Access Hollywood Interviews The Couples In Rehearsals For The Finals, Odd Tweet By Shirley Ballas
Check it out! Too fun! I love the ending teaser by Derek…
Also, Shirley Ballas tweeted that it’s been a tough day, but, she can’t say why. Here’s is more. Could something be wrong with Mark like Vin 2 posted in comments? Let’s hope not and all eyes on tomorrow night. Thanks to Lori for the heads up!!
Well tough day today. Can’t say why Dwts policy. But all tune in tomorrow for a great show and lots of surprises.I’m going for a brandy. Uggg
ETA: And an update from People. Mark was indeed hurt yesterday! Let’s hope he’s ok to dance tonight! Note that lastnight he also tweeted, “Hey y’all. I’m doing alright, thanks for the love.”
“Mark was seriously injured during camera blocking,” the spokesperson says. “His shoulder popped out during a lift and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was treated and released. It’s unclear whether or not he’ll be able to perform on Monday’s show.”
The injury occurred at the CBS studio where Dancing is taped. Ballas and Bure were in the middle of a complex maneuver that involved Ballas lifting the actress onto his shoulders when the injury occurred.
Fellow pro dancers Derek Hough and Cheryl Burke were at the studio and rushed to Ballas’s side on the ballroom floor.
They encouraged him to sit out the Monday finale so that the injury would not get worse, but Ballas is insisting he wants to perform. As a precaution, another DWTS pro will learn the routines and be ready to step in for Ballas should he ultimately need to sit out Monday’s show.
DWTS GOSSIP believes mark is injured
People Magazine online has confirmed Mark dislocated his shoulder. He’s planning to dance, but they have another pro that learns the dance just in case.
Oh no!! So sorry! Prayers going up to the throne of grace for you Mark.
Listening to Derek and Amy at the end…I cannot *wait* to see what he came up with. Is it tomorrow yet?
Meryl is the only celebrity that doesn’t speak in her segment. And did anyone catch Maks having to correct himself from the producers saying “you can do anything” to “you and Meryl”? LOL
Couple of posts on Meryl’s Instagram page from the SOI show hoping that she feels better – maybe James had the flu and it’s making the rounds….hope not for the entire cast’s sake.
@Donna I noticed that too. Does she really in any?
Do we think Derek and Amy are doing something with aerials? Sky’s the limit and all? I enjoyed on Dancing on Ice (when it was done by Torvill and Dean).
Mark tweeted that he’s okay:
Mark Ballas @MarkBallas ยท 22m
Hey y’all. I’m doing alright, thanks for the love.
I feel so bad for Mark and Candace and I hate that the show turns everything into publicity driven drama; “seriously injured”, will Mark be able to dance on Monday? I know Mark will make the wisest decision for Candace but she’s either going to be extra nervous about his shoulder giving out again on a lift, learning different choreography or learning how to dance with a new partner. I hope his injury isn’t too bad and they can enjoy a fun freestyle together.
I think we have our drinking game for Monday. How many times will the show repeat the video of his injury and how many times will it be in slo-mo?
Hope Mark is ok and his Mum sounds concerned by her tweet. Have to love DWTS though. His mum can’t tweet about his injury but People mag can run a story on it. What a world !
I agree with all above who mentioned that Meryl was the only celeb who didn’t say anything. It was the first thing that popped into my head when I was watching.
Hopefully Mark can dance and they can have fun, though it’s not worth dancing if it there is a chance of perm injuring the shoulder.I am sure, however, that TPTB will over dramatize and milk this for all they can.
OMGoodness, really hope that Mark is okay. Those pros are such fighters, I don’t see Mark sitting this one out. IF they do use another pro, Candace will be fine. The way she was throwing herself at Charlie….those lifts were simply amazing. Best of luck tonight to all of them.
This is my first time commenting here. Your site is amazing and always keep me updated about #DWTS. I’m from Europe and English isn’t my first language so bare with me if i made some mistake.
I really hope Mark won’t risk his health if he isn’t well.
Now for the Freestyles i think Amy and Derek dance will be spectacular and i have a hunch that they wouldn’t use prosthetic legs especially now after this interview. I also think that James and Peta freestyle will be amazing.
The first thing I thought of when watching the M&M segment was Maks thinking a dance “so quiet you could hear a pin drop” has never been done before. Did he not see or even hear of Kellie’s FS last year? Yeesh!
And I agree that Derek & Amy are going for some aerials. Can’t wait! ๐
lurkerb5 – I believe Maks said production said that they had been able to keep the room so quiet this season you can here a pin drop so capitalize on that in the freestyle….(in a nutshell)
Meryl is just quiet or maybe her response was edited out……
I hope we some some aerials from Derek and Amy – that would be awesome. That girl is fearless!
Mark may not have a choice in whether he dances or not – they have to be cleared by a doctor. But I would bet serious money that if the Doctor clears him to dance, he’ll dance.
#lurkerb5 Amy without her prosthetic legs? Now that would be amazing to watch. It makes them dancing Aerial all that more interesting.
I doubt greatly that Amy would remove her prosthetic legs. To start, I think she’d feel a bit “naked”, she wouldn’t be able to stand up for judges’ review when finished, and it would be a terrible distraction. In my mind, especially since she has such an amazing core, I could see them sort of “dancing” together suspended in air, each having shimmied up one of those silks that Derek mentioned to Kellie last year.
Carolyn – I’m pretty sure that Amy said she was still going to have her legs on. Maybe she won’t use them for the aerial part of the freestyle though – an illusion as if they weren’t there? Who knows – so excited and nervous for tonight!
Jill L – I listened to it again – I heard Maks say the producers said they (M&M) tended to have a quiet ballroom when they were dancing (implying spellbound silence?) and that was what they should capitalize on in the freestyle. So I think we’re saying the same thing ๐
Disagree about the “never been done before” part though. I think they have very short and selective memories over there.
Carolyn – that thought crossed my mind too! I can’t see how they could pull off being airborne the entire freestyle, but we are talking Derek here… lol
I had this thought that if Mark did not get cleared to dance, that Charlie could fill in for him, since he and Candace already danced together once this season.
Oh I know it is a silly idea and would NEVER even be considered, but it made me smile
Mark’s injury looked brutal. The pros are all tough, and I’m sure he’ll dance if he’s cleared.
# lurkerb5 ๐ I think you need to learn how to read Chmercocky. It’s like this: “It’s never been done before [since the only time it counts as ‘having been done’ is if I’ve done it and I haven’t. Now if you’ll excuse me I need to see if Meryl can finish burping me].” THAT’s how you read Chmercocky. ๐
Susan – How DARE you say something that makes me ROFLMAO when I’m at work! Thankfully, no one was around, but really! =D Just brilliant… Thank you!
Yes, that’s too much, Susan and lurkerb5! So funny!
Right now, it’s looking grim Mark will dance tonight. I don’t want to post on this in a main post since this is Shirley’s personal page, but, look at this post she made just a bit ago to see what I mean. Don’t miss her post in comments too;

Oh dear. That does not sound good from Shirley’s comments. I hope they can dance as Candace and Mark have been such a lovely team this season. No pimping, no real manipulation just enjoying the journey.
Oh no…poor Mark and poor Candace.
Poor Mark and Candace. He has been his best IMO even more than
Kristi and Shawn, felt he matured while dancing with Candace.
