Maksim Chmerkovskiy Thinks Meryl Davis Deserves To Win DWTS More Than Anyone On The Show
Below is a new interview with Maks Chmerkovskiy and KTLA! He talks of how he couldn’t stay quiet on Dancing With The Stars on Monday night because of the critique from Abbey Miller. He also talks of Meryl Davis and of how she deserves to win more than anyone on the show. Oh really? 😕
ALL FIVE of the contestants left deserve to win, not just Meryl. That’s all I say on that subject.
And this is a total aside, but sometimes the autoplay on the KTLA videos bugs me to no end! Especially when there’s 2 of them on the front page! 🙂
To bad Maks has been on this show for 14 seasons and still has not figured out how it works. I believe everyone left deserves to win. They all have worked hard and have entertained the audiences every week.
so does he think Meryl is better than Charlie?
I wish I was surprised by what he said.
*eye roll* Whatever you say, Maks…
…as I said in my rankings, Maks does not “get it”, nor will he ever “get it”. Which is why I think there’s a good chance he’ll remain MBT-less after this season wraps.
Poor Meryl. I think she probably will win, because it seems the show wants to give Maks his MBT, but he’s not making it easy for her.
#Ananya, (in my most sarcastic voice) of course Meryl is better then Charlie (*eye roll*) look at the judges scores. As Derek has said in the past everyone deserves to be in the final for different reasons.
Oh dear, he really needed not to say that. Fact is Meryl did have sickled feet on the floor and it has to do with his coaching of her. He should have corrected that imo. Even if he was set up by the interviewer he could have been a lot more cautious in his reply and defence of her. If that interview gets widely circulated it will cause Meryl trouble.
With his attitude , I would hope that Maks remains MBT-less but I’m seeing an awful lot of support for him over the fact that he’s never won it. It reminds me of Tony in all star season.
Really, Maks?? Just *how* does Meryl deserve to win more than anyone else on the show? While you might be able to make a case that she’s the “best” dancer (but how does one really define that – technique? emotionality? selling the performance?), I think you could also make a strong case for Charlie being the best dancer, however it’s defined. He’s certainly had harder choreography and overcome greater challenges. Meryl isn’t the undisputed master. And as much as you may not *like* ALM, she had a point about Meryl’s feet. Both Shirley Ballas and Kristyn Burtt mentioned them on the AB show. And what about your comments in previous seasons that the show is about growth and taking someone who can’t dance and getting them to dance? Candace and Amy and even James have shown more growth than Meryl, so she shouldn’t win by that criteria. And while Meryl’s working hard, so is everyone else – and if we were to talk about who has had to work the *hardest*, that would be Amy.
My point is that Meryl doesn’t deserve the trophy any more than Charlie or Amy (or even Candace or James).
Oh Maks, see this is why you make it tough to defend you. At this point I want Maks to win just so he can STFU about it and move the heck on.
I liken this to how I feel about the Cubs. I’m in Chicago and a huge White Sox/baseball fan, but I live up near Wrigley and I’m *SO* tired of hearing about how much people want the Cubs to win and end the stupid “curse”. I have no desire for them to actually win, but when it does finally happen it will be worth enduring to put an end to the asinine talk about how their fans “deserve” it.
i think that every pro believes their partner deserves to win. they all have put weeks of hard work into the dances, so I don’t necessarily believe that his comment was meant as a diss to the other stars, i took it as paying homage to meryl’s work. sure his wording wasn’t perfect, but then again, when is it ever!
Whether or not he meant it as one, lucy, I can certainly see where it would come across to some as an insult.
Mama Spence just texted me the following: “So I watched that Maks interview. He’s like the Kanye West of DWTS…he’s all ‘Charlie, Amy, James, Candace, I’mma let you have your moment…but Meryl’s the greatest DWTS contestant of all time!!!'”
I want ButterflyWhirl on my team !!!! You totally rock.
Meh, all the pros back their partners. I saw his remark coming from the point of view he didn’t want that horrid woman, her remarks, and his comment about her to take away or negatively impact Meryl’s chances.
What Susan said!
And LOL Court. I love Mama Spence!
I think so too Court. He will never get it and he will only have himself to blame.
Thanks, Susan!
Re:#10 – the only problem with letting him win so he will shut up, is that he probably won’t shut up. Tony hasn’t really shut up; he talks about his win more than Derek talks about all of his *combined*. It will just change from “I haven’t won yet, so I should win” to “I *finally* won, people *finally* saw the light, etc”.
Er, again I point to the distinct difference between Derek and Maks. A SMART pro would say “They all deserve to win for different reasons.” which Derek HAS said on more than one occasion. Even if he follows that statement with “But I really want ___ to win because of ___” there’s much less negative impact. He’s stating a fact followed by a personal preference. Maks just blathers on, stupidly sticking his foot in it once again. He’s apparently incapable of learning or he sees some value in being “real” (except when it’s other people directing THEIR “real” at HIM).
I mean, really – he complains about ALM in one breath and follows in the next breath with commentary just as bad in many people’s eyes.
The thing is, as much as I seriously detest Maks, I know there are circumstances under which I’d be perfectly fine with him winning. There was that brief shining moment when he cut through his crap and created that phenomenal tango with Meryl. Loved it, loved them. I remember having a hard time believing I was the one saying those things in my post. Had he continued on that road with that energy, I would be perfectly ok with him winning because in addition to Meryl’s excellence, he would have gone through substantial growth along the way. But alas, that indeed did turn out to be a brief shining moment which is now utterly, hopelessly, sadly gone. We’ve come back to the same crapola. It’s hard to fathom just how dense he is to not realize how he alienates people (yes Mama Spence, totally Kanye-esque) and harms his (and his partner’s) chances by behaving the way he does.
This is the first season I’ve been watching the show. I’ve never ever watched but of course by social media I know most of the dancers and how their personalities comes through. I don’t know how Maks has spoken before but as I watched last Mondays show and reading articles and such, everyone agreed with Maks remarks and he even said that he doesn’t like the way ALM teaches. Mark said he agreed with him and we could all see Derek clapping above his head behind them. I think Maks is the type of person that just doesn’t think through what he says really before and I don’t think he means anything bad by this. I think everyone thinks this of their partners, they don’t say it out loud much like the comment about ALM. Anyway. I think it’s gonna be between Amy and Meryl and Amy will prevail. Us Swedish people have a more outspoken nature so I can relate to what he means.
Sure, ALM was right. But then she lost her cred by giving James a 10. Come on! Amy deserved every single point she was given.
I was thinking along the same line as:
If Maks does win, he will finally shut up about never winning a MBT. And, also his insidious fans. But, first their will be overly done bragging and then back to Val’s fans saying it’s his time to get a MBT. It will never end when it comes to the C brother.
As for Meryl deserving the MBT, I agree with everyone, ALL the couples left deserve it!
And, Maks needs to zip it, because he is not doing his partner any good spouting off like he in the above video.
Mama Spence rocks.
I have to say that I laughed when read his quote. When Maks starts acting like he deserves to be taken seriously, then I’ll take him seriously. Otherwise I’ll laugh and roll my eyes so far back in my head that I can see my cerebellum at his foot in mouth antics.
Meryl however, deserves to be taken seriously. She deserves a pro that puts her needs ahead of his own.
I think he felt personally attacked by ALM and he went on the counter attack. He is a bit like a junk yard dog. Remember how many weeks he went on about “phoning it in” which he took personally also and went on about in interviews. I think his behaviour could very well influence people against voting for them though. Particularly some of Val’s fans who might be independent enough to vote for Charlie or Candace and not the “fam”. wonder how Meryl feels – embarrassed or in agreement with his speaking out like that.
#13 — OMG that was brilliant… Couldn’t have said it better “Mama Spence”
I guess if its not “Meryl” that wins whoever it is better hold on tight to the MBT-LOLOLOL
I see the Maksyl fans have released the flying monkeys to try and shut us “big meanies” up. 😛 Time to take out the garbage…
I don’t see a huge problem with this, besides the way Maks worded it. I will watch again but it was a 2 minute interview so many things could have been cut and added. Everyone already knows Maks says what he feels and sometimes it’s no worded appropriately- blame that on his background or bluntness, whatever it may be. But there is no doubt in my mind each pro thinks their celeb partner deserves to win. No doubt. Just like Monday, Maks just states what everyone else is thinking but too scared to say. Was it the smartest? Probably not, but Maks isn’t the type to care.
Flying monkeys indeed. 🙂
The problem I have with it is not Maks thinking or stating that he thinks Meryl deserves to win. If he had actually said that, fine. No big deal. What he said, though, is that Meryl deserves to win *more* than any of the other celebs – and *that’s* what I take issue with.
Honestly, I feel like Maks is trying to support his partner in any way he can, he just doesn’t have the same finesse that Derek has with saying it. I also happened to agree with his comments back to Abby Lee…mainly because she has horrid teaching methods and he was speaking out against that mainly. All the pros did so after the show. Maks just chose not to bite his tongue while on camera. Should he have bit his tongue until after the show? Probably, but you can’t undo what’s already been done.
@Courtney- Dying laughing in the office. Love a good mama spence quote
@Brook- I think people are upset because he said she deserves to win MORE than anybody else. I personally like Meryl and do think she deserves to win. She’s worked her butt off. But…every other contestant has worked really hard and is dancing well and I don’t think any of them deserve is less than Meryl.
#19 @PHeidi
You hit the nail right on the head! Maks can dish it out but he can’t take it when he’s on the receiving end. He should practice what he preaches. Better yet, he needs to observe Derek’s ways and learn from them; but, doubt that would ever happen. Funny thing is that Julianne’s comments were true and so was ALM about Meryl’s cycle feet. Also, that Dance Duel the C. brothers put together seemed like it was “phoned in” also.
Absolutely ButterflyWhirl, can you imagine Derek, Sharna, Mark, or Peta saying that? Totally dismissing the works of others
Exactly, Kaitlyn – and I think that’s what a lot of the apologists are conveniently missing. Of course every pro thinks their celeb deserves to win – I take issue with the arrogance of Maks thinking that his partner is somehow more deserving than any of the others. Everyone has worked hard. EVERYONE has improved. Everyone has a great attitude…so why is Meryl somehow “above” them?
Maks and Abbey have the same problem….they speak before they think. I do not care for Abbey and her methods, but when Maks made his comment, I cringed. I really felt for Meryl, she is so sweet. The producers want them to win and I am afraid they will figure out a way to make that happen. All season it has been praise them for everything, their dance was great but not a true Rumba. They called out Charlie, but overlooked their dance. I like the way Charlie, Amy, Candace have really improved and all three have a strong fan base.
I like James, also but I am afraid he will go. I hope the fans stay true to what the show was supposed to represent and not poor Maks has not won a MBT and we will give him a great partner and this will be his time. I really do not want him to win, but do like Meryl.
His old personality came out and may have cost him.
The only time I have seen Meryl at her best was with Val. I think Meryl would have been pushed to excel if Val had been her partner. Not a fan of either of the C boys but Maks can not seem to find exactly who he wants to be. Perhaps Derek could help Maks find his way.
Because she’s had to spend so much time with him?
Now here’s me making fun of me, one of PH favorite defenses that I’ve been too guilty of in the past: it’s a language problem.
What some people can’t seem to distinguish is the difference between *wanting* someone to win, or having someone be their favorite, and said favorite *deserving* to win. It seems the thought process goes, “X is my favorite and the person *I* want to see win; therefore, X deserves to win, more than anyone else.”
Also, #37 – LOL
Once again, it’s a failure of the apologists in reading comprehension – perhaps intentional failure. They always seem to parse out the problem word or change the *meaning* of the sentence entirely. Either this is stupidity, hypersensitivity or willful ignorance…beats me. I just saw a comment on twitter from a Maks fan saying something like “Well, I guess Derek doesn’t want Amy to win then.” Ummm…yo, where the hell did you get THAT from and why do you twist it back to Derek. This is the whole “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!!” syndrome. LOL. Please look up the words “want” “deserves” and “more” in the dictionary and get back to me.
PH – re:#39 – Thanks for the laughs! I really enjoyed your last sentence. 😀
Silly Maks. That was an empty, pointless kinda interview he gave on the top of the roof with his hair blowing in the breeze. LOL I really enjoy watching Meryl and Maks dance. Its too bad he is so dramatic. In the beginning of the season he said he enjoyed Meryl so much because he didn’t have to be a babysitter or psychiatrist like he is in most seasons with dramatic celebrities. But the past month he has been dramatic in rehearsal and doing this silly interview. Wahhh its annoying Maks!
I just edited the title a tad: 🙂
“Maksim Chmerkovskiy Thinks *Maksim Chmerkovskiy* Deserves To Win DWTS More Than Anyone On The Show”
Now that’s more like it. hehe!
@PHeid #39 LOL! I think it’s all three (stupidity, hypersensitivity, & ignorance) They are all suffering from that decease called “head-over-ass- tin-cups-in-love-with-Maks’-looks.” And, they can’t get passed that to see his true character!
#41 Meli, LOL I was wondering the same thing about why he was being interviewed on a roof top. Weird.
LOL Sandy, love your title edit!
What really makes me shake my head is Maks honestly believes the stuff he says.
I don’t see this interview hurting Meryl’s chances of winning. Most people who watch the show will never see this interview. Now if he said it on the show, that *might* be different. As for speaking his mind about ALM on the show, sure it probably cost them a point from the beotch, but probably gained them votes from the viewers since I’m sure most of those watching agreed with him as much as the other pros did.
Anybody remember how pleasant it was the year Maks wasn’t on the show? Ah, the good ol’ days. If Maks and Meryl win, I just hope he takes his cheap-a$$ trophy and *goes away* — for good!
Barf…I like Meryl but I definitely feel that Maks is being a bit selfish and an attention whore. This entire season I’ve felt that the partnership has been all about Maks. Everything he says in the rehearsal packages and what he says to the judges is all about him and Meryl just kind of stands there not necessarily agreeing or disagreeing. I also thought he was really disrespectful to Danica, who is not only older, but had a point. He was just throwing a hissy fit because they weren’t getting it. I also felt a little let down by Val, because he didn’t really step in and stand up for Danica during the tense moment. Every one of them deserve to win, but Maks acts like he’s entitled to win.
@Cidra – “Anybody remember how pleasant it was the year Maks wasn’t on the show? Ah, the good ol’ days. If Maks and Meryl win, I just hope he takes his cheap-a$$ trophy and *goes away* — for good!””
AMEN TO THAT!!
I truly believe that he actually meant “I deserve to win more than anyone on the show”.
Here we go again. Maks, do you really not get it? Loved how he followed up with how he doesn’t want to be a liability because of what he said about ALM. Ha! You’re not being “real” but plain stupid because it’s obvious you do not know how the show works. This after being on so many seasons. I’ve watched all seasons of DWTS and recall how Maks was always complaining about the so called “ringers” winning. hmmm do you want to win because you had a ringer or win to show that you were capable of taking someone with no dance experience to a level that was unthinkable. Maybe it’s just me but I would chose the latter.
I still predict that Amy will win this (providing TPTB do not cheat)We’ll probably see Amy and Meryl the last two standing to create more drama you know. Hate to say it but I’m not really enjoying Meryl dances. BTW when did the show become all about Maks. These comments on other websites about him deserving to win….Somebody, Anybody please tell these people it’s not about the pros. Sure Derek is my favorite pro but do I care to see him win another MBT….meh! But I do like Amy and what’s she doing. And no I am not giving her sympathy votes. Hell, the woman just won an Olympic medal. Don’t think she needs any sympathy at all.
Yes, it is the more part that bugs. Same old Maks.
I think Meryl will win. And sure the fam will say see we won twice and each time beat Derek. Therefore we are far superior. Except they had ringers and pity they never won votes. I would be shocked if Meryl lost. She seems like a gift from tptb. Difference is Derek will congratulate whoever wins. Even he has to know how big Meryl’s fanbase is. While if ?Maks lost even to Sharna, there will be I am retiring from dwts speech.
Mama Spence got it right. He is the kanye of dwts
All I can say is: Oh really! I do like Meryl but Maks is making me hope more and more that Derek pulls off an awesome freestyle (like he always did) and Amy win the trophy or Charlie’s hard work finally get recognized and he win. I still think Maks does not know how to choreograph their freestyle and that could certainly cause their win even when the pimping goes all the way. That happened to Zendaya and Val, right? and that couple performed BETTER than M&M the whole season, imo.
Despite being handed a virtual winner on a silver mirror-ball platter, I don’t think Maks will get his win.
He’s a very polarizing pro. Some folks love him, yet I imagine there’s an equal number who can’t stand him. Also, his track record of doing a good free-style stinks on ice.
I have no doubt that they’ll get to the finals. I just don’t think Maks will have to worry about having a special pedestal built to display his shiny Mirrorball trophy anytime soon.
Although it’s a shame that Meryl’s talent was wasted on a pro that didn’t deserve it, I have no doubt that she’ll be just fine if she doesn’t win. She has an Olympic gold and silver medal as well as numerous other well-deserved skating titles sitting on her shelf at home. She doesn’t need the Mirrorball. Although I think she would prefer for Charlie to win, I think she would be equally happy to have Amy win. Because she’s an intelligent, well adjusted grown up.
Minor point — In addition to the Gold and Silver, Meryl and Charlie also have a Bronze Medal from the team competition.
I was quite surprised to see Tony’s tweet supporting Amy and Derek. It also reminded me that both Drew and Cory predicted/supported Amy winning. I have a feeling she’s getting massive votes, and with the freestyle Derek will create for her, I really do think she’s going to win. If there’s a fusion challenge (which I really hope for) I think Maks is not going to be happy (quelle surprise!!) and Derek will be his usual brilliant self. BTW, if anyone wants to get a look at Papa C, the Fam is doing a performance called “Sway” and they’re producing short videos documenting the whole process of putting it together. Papa C makes an appearance.
Yep, I’d forgotten about the bronze medal.
I think Val looks quite a bit like Papa C. Definitely more than Maks does.
Maks bar for freestyle is so low that even something as boring but clean like what Tony did for Melissa on all stars will probably be enough. Funny those complaints Derek just had Kellie pose in her freestyle when Tony did nothing but lifts with .melissa both in AT and freestyles. Derek makes his stars dance. Why these fans push these false ideas and how he only covers their weaknesses is ridiculous.
@Susan #20
“It’s hard to fathom just how dense he is to not realize how he alienates people…”
Because he really can’t help it. He is a textbook narcissist, imo. You know I was curious to see if he had really changed when he came back (naive me), was actually hoping he had learned some lessons while he was gone. But no. He doesn’t ‘get it’ and never will because he isn’t capable.
Maks is a great manipulator of other people for his own agenda. He behaves against any socially acceptable, civilized norm then blames the person next to him while patting himself on the back saying he did it for them. Of course he never asked them how they felt or their opinion.
When Maks went off on Len he told Hope, see I did that for you. I stick up for my partners.
When he was verbally abusing and scaring the hell out of Melissa Gilbert, he immediately blamed her for his behavior. It really is very disturbing.
If Meryl loses, I’ll be looking at Maks to see if he makes disparaging negative comments at any time, something Meryl would never do, and then say he’s doing it for Meryl because she deserved to win “more” than anyone else. Because it’s all about Maks.
I say give him the ball and bid the drama queen adieu. I don’t for a moment believe he didn’t know exactly what he was saying. Maybe it makes him feel important, who knows.
@56 Ashley, notice how all the Nicole comments have stopped now that he has his very own ringer. Even from Erin.
When the season started, I was sure Charlie would win. Then when I saw how they were tearing him down to prop Meryl up, I began thinking she would take it. I wavered back and forth between Charlie and Meryl. But after that AT, I think Amy might actually have a shot. Just judging the the reaction around the rest of the internet – the actual hysteria surrounding Amy, to the point that Maks fans travel everywhere to tear her down – I think the Maks fans are thinking that too. 🙂 The difference is, of course, that Derek fans will shrug and go, ah well, she wins either way because she’s amazing. However, if Meryl loses, we’ll have to put all the comments on moderation and start banning people. Psychotic. Maks will proclaim to all the world that HE is the rightful winner, and that finally HE won and he will be carried on Val and Tony’s shoulders (while Derek and Charlie pick up Meryl who is left off to the side)…never, ever mentioning that he had the biggest ringer in the history of the show. No one else will mention it either, unlike Maks and Tony (and Louis and even Mark) when Nicole won. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the double standard currently at play on DWTS.
Melissa (#55), you’re probably right, and my guess is Maks isn’t going to be the one choreographing the freestyle. I’d say Val is working like a good little bro on that even as we comment here — doing his bit to get The Fam the win.
I’m hardly a Val fan, but he’s a better choreographer than Maks and is way more intelligent (although not as bright as he thinks he is). He at least appears to have the capacity to learn from past experience. I’ve seen growth in him as a pro during his tenure on DWTS which is more than I can say for his brother. As others have said, it seems like Val is starting to figure out what it takes to win the show. So while Val blew his freestyle with Zendaya, I bet he does a better job the next time, and Maks will be the beneficiary.
# Ashley L
That’s really interesting. Your description of him as a deflector is very interesting. I’ve viewed his behavior as coming from feeling he’s never appreciated enough. This deflector thing is an interesting view. I do agree with you that he really can’t help himself. As for hoping he’d have changed, I’ve written about what turned out to be for me a brief shining moment …
They can’t bear to believe anything else, Melissa. It destroys their entire world view.
I can’t imagine any of the other pros saying or doing a lot of the things Maks does. I’m still waiting to hear Derek say Nicole was his best partner ever. Or for Karina to say it about JR. Or Mark about Kristi.
Has there ever been a pro who’s won and then not come back for the next season? I know it happened with Kym after Donny, but I remember reading at the time it was due to money, not that she didn’t want to come back. I think every other pro who’s won, whether with a ringer or not, has been back to the next season to try again. I can’t imagine Maks coming back after having the most perfect partner to ever walk the face of the planet. Even though he swears he does the show because of the great relationships he makes. Relationships, it seems, he quickly alienates once the season is over.
@Donna #58
Yes. And Maks was very upfront at the beginning of the season. He even said in an interview that Meryl was a ringer and how it’s been such a good season with her because it’s so easy. And Maks said that he doesn’t care about winning the mirrorball trophy anymore, that’s not why he’s back, it’s about the journey (this is where I smelled fish).
We’ll see. Definitely Meryl wouldn’t care in the least if she lost. She’s an Olympic champion. It really is about her journey and more exposure for her and Charlie and their community.
We’ll see if Maks “cares” for Meryl with his behavior if Amy, Charlie, or Candace win. I know Meryl would be thrilled for any of them.
And I would be thrilled with whoever wins.
I really do believe we’ll see a lot of terrible and ridiculous comments from the ‘fam’ and from their super fans if M&M lose OR win. Ugh.
If Maks doesn’t win this season, I have a hard time believing he will ever really want to come on the show again as a pro. He will most likely never get as big a ringer as Meryl again. And he never seems to really enjoy the show unless his partner is very good (exception being Kirstie). He has said many times before something like ‘it was often a burden or a negative thing to have to come to work but not this season
!’ How hard will it be next season for him to enjoy his work when he gets someone who probably can’t hold a candle to Meryl?
Maks, why don’t you learn from, yes, Derek, and even Mark, Emma, Karina, Sharna etc who really embrace the journey of each season with the partners they are given, regardless of how amazing at dance they are.
I’m sure Amy read a lot of the negative comments about her. She posted a quote by Mark Twain, and then 30 mins later took it down. I wonder what happened. I think for a short while she felt very hurt. I can’t see Maks being a gentleman if Amy wins.
Hey guys, I wanna ask something. Sorry if it’s been explained before and sorry if it’s not allowed to talk that kinda topics here. But I’ll be happy if you reply to me.
I’m reading a lot of “the show is rigged/fixed/set up for Meryl” or those sorta messages on some websites(including here, Puredwts). But I don’t understand those messages. Exactly what does those words mean? I mean is it like: Meryl is not the winner in audience votes, but the judges will overscore so much that the other couples’ audience votes won’t be able to pass Meryl. Or is it like: Meryl is not the winner in audience votes, but the producers(or whoever is collecting the votes) are changing(or will change) the vote results so even if she’s getting 10.000 and other couples are getting 50.000 votes, they will announce Meryl as the winner. Sorry for the weird describe but I don’t know how to ask it more clearly.
I know it’s off topic but I love to read conspiracies.
@Ananya
Do you happen to remember what the quote was?
I hope if Amy happens to hear or see any negative comments from morally inferior creatures, that she doesn’t take it to heart. I hope she knows how incredible she is; as an athlete, a dancer and a spiritual warrior.
I did think Meryl would win until a couple of weeks ago. But now I think Amy may take the whole thing.
It was “Keep away from those who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you believe that you too can become great” – Mark Twain
@Tweety- I wouldn’t necessarily use the word “rigged” but I would say that yes, things are being set up for Meryl. I don’t believe they can rig the votes for legal purposes (why they threw the online votes away in Season 16 when voting went down). I would say that things are being set up for Meryl. By that I mean that she’s being quite overscored by the judges. She’s had dances that haven’t started immediately or have had long stretches of time of no dancing (more than twice). She did a foxtrot that wasn’t really a foxtrot and a rumba that wasn’t a rumba. She hasn’t worn heels more than once. In most of those situations, anybody else would get called out and docked points but Meryl has not.
Moral of the story: I think TPTB are doing all they can to try to make the viewers believe that Meryl is the best dancer and should be the winner.
I just read an OK magazine interview where Maks said in their duel that the girls were at a disadvantage because he had to place them side by side while the others had a male partner which makes things easier. Disadvantage? You’ve got someone on the show with no legs! I just had to shake my head at this because isn’t that where CREATIVITY comes in. Even Shirley Ballas and Julz on Afterbuzz said there were ways around that. Again, excuses because things are not perfect. Sigh! I still want to believe he’s a great guy in person but Geesh maybe dwts is just not for him.
@Ananya
It was “Keep away from those who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you believe that you too can become great” – Mark Twain
Wow, thanks. And ever so true!
If Amy wins I would be very happy, but my happiness doesn’t depend on that. She has shown that she truly has a champion’s heart & spirit and whether or not she wins a MB trophy will not change that. She and Derek have created some incredible dances, and their journey made this season special for me as a viewer. I would be happy with anyone of the five remaining winning.(Even Meryl…lol)
Although it would probably be fun to see Maks head explode if he came in second again.
As far as I’m concerned you can’t believe a word that comes out of Maks’s mouth. He gave several interviews late last year where he said he’d never come back because he was tired of investing three months in someone else’s life and he didn’t care if they guaranteed him a win. He claimed it’s always been about the relationships he makes, but I have yet to see one of his partners show up at the show or tweet him any support. I don’t count Erin because if she wasn’t on the show, I don’t believe she’d be saying a word to him either – she hadn’t the past few seasons he was on the show.
Maks came back for one reason and one reason only – to win. And despite all his talk about his surprise when Meryl walked in the room, I believe he knew he’d be getting her. It was rumored Charlie and Meryl would be on long before the cast was announced, and I don’t think there’s any chance Maks would’ve come back to be paired with Nene or Danica or Candace and go up against them.
I heard some folks hypothesize that Val will choreograph the free style for Maks. I don’t think that will EVER happen. I think Maks is way too arrogant for that. I saw some of the Maks shippers on twitter and was appalled at the things they are saying. They are worried, which I think is kind of funny. I really think that in general, people who simply watch DWTS and aren’t involved in twitter or on one of the sites like this are really pulling for Amy. I listen to people talk and they have no idea I belong to this site or anything and man they are Amy all the way. Hope no one’s head explodes over that. This shouldn’t be about Maks or Derek or Sharna or Mark. It is about the celeb. I like Meryl, although I like her less now because it seems she has bought into all the Maks drama. I would like to Amy win and if not her, then Charlie.
From Maks’ OK magazine interview:
And as far that tiff with Danica during rehearsals, Maks says it was all in good fun.
“No, no, no—it’s our sense of humor,” he explains. “We were being funny. God knows I’m being funny sometimes that puts people to tears. But I have nothing against Danica. As four adults we were working together towards a common goal.”
That’s odd because that’s not what Danica and Meryl said or expressed on tape. Get some help Maks.
I admire Meryl for what she has achieved in life, but at times I wish she would stop being so stoic and open up about her challenges in reaching her goals.
She’s hiding her foot injury because she does not want sympathy, but this could very likely have an impact on her footwear and people are mis-interpreting the reason behind her lack of appropriate shoes.
People have brought up dyslexia and depth perception issues, yet she didn’t even tell Maks about these. So he’s getting all frustrated at her for not picking up choreo fast enough without him even realizing her conditions. Doing SOI and traveling constantly certainly haven’t helped.
I respect her desire for privacy, and I think that many elite athletes are doing so in order minimize attention to those details and ensure full legitimacy over their career achievements.
But then … her saying that learning choreo in a short amount of time “has never been my strong suit” can certainly be understood in a different light when knowing her background.
So much has been said already about Maks and his poor choice of words that I have nothing else to add. I wish he would limit his media appearances, or bring Meryl along to help with the talking.
I’ve enjoyed many of their dances this season, and still wait excitedly for more dancing in the coming weeks. But I cannot say that I look forward to their next interview… unless Meryl is the focus.
Anna, thank you for your piece of information. I just want to add a point that it’s easier to dance a rumba in shoes than dancing without them. And what about that a-tango with val? that’s kind of the fastest and most intricate footwork we’ve ever seen on DWTS. She can handle them, right? Well if her feet is injured, she may not do that every week but could certainly handle much difficult stuff Maks gave her. Beside, who said GOOD chore have to be difficult? Many of Derek’s dances are not hard but they look amazing and entertaining.
Maks is such an arrogant selfish insecure person. I’m so sorry his brother was voted out as he is and will continue to grow as a dancer and has more compassion for his art and Pro Instructor. His attitude and mouth will always get him in trouble and even if he wins with Meryl, my opinion of him will not change. I feel very sorry for him…
Um…Derek’s dances aren’t hard? Really? That’s a new one. Then by that token. Maks’ routines are so easy, a 5 year old could do them. Lol.
Maria Menounos had broken feet during her season two years ago and she managed to dance ALL her routines with shoes ON!! I believe it’s a requirement to be wearing shoes when dancing ballroom, not an excuse because you have a broken toe. Evan Lysacek also had a broken toe during his season four years ago also while doing SOI and again, WORE SHOES during his routines!!
Not only does Amy Purdy NOT have legs, she is also deaf in one ear. So I’d say she has just as many if not MORE disabilities than Meryl that she’s had to overcome. Meryl has been a good dancer from the start. I haven’t seen an improvement in her since week 1. Everyone else, I have. The more her partner opens his mouth the more I DON’T want them to win!!
I will say that this man just grows more and more distasteful to me each episode. I can’t stand how he is trying to gain the pity votes. It’s just not attractive. Trust me I know how much it’d mean to finally win something that you’ve worked so hard for, but you see other pros and all they care about is seeing the growth of their partner. They could care less about the trophy because they know at the end their partner achieved what they wanted out of this. That is why I find Derek a class act. He doesn’t think about the MBT. He just thinks about making dances that he can go back to and say wow. He even said in an interview that there were some wins he received that weren’t as exciting as seasons where he didn’t win. (I’m curious as to know what seasons he is speaking of) LOL. But I feel whomever advances into the finals deserves to be there. It’s up to America to decide as well. I’d love to see Sharna/Charlie win just because they have been a joy. Love James/Peta but they’d have to pull out one hell of a freestyle to make me say okay yes they deserve it. Then my heart is for Derek/Amy. I love these two. I really want then to win as much as anyone just because Amy does deserve it with all the accomplishments. Then again I’m a person of the freestyle. That is a male or break dance.
When I was younger I broke the toe next to my big toe. I didn’t have a lot of money at the time and no health insurance, so I got some duct tape and taped the toe to my big toe until it healed.
Wearing closed shoes hurt the most, so I wore flip-flop and sandals.
Latin shoes are sandals with more flexibility and suede on the bottom to help prevent slippage on the floor. Personally I would think that wearing them would be more comfortable than wearing those wedge sneakers or even going barefoot. You have some support yet can still have freedom of movement.
I just don’t understand the increasing use of non-ballroom shoes by able bodied contestants.
The Danica/Meryl Samba costumes and props looked like it was lifted from the movie Scarface. When I saw the two big gilded lions, my reaction was (Huh?).
While depth perception problems can be an issue in Meryl’s chosen line of work, I sure wish people learn more about dyslexia and realize that in this day and age, if you know about it, there are many ways that you can make sure that it has almost no impact on your life – if you work at it. This should not hamper Meryl in any way – she might rehearse longer and harder to make sure she doesn’t switch things around, but that might not be an issue either – I don’t even think it’s likely. In my case, I have to do math problems a couple times to make sure I don’t reverse the numbers. I only ever have trouble when I’m tired. And I’m older than Meryl so, theoretically, I should fall into the group that didn’t catch it at an early age and therefore struggle with it more. And yet that’s not the case. I rather resent it being listed as one of the “issues” Meryl has had to overcome. Lord, I have TWO college degrees and a great career. Hello? http://www.webmd.com/parenting/dyslexia-treatments
It’s starting to sound like people are creating a list of “handicaps” for Meryl (depth perception, dyslexia, foot injury) in order to somehow “elevate” her and what she’s able to do. Come on, people. They all have injuries at this point.
I’m sure a lot of them are very hard, Theresa, but Derek has found a way to make them look effortless – and that’s one of the problems he has with parts of the audience. He makes so many things look effortless. Including dancing with a woman with no feet.
Maks is supposed to be a Pro. If he can’t tolerant constructive criticism then he shouldn’t be in competition. So tired of his dramatic outbursts and crude behavior. It’s the same old Maks this season. From his insulting remarks about his previous partners, to his disrespectful treatment of Danica and his rude inappropriate behavior towards ALM, I’ve had more than enough. ALM was right about Meryl’s feet being sickled and when asked in an interview, Meryl said she agreed with Abby’s comment. And now this latest comment that Meryl deserved to win “more” than any of the other contestants …. Shut up Maks, just shut up.
No denying that Meryl is talented but I’ve not been overly impressed with her performances, except for the AT with Val. That was fabulous. It’s too bad she wasn’t partnered with another Pro.
Maks (and his mouth) is his only one enemy… I remember on season 5… All the three finalist couples were being interviewed by Mario Lopez and Helinho said something like he didn’t know that the dancers are like athletes. Maks came overreacting saying “but we are athletes”… I get so annoyed with the disrespectful way Maks said that… then Helio asked back “but people don’t realize that and it’s really impressive” (something like this) and so that was an unconfortable momentum…
I used to root for Maks, specially on season 4 and 5, (love him with Laila and Mel) but this was a moment when I start thinking about how rude he can be… and it shows more clearly through the years. I could remember a lot of times Maks acted like this, but the cherry on the cake was that “this is my show” moment and the group paso rehearsal with Hope.
Sometimes I wonder Maks is the only one pro that didn’t grew up on knowing how the show works. For example: Cheryl on season 2 and how Emmitt made her grow up her behaviour on season 3; Karina hunger for victory on season 3 and frustrated and then calm after BRCyrus; Derek defending his girl Shannon and then becoming the pro that knows the best to use the show on his favour (alongside Cheryl, IMO), etc., etc….
Maks was on 15 seasons… when will he learn? Even Witney sounded more mature than him… =/ Val is more mature and smart than him…
Right now, I kinda feel like Meryl’s BIGGEST handicap is the partner at her side. (I’d never think that the dyslexia was hindering her in dancing and the depth perception issues I would think would be more of an issue working with multiple dancers, but we’ve seen her work in groups and seem to do just FINE.)
Frankly, most everything I would have to say in this conversation has already been said, so I won’t clutter up the board with it.
I used to wonder if a lot of Maks’ problems were caused by his inability to properly express himself in English. He’s often sounded stilted and awkward in his wording during live interviews on the show, almost like he just couldn’t find the right combination of words. He’s certainly not eloquent and often just comes off sounding like an ass.
I think the first real sign Maks hadn’t changed at all was the way he dissed all his former partners in every interview he gave. It was bad enough towards Laila, Mel, Erin and Kirstie, the people who got him to the finals, but they weren’t the people he was dragging around the dance floor (OK maybe Kirstie was) or felt burdened having to go to work and rehearse with. Imagine how people like Denise and Debi and Melissa felt hearing him make those comments, knowing he was talking about them?
Every celebrity who goes on this show is vulnerable in that they’re putting themselves out there for millions of people to watch them do something they’ve never done before and in many cases aren’t very good at. It’s bad enough to have packages showing him treating you like crap. But to have him complaining publicly about having to drag you around and what a burden it was having to teach you? I’d be so hurt and mortified. It’s no wonder that despite what he claims Maks seems to retain very few friendships with these ladies.
@ Jara #86
I couldn’t agree more … especially about the ‘Shut up Maks’ part!
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate and enjoy this website, including reading all your comments!!! I made the HUGE MISTAKE of reading the comment section beneath a photo Amy posted on FB of she and Derek’s A. Tango. I was STUNNED by the venomousness of those nasty remarks! I’ve often read your comments about the ‘Derek haters’, but have never come across them, since this is the only DWTS website that I visit (thank HEAVENS!!!). I could not believe the virulent criticism of not only Derek … but of AMY as well … even to the point of them saying she was simply receiving ‘pity’ votes. One person even went so far as to say they should have a DWTS strictly for the disabled!!! It made me sick to think these people feel such bitterness toward Derek/Amy (over a DANCE SHOW no less!!!) that it prompted them to leave such vulgar, obviously jealous remarks … which btw seemed to come primarily from Meryl/Maks supporters. What an angry, sad, desperate group they are!
PS: I love Charlie … he will get all my votes if Amy/Derek are eliminated … right now all votes going to A/D.
I like it when Amy says that everybody has handicaps, just that some are more visible than others.
My point when mentioning Meryl’s challenges (and I used the word challenges rather than handicap) is simply to say that MAYBE, just maybe, there is more than what meets the eye. And maybe there are other reasons that we will never know about certain aspects of her dancing.
My earlier post was more about giving the benefit of the doubt regarding certain critiques brought about Meryl’s dances. Not in the slightest did I intent to paint the picture of “poor Meryl”, what she had to battle with.
I hear you PH that dyslexia is not as bad as it sounds, and people can adjust and have a wonderful life. But that does not mean that in SPECIFIC circumstances, it cannot be a limitation. I work with college students, and college student with dyslexia can be as gifted and smart as every other student. But when faced with a very hard exam to be written in a limited amount of time, they may underperform. This does not mean they don’t know how to answer the questions, it simply means that they operate differently under time constraints. This is just an example where circumstances matter for the outcome.
So in Meryl’s case, perfecting a skating routine for years is a long enough time period to accommodate her limitations. But what if a week long rehearsal time for two new dances, two SOI shows, other appearances and obligations is not enough? Again, we will never know. She does not want us to know or thing about it. But that does not mean that MAYBE she does have some struggles of her own.
Oh those nasty C. Bros fans, they are half the reason why those guys haven’t won a season. You can add those ever-so- articulate “Zswaggers” to this group. The Amy hatred in surreal. One ignorant teen girl on Amy’s instagram called her a “cripple”- that is a disgusting slur. What if Maksim had Amy for a partner this year, would Meryl be their target?? Probably so. They all hated Karina until her and Maksim put all of that behind them, schizo much??? They are just crazy and mean. And when Maksim speaks, he is the fuel to their fire.
Well, Anna, if only people would give AMY the benefit of the doubt (or slack, or excuses) the way the want to do for Meryl. And really, THAT is my point.
Dyslexia is not likely to impact her dancing routines. It’s mainly exhibited as a reading or math problem. If, when caught early, most don’t even have a problem with that, myself included. It certainly shouldn’t inhibit or slow her dancing, ESPECIALLY considering the fact that she has more experience than anyone left other than Charlie. Her struggles, in the circumstances of this season, are minimal. And yes, I state that as a fact because I don’t have to look far to see a woman dancing nearly as well with NO FEET. Really, Meryl’s biggest problem is MAKS.
What a bunch of ignorant asses. Who goes to someone else’s instagram to say shit like that, besides someone who is a real freak. I hope Amy doesn’t read that shit.
It finally dawned on me yesterday that the dolts who argue that Amy is only getting pity votes are the same ones who, with a straight face, say they want Maks to win because he’s never won before. They simultaneously both condemn and solicit the pity vote with clearly zero sense of any problem with that. Really really really no point engaging with these people. Amy could not be with a better person from whom to learn how to prevent your energy getting sapped by such loathsome morons.
Some people are so cold hearted. I don’t know how they live with themselves.
I find it so appalling how much hatred Maks and Val’s fans spread everywhere. All you have to do is exist and they attack. Zendaya’s fans are still attacking Kellie on YT and that was a year ago. How anyone could attack Amy is beyond my comprehension. The insanity never ends.
That’s cuz they stoopid, Susan. 🙂
I’ve never been a Maks fan, but as meryl and charlie fan… I don’t see Meryl winning because of her association of maks. By no fault of her own, the pimping this season, Mak’s comments and his fanbase are actually ruining her chances. and no, i’m not hysterical about her not winning, just stating a logical conclusion. As for Amy, without comparing the actual dancing, I think that if she wins, it would be a historic win and an inspirational one. The publicity from that would be great for DWTS. Because of that, I see her winning over the predictable Charlie or Meryl win.
Maks and his fans are lowering my enjoyment of this season. It’s absolutely disgusting what is being said about Amy. It doesn’t surprise me one bit though, after all the crazy crap they threw at Julianne. I did get one chuckle out of a comment one of them left on Facebook holding Julianne responsible for the policies of British Prime Minister David Cameron. I am not kidding!! Some of these people are beyond help I think.
Certainly everyone has challenges, but frankly the story about Meryl makes Maks look like a bigger jerk. Meryl can do more than almost anyone and HE gets frustrated with her. No wonder he can’t work with others if he has that little patience.
These fans are unbelievable. They support Maks’ comment towards ALM because of how she treats her students, but they are bullies themselves for the way they are treating Amy. Hypocrites.
Still makes me laugh when people say
Kellie’s win deserves an asterisk bc power voters were ignored. Doesn’t it make it more legitimate because it is a better sample of who people wanted to win? Not to mention everyone’s online votes were ignored. No one knows if Zendaya even got the most online votes. It also has to work legally with standards and practice. Even Kristyn from afterbuzz commented on the bad comments. While Meryl’s win seems inevitable would love to see anyone but Maks win.
Yea Kristyn from afterbuzz did say the vitriol towards Amy and Candace were amazing. Yet when I pointed out it was Maks-Meryl shippers, she said it was from both sides and apparently I was adding to the negativity.
I don’t know that Meryl’s win is inevitable. That’s what I thought last year with Zendaya. But nope, didn’t happen. I would for sure LOVE to see Amy win, as a HUGE Derek fan but would be happy if any of the remaining celebs won….anybody BUT Maks!
I will get into debates with the Maks/Meryl fans on Twitter and Instagram but I will NOT stoop to their level and name-call or say anything bad or mean as I’ve seen them do. There’s just NO reason for that. None at all.
I don’t think Meryl’s win is inevitable at all. Part of me thinks that neither skater winning would be a better result; their path is winning together. I am quite optimistic at this point for Amy’s chances. A lot of heads will explode if that happens. Should be fun to watch.
As for getting into debates with M/M fans, to me that comes under the category of engaging in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.
Meryl’s win….inevitable? Nah. I thought for sure Shawn would win all stars, Zendaya s16 and Corbin s17….glad I do bet on dots lol.
@ Memere #90
Yes, some of the Maksbots are very vicious and are intolerable of contrary opinions. Unless you worship at the alter of their idol, you will be attacked. I also read some of the cruel remarks about Amy. It’s really so disgusting. I just hope that Amy doesn’t read their garbage.
@ KellyK #105
I feel the same as you. Although Amy and Derek are my favorite, I would be happy if any of the remaining celebs won … except Maks. The thought of him gloating over getting the MBT makes me nausea.
@Susan #106
A lot of moronic heads exploding … THAT I would LOVE TO SEE!!!
Yes, Melissa – Kellie’s win is actually MORE legitimate because of how it was handled, not less. Anyone who can engage their brain recognizes that once they give it a little thought. But no one ever gave those fans credit for brains. 🙂
How can vitriol towards Amy be “from both sides”? That makes no sense. If Kristyn actually said that, then that makes me sad. Sounds like a journalist more worried about followers and viewers than facts.
dwts is a show … and as contentious as Len can be with maks or anyone else he/they score the dance appropriately, Abby Miller went personal instead …and Maks saying meryl deserves it more: he is her dance partner talking … if you’re not in it to win why be there. The show shapes everyone’s attitude by giving you a snippet of their practice etc. Abby Miller was awful as a dancer and mom she would be the last person i would send my kids to for obvious reasons … by the end it’s a reality show and sometimes the best dancer wins sometimes it’s sabotaged and sometimes the most popular wins …people here hate all the cruel awful things said about candace/amy and then call Maks all kinds of things … SMH life is short enjoy the dance vote learn a dance take dance be inspired by them appreciate what they do
:::rolls eyes::: What?
Kristyn I guess meant fans of all the pros have been negative, through I don’t agree with it. I told her that the very fact she had to point out negativity specifically towards Amy and Candace shows the negativity is not equal from all sides
I’m shocked. SHOCKED, I say, to hear that Maks thinks Meryl is most deserving.
But if he says it, it must be so. He has no ulterior motives for making such a statement, after all.
🙂
I have always disliked Maks’ particular brand of nonsense, but I really wanted him to have turned it around for Meryl. I am truly disappointed that he couldn’t. I am also sad that this season with Maks has tainted my opinion of her.
PH, LOL…however, my response wasn’t “what?” it was “whatever…”
(Aside: geez, my eyeballs are getting a lot of exercise this season with all the rolling they’re doing.)
[…] Meryl are safe to dance another week. Chmerkovskiy talked about the controversial week with KLTA, shared by PureDWTS, and he said he thinks Meryl deserves to win more than anyone else on the show. He […]
I thought the same when Kristyn did a 180 to insinuate that all fan bases act similarly. It seemed like she was just trying to be diplomatic.
I think the gap between Meryl and Amy has narrowed and I am guessing Maks either flat out knows it, or at least senses it. Why a solo interview at the studio without his partner?
@yahoo77
Excuses, excuses…..
And Candace and Amy don’t abuse their partners and act like arrogant jerks. You can’t compare them to Maks, imo.
LOL This guy is so moody and unpredictable. It was funny to see that Danica wasn’t sugar coating anything in their duel rehearsal. We’ve all seen by now how hard he is trying to win viewers rather than being normal. If he would only spend half as much effort on choreography and cutting out the BS, I’d say he might be deserving of a MBT.
At this point, I’ll be glad if anyone wins it but Maks. All the other pros that are remaining have made it a point to help their celebs improve in many ways. As for Derek, even if he doesn’t win with Amy, he’s made a bigger impact in this season alone than Maks and all of his seasons put together.
Putting this on the right post, so the offender can see it…
If you want to post here, what you do NOT do is lecture other posters on what they talk about. This is where we discuss the show. If you do not like how we discuss the show, you are free to leave. And the old canard of “Derek wouldn’t like to hear how you talk…” bullshit doesn’t fly here either. Some fans may kiss the ass of their favorite pro and do what they’re told – that ain’t us. No fans of koolaide here.
#121: I agree with you wholeheartedly. While I will jump through the roof if Amy and Derek win, I will be ecstatic for any of the couples except for Maks and, by association only, Meryl. He does not represent what DWTS is about and shame on them for making him the focal point if S 18. He made it plainly clear in past interviews that he is tired of investing 3 months of his life for the benefit of a celebrity’s career. I thought we would never see him on the program again after a comment like that. Sadly, I was wrong.
@Kaitlyn, thanks for explaining. I don’t think it’s fixed for Meryl. But someday, if it turns up that yes it was fixed for Meryl indeed, then I won’t be shocked because it’s a tv show and I feel like there is usually some shenanigans going on. I guess I’ll just think “if it’s rigged for other winners, glad it was also fixed for Meryl” lol 😀 .
I don’t think she’s overscored, but of course I’m a Meryl and Charlie fan, perhaps it’s affecting my opinion. But I think James and some other contestants are more overscored. And not wearing shoes is more tolerated by the judges in recent seasons I believe, so I don’t see any special treatment towards her about that.
Thanks for answering my question. I do think she is the best dancer and should be the winner 😀 . But I love to read what others think and I do understand anyone not finding her that great as I do or thinking it was set up for her. I definitely felt the same way about some past celebrities/winners. Thanks again.
The names Amy has been called have made me sick…and angry and this is off grown women /adults who should know better. This is a tv show and the stupidity of some fans has really turned me off dwts .
Jo, I’ve seen the hateful sick comments too and it’s sad. How people live with themselves is beyond my comprehension.
I still don’t get how so many people are falling for this “nice guy”. I’m not saying he is always a terrible person, but over the seasons we all know that if a caleb disagrees with him, all hell breaks loose. Meryl is a sweet girl, who is used to be pushed by her coaches. Also, she knows how to work in a partnership. The week they got the tango, it was a JOKE! So, Meryl holds his hand, and it’s all good. So all of his previous celebs are wrong. After all, it’s their fault, because they didn’t held his hand. And now he comes out after ABM,which is a bully, no doubt about that, but what about his atitude toward Hope Solo? If Maks wasn’t faking so much, I could see myself rooting for Meryl (because I love her). But keeping it real, I’m with Charlie and Sharna. Pure fun and great dancing. And of course Derek, stilling my heart with those amazing breathtaking choreos…
