PureDWTS Season 18, Week 5 – Disney Week Song Predictions/Wish List!!!

Bye-bye, gadawful switch week – helllloooo, Disney week! This may be the one good idea TPTB have had the entire season 😀 Sounds like a lot of you are pretty pumped about it – so why not get even more excited by compiling a song wish list and seeing if we might be able to predict what everyone might be dancing to, shall we?

Vogue & I came up with a list of the most popular Disney songs we could think of and divided them up by dance style – Deep Throat indicated that all the songs were probably going to be very well-known, so while I think it would be totes appropos to see Maks dancing to “Gaston” from Beauty & the Beast, it’s probably far more likely that he & Meryl have a song like “Beauty & the Beast” or “Be Our Guest”.

If you didn’t catch it yesterday, some of the couples revealed some clues about their dances in this media post Vogue posted yesterday.  Some other clues, which I revealed on Twitter yesterday? Both Meryl & Charlie have eschewed the expected “Disney princess/prince” roles that some were hoping they’d assume this week, and are both going for “something different”.  And because Peta is about as subtle as a sledgehammer (thanks, emojis) I’ll go ahead and throw out one song spoiler: James & Peta are, indeed, doing contemporary to “Let it Go” from Frozen. Happy Hump Day, kids 😉

“So This is Love” – from Cinderella (used as Sabrina & Louis’ waltz in season 15 – see below)

“Someday My Prince Will Come” – from Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs

“You’ve Got a Friend in Me” – from Toy Story (used as Hope & Maks’ foxtrot in season 13 – see below)

“Friend Like Me” – from Aladdin (used as Shawn & Mark’s quickstep in season 8 – see below)

“Bear Necessities” – from The Jungle Book (used as Chad & Cheryl’s quickstep in season 10 – see below)

“Be Our Guest” – from Beauty & the Beast

“Hakuna Matata” – from The Lion King

“Under the Sea” – from The Little Mermaid

“True to Your Heart” – from Mulan

“I Wanna Be Like You” from The Jungle Book (used as Jack & Cheryl’s samba trio with Sharna last season – see below)

“Colors of the Wind” – from Pocahontas

“Kiss the Girl” – from The Little Mermaid

“Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” – from The Lion King

“Heigh-Ho” – from Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs

“Be Prepared” – from The Lion King

Jive:

“Why Should I Worry?” – from Oliver & Company

Other songs (doesn’t fit perfectly with the styles above – could be jazz or contemporary):

“Let it Go” from Frozen (confirmed: James & Peta’s contemporary song for Disney week)

“A Whole New World” from Aladdin

“Beauty & the Beast” from Beauty & the Beast

“Circle of Life” from The Lion King

So those are our picks – what are yours? What songs are you hoping to see on Disney week, and what dances do you want to see the couples doing to those songs? Keep an eye out for Heidi’s “Who’s Dancing What?” post to drop – cause we’ve got the whole song & dance list comin’ atcha soon 😉
