently for
The new cast of Season 18 was finally introduced on the floor

Their nerves were shaking, their adrenalin pumping for sure
Standing in their line of glory, awaiting their chance to score

NeNe and Tony danced a Cha-Cha with soul, fringe, and sass
Danica and Val danced a Foxtrot with precision and with class

James and Peta danced a Foxtrot fluid, zesty, and full of pizzazz
Cody and Witney Cha-Cha exploding with flashy razz-ma-tazz

Drew, Cheryl Foxtrot shook up THE SHAMROCK SHAKE in green
Amy, Derek Cha-Cha created an inspirational, sensational scene

Meryl welcomes Max with a Cha-Cha full of spirit, full of speed
Sharna and Charlie’s Contemporary a lift extravaganza indeed

Candace, Mark’s Contemporary had floor mirror images so fine
Sean and Karina’s Contemporary had serious flair and fine line

Billy Dee, Emma dusted off the Star Wars Theme for Cha-Cha
Diana and Henry dove into a Foxtrot to many an ooh and aah

We welcome the shaken and stirred, THE SHAMROCK SHAKE
We lift our pints of Irish brew to the show the icing on ABC cake!

THE SHOW SHAKEN AND STIRRED, THE SHAMROCK SHAKE!
WE WELOME BACK THE SHOW, THE ICING ON THE ABC CAKE!

James Maslow Writes Of His Relationship With Peta Murgatroyd And New Dance For DWTS Week 2

James Maslow has penned a new blog at Parade.com. He felt good about his performance on Monday night. He also writes of he and Peta’s relationship and how Producers exaggerated it during their package which we all figured so (come on TPTB, keep it real. we aren’t stupid). Also, he writes of the Switch Up dance and what he and Peta are planning for next week which you read about below. Also, watch KIIS FM as they did an interview with them last night that they may post audio for later.

When it comes to the big switch they keep talking about, they tell us very little, so I’m not sure if it’s going to happen next week. They’ve described multiple different scenarios where we can choose to go back to our partner if we like or that could be a fan vote as well. I hope that I have the choice to go back to Peta because we’ve worked really hard together already; we’ve established a team and I don’t want to start over with somebody else. Please don’t take this out of context in a dating sense, but I don’t want to shun Peta with some other dancer. She’s spending her time and effort to understand me, it’s like a little relationship that you’re developing throughout this for all of the contestants.

As for next week, I think the salsa is cool and I’m excited to do the second dance and do something different than the foxtrot. I’m so sick of frame! I started to appreciate it more than ever. My back is sore, let’s do something that’s not as upper-body demanding. I think if I can take anything away from the first performance it’s as soon as I forgot about the crowd, just as if I was performing on tour, I started having fun and people noticed. Even if the dance wasn’t perfect, they enjoyed that aspect. I want to continue to remember that and continue to have fun.

Afterbuzz And Gleb Savchenko Review DWTS Season 18 Week 1 (Video)

Below is Kristyn Burtt and the Afterbuzz team with their first critique of the new season of Dancing With The Stars. Gleb Savchenko joins them to review the night (aww, it’s so good to see him again!!) as well. I was in agreement with most everything until Suri commented on how she could have done without Drew’s performance. Really, Suri? Wow, he made me totally smile. Anna gets a little critical of Charlie’s steps too. Anyway, listen through and see if you agree with them. Also note that Gleb talks all about his new underwear line at the end as well as an upcoming party. *Can’t wait for some coverage of that. 😀 Ok, here you go…

Fun Video Of Cody Simpson And Witney Carson Preparing For Dancing With The Stars

Below Cody Simpson and Witney Carson talk about how they’ve been getting ready for Dancing With The Stars. The beginning is so cute for how Cody cries as if he’s in pain…he does it elsewhere in other parts of the video. Too cute! You can preview his new single “Surfboard” at the end.

ETA: People has a new article up today as well. Below is a take about how much he loves to groove…

As for competing on season 18 of ABC’s hit show, Simpson calls it “more nerve-racking” than a typical performance he’s done, “because this is so new. You have three people watching your every move. You have a lot of people in the room and then millions of people behind the lenses. It’s a lot to take in.”

But regardless of where – and how – he performs, Simpson insists, “I love being on stage and I love to groove, so it’s been fun. It’s nice to get the first routine out of the way.”

And it doesn’t hurt that Carson believes in him every step of the process.

“I was stressing about it for so long and I wanted to make a big impact with Cody,” the first-year pro told PEOPLE. “I feel so lucky to have him as a partner. He’s such a hard worker. I think we killed it tonight, and I’m really happy about it.”
