Dancing with the Stars season 18 week 5 is in the books. As always, be sure to check out our full list of Dancing with the Stars music throughout the season. That page will update each week as we post the music. Of course, most of these songs you likely already know and Court already spoiled them anyway. We’ll still list them for posterity’s sake.
Drew & Cheryl danced a Quickstep to the song “Friend Like Me”
Charlie & Sharna danced a Jazz to the song “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from the movie Mary Poppins
Danica & Val danced a Quickstep to the song “Be Our Guest” from the movie Beauty and the Beast
Amy & Derek danced a Waltz to the song “So This Is Love” from the movie Cinderella
Cody & Witney danced a Samba to the song “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” from the movie The Lion King
NeNe & Tony danced a Foxtrot to the song “Cruella de Vil” from the movie One Hundred and One Dalmatians
James & Peta danced a Contemporary to the song “Let It Go” from the movie Frozen
Meryl & Maks danced a Samba to the song “I Wan’na Be Like You (The Monkey Song)” from the movie The Jungle Book
Candace & Mark danced a Samba to the song “Under the Sea” from the movie The Little Mermaid
I’m back in the saddle again…oh, wait, that’s not a Disney song. I have a feeling this damn music is going to be stuck in my head for DAYS. 🙂 Anyway, Heidi here, with the recap- as-I-feel-like-it method of blogging.
LOVED the opening number. Love. Made me happy.
Eight minutes into the show and we’ve already heard TWICE how Donny won. Once from him, once from either Erin or Tom.
I would have killed Len if he had picked on Drew for breaking hold. Pisses me OFF that their damn animation is probably dictating choreography.
Gee, Danica looked great in that preview for someone who isn’t a dancer. :::cough:::
Holy shit! Sorry john, but that’s all I can think of after Charlie’s dance. I’ll be pissed if he doesn’t get a ten or 3 – it was just a cane!
Danica’s dance was very cute! Yes, Len, she is a fantastic dance. She’s a ringer!
Okay, she was overscored, folks. Our news “story”.
I forgot to mention Cody in Jeopardy…if he’s safe tonight he will be for a while. Let’s talk riled Fanbase.
:::sob::: That was beautiful, Amy.
I really liked NeNe’s dance. Don’t know what to say about that package, but I guess Tony was honest.
I guess some fans don’t much care if they are perceived as soulless….I guess it’s good to have goals.
Wow. Great dance from James – first perfect score and he ain’t even the big ole ringer!
Meryl’s dance was well executed, but pretty uninspired compared to the rest of the dances of the night.
I wonder if NeNe’s going because they gave her such a great score.
So, Mark’s the crab? 🙂
Donny: “me me me me”
I was kind of hope they would call Candace safe right there. That would have made it exciting.
And that shocking elimination we were all wondering about? Well it happened tonight. Although it wasn’t really that shocking. I kind of wondered if Candace had a good voting Fanbase. And to all of you wondering about teenybopper fans and guys with huge Twitter following? There’s your answer.;
I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)
Peta tells People that Cheryl Burke cracked the whip on James last week and returned him in fine form. She also gives a sneak peek on tonight’s new dance and their costumes too.
Cheryl returned him in fine form. She cracked the whip on him, which was really good. She was harsh on him and he learned a lot. I had already taught him a lot before, she just brushed him up on it all. His skills are much better than they were on week one.
For Disney week I can’t say exactly what movie we’re doing or whether I’ll be a princess, but I can say I’m going to be a pretty lady. The costumes are going to be extraordinary.
I can’t wait to see them. To this team tonight. I hope they do well.

Cheryl Burke has written a new blog at Access Hollywood. She writes about last week Switch up dances and then she sets us up for tonight’s dance. It’s been a hard week. Read on to see why and more at the link. I hope they will be ok. I love these two….
He’s a little bit stressed because the quickstep is a fast dance, a longer dance this week because there’s only a few more couples left – there’s like nine or eight couples left and so he’s just got lots of steps to learn and poor guy, he’s just exhausted, so it’s really hard for him to retain information right now, but it is one of his favorite movies and songs that we’re dancing to for Disney Week. I know he’ll be great for Monday, but right now, we’re just still trying to figure everything out and on Thursday night we took his jet over to Palm Beach and then we only each got like two or three hours of sleep. On Friday, as soon as we finished rehearsal, he had to do two shows that night and two shows Saturday night, stand up.
For me, I’m just used to this schedule. I just go with the flow this week. It’s not even my schedule, it’s his schedule. I don’t even know how he’s doing it. He’s the hardest working man in show business and I just hope that – he came from such a strong week last week so I’m pushing him extra hard. I definitely upped the choreography and I’m challenging him.
I just wish we didn’t have quickstep this week because of his schedule, but he is mentally and physically exhausted and normally, we’re at the halfway point and everyone just naturally gets that way, but on top of his travelling schedule and shooting “The Price is Right,” he’s feeling it, he’s feeling really tired. I’m trying to stay as positive as possible. I know we’ll get through it. I know he will, he’s a performer, but right now, we’re going through the, ‘Oh my God, are we going to be able to do this type thing???’

What a great new interview with Charlie White and Meryl Davis! They talk about the Switch Up dance on Dancing With The Stars last week, the competition, what it’s like competing against each other, and the new Stars On Ice Tour. They also give a little sneak peek into tonight’s dances on Dancing With The Stars. From TV Guide….
Is it odd to be going up against each other?
White: For Meryl and myself, it just really feels like we’re in it together still. I don’t know what it would take [for us to] actually be competing against each other. At this point, coming off of winning the Olympics … we just have a different mindset coming in. We feel like we’re doing a lot of this together. And in fact, we are. Right now we’re sitting in a car together and we’re traveling all over the country together and learning these steps, and we’re on the same journey together. Our approach to everything is really just about self-improvement. It’s not so much about competing against other people. That’s how it was on the ice, and that’s how it is on the ballroom floor. So, in that sense, we feel like we have each other’s support, and I think that makes it a lot easier.
Davis: It’s hard to explain. I guess technically speaking, we are competing against each other, but it couldn’t feel further from that. We’ve been on this incredible journey together for 17 years, and our interests have been aligned almost our entire lives, so we just have this team mentality. We have this natural support for one another that has been formed over such a long period of time, and in this circumstance, I feel like we’re supportive of one another. We are having fun together. We really feel like we’re in it together.Charlie, Erin Andrews told me last week that she feels like your personality is starting to come out more. Are you getting more comfortable in the ballroom?
White: It’s tough, with the change of dance, to get some consistency. But at the same time, I definitely do feel like I’m a lot more comfortable week to week. I do think it’s showing, and that’s super sweet of Erin to say. With the jive definitely, it was fun, and that is sort of my personality. That’s what I like to bring to everyday life, and not just the dance floor. Being able to sort of have that translate into a dance was special. What are you working on for this week?
White: This week is Disney week. I can’t tell you the song, but we’re doing jazz. I think the whole Disney thing is about cheerfulness, and so much of it for me and for a lot of the other dancers is sort of connecting with your childhood and what made you so happy back then. I think it’s going to be a very fun and funny week that everyone should look forward to.
Davis: Maks and I will be dancing a samba. I’m excited to get going with it. … I think it’s going to be a fun week.
