Former DWTS Co-Host Samantha Harris To Have Double Mastectomy
Be thinking and sending positive thoughts and prayers to Samantha Harris. According to People, the former co-host of dancing With The Stars has to have a double mastectomy. Sad! I hope she’s going to be ok!
Samantha Harris reveals that later this month she will undergo surgery for a double mastectomy to treat breast cancer.
In a routine self-examination last fall, Harris, 40, detected a lump in her right breast. She had a clean mammogram shortly before but something still didn’t feel right, so she saw a breast cancer specialist months later.
A needle biopsy and later lumpectomy led to a diagnosis Harris that did not expect: breast cancer.
“It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest,” the former Dancing with the Stars co-host says of the news.
Samantha, my thoughts and prayers will be with you during this difficult time.
My thoughts and prayers for Samantha. I had a friend die of breast cancer after a clean mammogram – good for her for listening to her instincts about her body.
Thinking healing thoughts and wishing Samantha all the best for a positive outcome! Goes to show modern medical technology (as amazing as it often can be) is *not* infallible. It’s just another item in our wellness toolbox. We also must continue to listen to our body.
My Aunt had a double mastectomy a month or so ago. Three months after being told she was cancer free from her first diagnosis. It was found on an MRI she got for some reason I can’t remember at the moment. I’ll have to ask her. Mammograms are great but not always 100%.
I’m sorry about your friend Heidi.
My prayers are with Samantha. She is now part of a club no woman really wants to be a part of.
Samantha and her family are in my prayers. Terrifying how much younger women are getting that are getting breast cancer.
Prayers for Samantha…. I always liked her on DWTS, I know many did not. She and Brooke have always been a positive light on the show. I do hope and pray she successfully fights it…. She’s got 2 young girls who need 2 parents.
It’s definitely a very scary disease, I also have a friend who fought it…. Fortunately, she’s had better results than PH…. First, she had a stroke several years ago, and recovered well from that, and last year was dx’d with breast cancer…. Scary for her and her husband, since his first wife died from the same disease.
Thank goodness she went with her gut feeling and got a second opinion.
My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. God bless!
Thoughts and prayers for you, Samantha. Also to your loved ones.
