DWTS Season 18, Week 9 – Let’s Recap Tonight’s Show (Spoilers)

Once again, due to heavy traffic, we have to institute a few ground rules for tonight show. Most of these are good rules ALL OF THE TIME, and are basic netiquette.

  1. DO NOT hit refresh every few seconds – in fact, do not hit refresh every five minutes! Read, comment if you like, then walk away from the computer for five to ten minutes. I know this is hard, but it will prevent others from losing their minds trying to read and/or update the site.
  2. DO NOT use the comment section like it’s twitter – it’s not twitter. Make an actual comment with context of who you’re talking about, who you’re talking to (if it applies), etc. Context, and more than one line. If you break this rule more than one time, I start deleting. If you do it a couple times, you’ll find yourself on moderation.  Perhaps for life. 🙂  Keep in mind that if you can’t follow this rule, I can make you follow it.
  3. Try very hard to keep the ugly to a minimum. Think before you post. If you’ve been called out previously on this blog for your behavior, this will be extra important because there’s only so much I will tolerate. I’m not talking about differing opinions, I’m talking about nasty. If I get the sense that you are purposely trolling  (look it up if you’re not sure), I will just block you. No warning other than this one.

Also, we’ve turned on the Comment Moderation feature for the entire site. That way, in the event of an unexpected elimination, we can week out any trouble makers that much quicker. 😉

Tonight’s drinking game?? One shot for every ass kiss. 🙂 Happy drinking.

Candace – really good dance and Bruno is exactly right. I might not have noticed any mistakes if it hadn’t shown so clearly on her face.

And she’s safe. Okay, that’s a tad scary, although she could be in the bottom two and they want to scare the hell out of Charlie, Meryl (and Amy) fans. Since Amy is going third, and Charlie is next…one of them will be in jeopardy.

ETA 1: Charlie and Amy are in jeopardy – why are you people freaking out already?? The producers of this show are the most manipulative people on the planet. Be worried when James is called safe.

Great dance from Charlie…I’ll be waiting for people to bitch about his dropped hanky. Oh. Wait. 🙂

ETA 2: Holy crap…again, mesmerized by Amy and Derek! Great quickstep!! Should be a 39, if not…well, she’ll get more votes. And if she for some crazy reason goes home?? She has Oprah and Kenny Ortega in her corner. 🙂

ETA 3: Meryl in jeopardy and James safe. I’m so shocked…only not really. 🙂 Who wants to bet me that the last two standing are Charlie and Meryl?? Unless Amy is truly at the bottom, the producers won’t be able to resist.

I missed James dance because I was policing this site. People, we ain’t twitter. Cool your jets.

ETA 4: And here comes the “winner” narrative for Meryl and Maks. Massive struggle to get the dance.

ETA 5: Those were some ugly ass shoes Meryl was wearing. Period shoes I guess??

Ooo…blow to the Meryl Maks shippers when Meryl puts Charlie ahead of Maks on the partnership scale. 😀

ETA 6: Very nice Macy’s Stars of Dance. It just occurred to me that the reason Derek is creative director (besides being the best person for the job and they want him to get Emmys cuz it’s good for the show) is partly because they never expected Amy to last this long and they need Derek on the show.

ETA 7: Is Candace peaking at the right time or what?? Great choreo from Mark – loved it. 🙂 They are kinda stacking it so she’s more certain to get 4th place though.

ETA 8: Charlie was a tad flat on that. I still love him though and will give him all my votes if Amy goes home.

Jaysus – Derek FINALLY gets his due from the judges on the choreo this season. That was fantastic. Really fantastic. If Amy goes home tonight, she will still have some of the most memorable dances of the season. Kenny Ortega…you da man. 🙂

ETA 9: WARNING…that rumba wasn’t that good, but the judges are raving. Danger Will Robinson…Danger Will Robinson. Long time viewers of this show will know what this means….

ETA 10: Hehehehe…cue the walking choreo. Anyone count?? 😀

Meryl is such a pretty girl, why does Maks keep dressing her in gawdawful outfits??

Another perfect score for Meryl and Maks. So shocked. LOL – not really. 🙂 Congrats to Maks though – he finally vocalized something in a way that I think he actually meant instead of insulting half the population. 🙂

Amy is called safe first – told you guys an hour ago when the three Olympians were in jeopardy that Meryl and Charlie would be the last two standing. Someday you will listen to me. 🙂

Very sad that we’ve lost Charlie – Would have loved to see a freestyle from Sharna. I think she could rival Derek – while Maks…won’t. GREAT JOB CHARLIE AND SHARNA!!

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

Another DWTS Rehearsal Interview With Meryl Davis, Amy Purdy, Charlie White And Partners

Peta Murgatroyd Chats About DWTS, James Maslow, And Kenny Ortega

That’s Your Reality talked with Peta Murgatroyd. She tells them that the judges have been nitpicking on James a little, but, it’s making him a better dancer. She also commented a little on Kenny Ortega. Read on for more…

“I constantly think that James has been improving from week to week. I think he’s up there with the best of them,” Peta told That’s Your Reality. While she feels that the judges have been fair in their scoring and feedback, she admits, “They nitpick on James a little bit but that’s going to make him all the more a better dancer and give him more awareness of his body. He’s really good about it.”

This week, Kenny Ortega joins the panel to offer his feedback, something that all of the couples are looking forward to. “He’s an amazing choreographer. His insight will be amazing to take on to the next couple of dances. I would love to hear what he has to say,” she said.

You can read the full interview at That’s Your Reality . Also, be watching People as Peta may be posting a new blog there soon.

DWTS18 Semi-Finals Numerology Predictions: The Battle of the 9’s – Part I

Hi All! Vogue here and are you ready for tonight’s Dancing With The Stars Season 18 Semi-Finals? We have a special treat for you today to take in before show time. DonaMadrina is back with her seasonal Numerology Predictions and Analysis. She’s put forth a lot of effort into this project as once she began, one thing kept leading to another as you will soon read. Special notes before you begin: note how there is a “Battle of the 9’s” this season. Also, there are some “challenges“, but, is that necessarily a bad thing for the way some like a challenge and/or have turned them inside out? Lastly, Candace Cameron Bure has a Life Path Number of 7 which matches the World Number of 7 for the entire year of 2014. Could this have possibly been a factor for how she survived elimination so incredibly? I don’t know, but, this is a fascinating read to think about. Read on, study everything, and then let us know in comments who you think might be going home tonight and who you do you think will take it all? A special thanks to Dona for all of her time spent on this “labor of love” and we can’t wait for Part 2 next week!!! Ok, here is Dona….

The Battle of the 9’s – Part I
by Donamadrina

Man, oh man! I thought last season was tough for calling as to who would be in the finals. Nope. This season is even tougher. Many are thinking James is the next to go, and on paper, he could be — however….let’s look at the numbers step-by-step.

Numerology is not an exact science. There are many factors that must be considered and weighed, and that’s where numerology becomes an art. Certain numbers, for example, are natural matches to each other, and in the chart below they are represented by EXTRA SUNNY days. Some numbers are compatible to each other, and in the chart are listed as Good days. Then there are the Challenging numbers, numbers that are toxic to each other.

When looking at our Dancing With The Stars couples, we have to remember that their lives are more than just Dancing With The Stars. What may appear to be a “challenging day” may have nothing to do with their public lives, but just possibly their private lives behind-the-scenes. And then, of course, we have a person like Derek Hough, who welcomes challenges. When a “challenging day” appears for him, does that mean it’s going to be a bad day…or just another opportunity that he welcomes? In Week 6, both Candace and Mark had challenging days, were placed in jeopardy, but ended up being called SAFE. So, as you can see, there are many factors that enter in, but to keep it simple, we’ll just talk basics for this first post. Read more..
