DWTS Season 18, THE FINALE: Who’s Dancing What…and When?? (SPOILERS)
Well, I’m looking forward to a great night of dancing!! Especially curious about the freestyles. 🙂
Warning…I will be turning comment moderation on during the show again and the rules we’ve been using for the last couple weeks will apply once again.
The dances shown below are for night one. It appears that all couples that make it to Tuesday will be doing a 24-hour fusion dance, similar to last season, I would imagine.

Im guessing those four guys pictured with Candace and Mark are back up dancers. Im looking forward to there freestyle the most. Mark sounded really excited about it on his blog, saying he had cool things planned.
I dont think it matters what Meryl and Maks do I think there going to win no matter what. They just did a contempary/rumba in week 9, and if there doing contempary again they will proably be very similar with just lifts this time around. So the same old and also the last two out of three winning freestyles have been contempary.
My favorite post….Sad that this will be the last one. I love the freestyle dance. I am really curious on what Amy & Derek are going to do. I am sure it will be magical.
Don’t see Dave Scott in that photo. Sure it will be cool but would it suit Candace! Sometimes Mark struggles with carrying out his ideas. He is the same guy who put Aly on a pole.
The Finale….. and with all of the snark, vitriol, shipping, and downright awful things I’ve seen flying around the web this season, I for one am happy the end is in sight. I wonder if we (the really interested viewers) will ever be able to just sit back, relax, and enjoy DWTS for the light, fluffy, sparkly, dance/reality show that it’s supposed to be? To root for all of the contestants (although root just a little harder for your favorite) without trying to tear down everyone else? I’d like to think so, but I doubt it. 🙁 Sigh.
The last two out of three winning freestyles? I think you mean two out of the last three winning freestyles were contemporary. Either way, that does not mean if you go that way you will win. It’s more likely you will suffer in comparison. If two of the last three have been contemporary, then you’re not really doing anything new and exciting are you? He better just make it very different from either Kellie or Melissa.
Agreed that contemporary has to be different enough. The showmance is also something we just saw in their foxtrot, rumba, etc. I always think how Wade Robeson made every jazz routine so different, unique but still has his stamp.
Heidi: did anyone get a glimpse of amy and dereks freestyle yet? Or any of the music?

I’m really looking forward to seeing Amy and Derek and hoping beyond all hopes that the average viewer will see beyond the showmance of Mery and Maks that’s been shoved down our throats all season and vote for Amy!
I hope TPTB don’t start with the “I’ve never won before” shtick in the Monday night package either since Meryl’s package seems to ALWAYS be about Maks and not her. Since Derek, Mark and Peta have all won MBT’s before and he hasn’t. Blah!

I am most excited to see Amy and Derek, both the salsa redo and the freestyle, but I also look forward to James and Candace. As for the lovers, I feel as if I could choreograph their contemporary at this point. I’m guessing Maks probably went outside for help though so it might not be more of the same.
Rose1, LOL “I could choreograph their contemporary” so true. No matter how they dance or what they dance it will be deemed “amazing” by the judges.
PH or any of the mods, is there any word if Maks used outside help in choreographing his freestyle?
Not that I would blame him. Just curious if what I’m going to see tomorrow is all his or not.

Saw on another forum that Mark is in the hospital and won’t be dancing tomorrow!!! Poor Candace! Does anyone have an update? Will they bring in a troupe member — or maybe Tony since she did the switch with him?
Vin2, where did you see news Mark is in the hospital. He’s been tweeting like nothing is up. In fact, he’s going to be LIVE tweeting about the Billboards.
I think I liked the show better before Facebook existed. Seems like since the advent of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, the show has become less pleasant to watch since it’s easier to slam the contestants and Pros that you don’t like 🙁 People have keyboard courage and say whatever they want behind the anonymity of their computer.
Apparently it happened during blocking this morning — something about his shoulder popping out of place. If I hear any more I will keep everyone updated.
Derek dislocated a shoulder during blocking one season and didn’t miss the show. Since Mark is tweeting up a storm about the Billboard Awards, it either didn’t happen or he’s out of the hospital and back home. Mark has dislocated a shoulder before and I’ve heard it’s much easier to do it once it happens. Either way, I bet he dances.
Kelly, I not only liked the show better before facebook, twitter and instagram were popular, but I liked the INTERNET better. LOL. People have no netiquette any more, from not reading before posting, to just being as vile as they like on the instagrams of people they hate.
I hope that Mark is okay. He and Candace are the highlights of the season for me. I can’t wait to see them dance tomorrow night.
FYI, the Cirque School of LA tweeted that they enjoyed a visit from Amy & Derek… and I think mentioned their freestyle. Put that together with Derek’s FS hint of “the sky’s the limit” in a recent interview…. expect, flying?! LMAO…. Should be exciting!
Oddly enough, I’m okay with a hip-hop freestyle for Candace if that’s really what we’re getting. It’s completely unexpected for someone like her and I think she’s got her own kind of swag. It might work.

Didn’t Derek want to do something aerial with Kellie (those cloth streamer things) before he went stripped down?
Also, I have no doubt M&M will ‘amaze’ on their freestyle. A contemporary freestyle is the one dance style where walking and standing still emoting is actually seen as a positive.
The walking and emoting got them good scores for weeks. Meryl and contemporary works for her.
Derek debated using that hammock for Kellie but chose not to do it. Anyway, sounds ambitious and excited. But sure
Meryl will yet again to last and go last tomorrow too.

Derek’s freestyle should be amazeballs I think 🙂 I am a bit nervous for Candace and ger hip hop freestyle but I guess it could work.. somehow… she is a self proclaimed dork though :p
I just read on twitter about FB votes being mixed up again with the picture headers being switched resulting in votes for Amy going to Meryl. Does anyone know is there funny business afoot AGAIN ? I really hope not it makes me especially angry to think TPTB would pull that kind of stuff on a person with NO FEET who is actually dancing, making it to finals and killing it every week. She deserves every damn vote that people give her.
And really I still do not understand HOW she is doing this. Talked to someone last week who was explaining to me it is hard enough with one prosthetic to know exactly where your feet are going to go and on 2 you really don’t have a sense of when “the foot” will touch the ground cause you can’t feel anything ?? Amy is truly amazing to have mastered this because regardless of the fact Derek is designing dances to fit her feet etc, she is doing a TON of choreography, movement and steps in each dance. And according to my friend, each step you take with a prosthetic is “uncertain”
Hi rainemayer, a couple of weeks ago, it looked like I voted for Candace (I think? Can’t remember), and that is not who I voted for-I believe Courtney (?) had an explanation about how it is a glitch in the program as to what you are shown as voting for, but your votes were probably captured as votes for Amy/Derek. And yeah, that is a clear as mud explanation…
@MelissaC I hope Mark can dance tomorrow too. I wonder how Candace is taking it or who the other pro is.

Cirque? “Sky’s the limit”? I’m guessing aerial silks. Amy has the necessary upper body strength to pull that off. I also heard something about lights half on half off? Anyway, I’m excited for all the dances tomorrow!!
For the switch up dances, will it be new choreography or will they be exactly the same as the switch up week? Does anyone know?
I am excited to see Meryl’s AT again and Amy’s Salsa.
I’m more curious about how Meryl will supersize her freestyle rather than the dance type.

Something was wrong with my DWTS voting when I clicked on it last Monday. It opened up the voting page, and when I clicked on Amy&Derek it wouldn’t except. Never happened before. I tried and tried and even the next day. So, yesterday I went into it and found another way around things and I am hoping that it lets me vote tomorrow night. Something changed and i didn’t change it. I’ve been voting for Amy all season only.
I agree about Amy, because she is AMAZING on the dance floor. I don’t know how she is doing this dancing either. Before I had back surgery, I would get a pain with a spasm and my right leg would go numb. I couldn’t feel if my foot was on the floor. I know this is different than Amy’s but I remember what it was like not feeling my foot and I didn’t have control of it. In 2011,age 61,I contracted a deadly illness (Sepsis & Double Pneumonia) which put me in a coma on life support. I had a 20% chance of surviving. In the hospital for 2 months after coming out of coma, so weak I couldn’t feed myself and had to push my body to do any simple task(couldn’t roll over on my side, sit up, stand up or walk). The Sepsis settled in my lumbar spine. I ended up in a wheelchair. All the medicine pumped through me for 8 weeks didn’t clear up the infection (Sepsis) in my spine, so underwent another surgery. The neurosurgeon told me afterwards that if I was to walk again, I had to push through the pain (sciatic nerve inflamed)and force myself to walk and the more I walked the faster I would bring myself out of the wheelchair. It took a year for the sciatic nerve to calm down.
I surely know the courage that it took for this young woman to get back up when life knocked her down and she has my admiration for fighting back and beating life at its own game. Sometimes in life we just have to be “stronger than steel.”

I forgot to mention it was my Facebook DWTS voting that wouldn’t let me vote. It better let me vote tomorrow night. I’ve gotten postings of Meryl & Maks on my wall and no one else. I don’t know who controls putting postings on our walls. It has to be the Facebook controllers.
@Heather: based on the rehearsal videos, it appears that it’s at least partly new (James and Peta were doing a long run that didn’t appear anywhere in Cheryl’s tango).
Hi guys!!! I’m confused about redoing their dance styles that they did from the “switch-up” week, do they dance the same routine just like the ones with their switch-up partners or did they just do it differently?

My thought about doing the “Switch Up” again only with their original partner is to give the Celebrates a chance to do the dance the way their pro partner will choreographs it. If I remember correctly, on the Monday night finale, the couples did one of their dances as a remake of what they did in the previous weeks, and during their rehearsals one of the judges would come in and help a couple with the part of the dance to get it right. It doesn’t seem to be that way this season’s finale.
They announced on the news tonight that Mark was seriously injured when his shoulder popped out during a lift and went to the hospital. Hope he’s feeling better tomorrow.

How is the order of dance determined. I thought it was often by cummulative score Will they make Mark go last for suspense? Will they dare put Maks after Derek like they did with Zendaya?

Before all the craziness of the next two nights, I just wanted to thank all of the moderators of this site for providing a great place to discuss season 18 DWTS. It has been a blast, full of information and the best wit ever! I think that whatever happens tomorrow might there probably will be blood on the floor, at least figuratively. IMO this has been one of the most divisive seasons of the show with the most blatant favoritism ever seen. However, the mods on this site have allowed us to give voice to a wide range of opinions and I wanted to thank you for that.
Got an email from ABC.com this AM reminding me about the finals (like I needed that). Three photos of DWTS on the email blast. One of the three stooges plus Kenny Ortega. The other two, Meryl and Maks. Even when they ask who will win in the copy, M&M are first. Subtle there’re TPTB….
Sueb #53 I got that email too and thought the exact same thing. Last I checked, there were other couples in the finals but save for the little blurb underneath one of the giant M&M pics, you’d never know from that email.
Sueb and Debbie — The only good thing to say about that is since they still feel they have to push M/M means that TPTB aren’t in “total control” of who wins. So if the other couples don’t get totally hosed, it is entirely possible for someone other than M/M to win. The moral: VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!
Susan #55, quite true. It seems like desperation at this point which makes me think the votes are probably close for them to be pushing so hard. I’ll definitely be voting my bum off tonight.
Also my curiosity got the best of me (this happens quite often lol) after seeing that email, I got curious as to whether ABC emails from previous seasons have pimped any couple so blatantly (btw as blatant as the pimping is, I’ve read comments elsewhere that claim that Amy is the one being pimped and favored. Talk about alternate universe lmao). Anyways I searched my email to see what I could find:
2009 – Both finale announcement emails had pics of the 3 finalists. Gilles, Melissa, Shawn and Maya, Donny, Kellie
2010 – I could only find one email but behold, all 3 finalists are mentioned (Erin, Evan, Nicole). No pics in the email but links to all their pics
2011 – JR, Ricki, Rob all pictured. The May season all I found was a final 5 email but guess what, they could find room for all 5 celebs – Ralph, Chelsea, Hines, Romeo & Kirstie all pictured
2012 – Could only find email for Nov season and Katherine, Donald and William are pictured.
I stopped searching at that point. I didn’t see the need anymore. I satisfied my curiosity. I’m just going to vote my bum off and let the chips fall where they… are nudged.

There is definitely something fishy going on. One poster that I read said she and 7 of her friends who have been voting for Charlie thruout
noted that when they tried to vote for him on FB before he was eliminated said they were told they had no voting history and fb bounced all their votes.
Also, a lot of M&M fans are creating fake fb so they can vote multiple times. They were even bragging about it on one site.
I am resigned at this time that M&M is getting that MBT but this season
truly is one of the worst that I’ve watched ever.
First, a hearty agreement with #52 Judy’s comments.
Second, to PH, other moderators, and John: Is it possible to put a time stamp along with the posting date? (e.g., “commented on May 19, 2014 at 11:44 am EDT”) That would help persons reading the blog when they can to understand the context of a post (after midnight the night of a show versus the next mid-morning, for example.)
Let’s hope for spectacular performances from the celebs and pros tonight.
Fake facebook accounts?? That sounds a lot harder than what you have to do to vote multiple times. But it certainly lends more explanation to my comments about Facebook-ology.

Ria, it’s not just Maks and Meryl fans who create fake accounts of one type of another. I’ve seen people doing the same thing for other couples in the past few weeks. I think some of the mods on this site even have tutorials on how to do it. The producers know and expect that this happens and I’m sure they are good with it.
I suppose the odds of us finding out the songs at this point are slim. I got spoiled by knowing all of the other weeks and now I’m GREEDY!!! 🙂
I just caught a segment on GMA showing everyone rehearsing. It also showed Mark injure himself and the poor guy looked like he was in a lot of pain. I hope he feels much better today and can still participate. All of these pros and celebs get my respect for the physical beating they give their bodies to put on a great performance and also for putting themselves out there to all the ugliness from people tearing down and insulting them from behind a keyboard. I don’t think I could do it just for that latter reason alone.
For Meryl and Maks fans, they showed Maks rehearsing, from yesterday I think, with a stand in because Meryl was out doing Stars on Ice again. I have no idea how these two are fitting it all in and not falling apart. They also said Meryl is back now and showed her with Maks putting his head on her lap, saying he was like a lost puppy without an owner waiting for her. Meryl said something about how she is usually pretty good at using nervous energy in a positive way, especially after her times at the Olympics etc. I hope they both stay healthy and put on a great show tonight.

I am getting the feeling maybe the win might not be in the Chmerkovskiy bag. Lots of tweets from Val to vote using multiple accounts, also retweets from Zendaya and I think Tony has been on the bandwagon also. They seem to want this thing so badly for Maks. I just don’t get how Meryl has been sort of the vehicle used for Maks to win. The other pros are not acting like this as far as I see.
Judy, it’s also interesting that the tweets are not about Meryl but about it being time for Maks to win or Val’s brother to win as some are calling it. Meryl is just along for the ride…
According to Peta, she and James have the first dance (Tango) and first freestyle. So they have 1st and 5th dance!
And I think they are just throwing their support out for Maks and Meryl. I don’t see MM over-zealously begging for support on twitter, so I guess the fam is doing it for them. Peta and James (apparently) are giving out signed autographs and following twitter followers for certain amounts of votes (500 votes gets you a follow, 2500 gets you an autograph). It’s going around tumblr I’m assuming? Correct me if I’m wrong

I hate internet voting. I hope the website shuts down again. They way Val is tweeting, it seems like that’s what he wants. Phone voting is a more accurate way of showing the sentiments of the public. They should just stick to that.
If Meryl and Maks are going to be dancing last AGAIN (seriously, how many times has this happen this season? Every other week?), I’m going to be PISSED.
I too would feel restricting the finale to phone voting would give a less skewed result. This unlimited 24 hour online stuff they now allow is suspect to say the least.

@Tamara I remember season 16 Zendaya danced last in both the Semifinals and the Finals so it wouldn’t surprised me if they put Meryl last tonight. Besides, her “stripped down freestyle” is gonna be EPIC ya know.. they HAVE to go last *eye roll*.
I guess my prediction of James and Peta going first was right. I’m guessing they might get called safe first too if that happens. I bet Peta (or James) is probably thinking in the back of her mind “everyone who’s gone first lately has been called safe so we might be as well”. Hope they don’t mess with them and tell them they’re in jeaopardy after dancing.. unless they’re going home, which would be sad. Fingers crossed they are indeed safe though!
Derek has twice the followers as the other pros, yet he never goes crazy begging people for votes. I really respect that about him. And I get the feeling Zendaya is really not over losing in season 16, they way she’s pimping for Val and Maks.
Between James’ fans and M&M shippers, there’s a very good chance of the website crashing tonight. and I for one would be ecstatic.
In James and Peta’s defense, the idea of the whole autographs and giveaways came from James’ publicist and the girl who runs the “official” Team “Jeta” Twitter profile. Of course James probably said “sure do it” but it wasn’t actually him who started it.
Now what Val said on his Instagram picture IS very desperate. He sounded like he was begging for votes and that isn’t a good look. And I wouldn’t put it past Val to actually go through with that and get butt naked and run around the studio if Meryl and Maks (well… just Maks) win tomorrow night. Yet another reason why I do not want to see them win. SIGH.
One of Val’s friends tweeted that this was not just a trophy, or a TV show but the validation of a lot of effort with the hashtag “onlyoneMaks” or something like that. Can someone just give him the effing trophy because I worry for his health if he doesn’t get it. I have never in all my years of watching the show seen anything like this desperation. Has anyone else seen this kind of pimping in other seasons? Really curious is this is normal.
Val danced in a speedo. So being naked would be no big deal to him. I on the other hand do not want to see this so I will vote very hard for Amy and get every family & friend to do the same 🙂
#79 Judy and that’s exactly WHY I don’t want Maks to win. He certainly doesn’t deserve it. His choreography has been subpar. All this bragging on the internet about how great he is it’s like he’s the ONLY one on the show. Mark,Peta and Derek deserve it just as much as he does. But isn’t this supposed to be about the Celebrity? It’s called Dancing with the Stars? Not Dancing with a Professional Ballroom Dancer who’s never won a Mirrorball Trophy.
Then again, it’s Derek who’s got an Emmy! It’s Derek who Elena G had choreograph Meryl and Charlie’s Short Dance last year while she was out on maternity leave. It’s Derek who’s already won 5 MBT’s. Etc. Maks will win tomorrow night (or not) and he’ll run back to his dance studio in NYC while Derek will start his tour with his sister on May 28th!
I’m just sickened by how much Maks has been pimped this season. That’s why I don’t want them to win. Meryl is a perfectly fine dancer and seems like a sweet person. If she’s had to put up with him all season, she must be. I wish they’d have paired her with Val. Not Derek because we’d hear nothing but how UNFAIR it was that Derek got paired with yet another ringer….funny how we aren’t hearing that from the MnM camp.
I am almost to the point where I would love to see Candace and Mark win just to throw a wrench into everyone’s plan. I’m still voting hard for Amy and Derek.
Over an hour ago, Candace posted on her Facebook page about Mark’s shoulder injury and saying that she still doesn’t know if he’s going to dance tonight. She practiced for 5 hours yesterday with another dancer in case Mark is unable to dance. She said that she was also injured on a minor scale yesterday and is in a lot of pain today. Her back went into spasms and that she has a bruised rib. She didn’t sound good at all and is asking for prayer for both of them.
Maybe I’m hoping that Maks will finally get this MBT, so he can go in peace, leave this show for good, and I won’t have to watch him anymore. I can’t stand him, I really can’t.
@Amen to everything you said KellyK. It sickens me that every comment on any Instagram photo of M&M (and actually, other celebs’ photos too) says: “Meryl and Maks deserve to win because IT IS MAKS’ TIME TO WIN….. and Meryl is a good dancer too”.
And I am with you Tamara. The only reason why I would want Maks to win tomorrow is so that he can leave the show for good and never come back again. Get your trophy and gtfo and never come back. You’re never winning again with any other partner you get anyways.
But Tamara, the nightmare might just be getting started. The speculation in some circles is that getting Maks his MBT is the gateway for him coming back as a judge! It would be such a brilliant move, getting someone who describes himself as not good with words to be a judge whose job revolves around talking, a lot, and often. The stuff of nightmares? I think so.

Well, if Maks is coming back as a judge, then someone must be on drugs. Why would you show a respect to someone who doesn’t know how to show respect towards other people, is dissing everyone whenever they can and is abusive towards his partners? I hope that this is just another gossip or I’m done with the show. For real.
If Maks is on the show as a full-time judge, I never want to watch DWTS again. Doubly so if it’s sans Derek. This season, I think, with the guest judges, the over-pimping of MnM, the ridiculous theme nights besides Most Memorable Year and Disney night and the inconsistent judging, has been the WORST in recent history.
The only bright spot for me, has been Amy Purdy and the brilliant dances Derek created for her! No other Pro could’ve done that in my mind and they certainly wouldn’t be in the finals, that’s for sure. It’s Derek’s 4th straight Final. Maks doesn’t deserve a trophy simply because he’s never won before. If that’s true then bring Anna Trebunskaya back, or Louis Van Amstel back, both of whom are better choreographers than Maks imho, and let THEM win once too!!
Only one Maks? Thank Jesus for that. There’s also only one pro with an Emmy.

I just read comments from Conrad Green that make me think he is QUITE the Maks fan so he might also be behind the push not just for “Maks turn to win” but also Maks as judge. Why do I say a big fan, because nobody but a fangirl sees the stuff that Conrad is saying regarding Maks. A change in attitude, vulnerability, great dancing and connection-that’s like tin-foil hat territory. Maks has sat back on his ass and let Meryl’s notoriety and the Chermosky crazies and the producers apparent guilt complex or little league attitudes bring him a MBT, and he has nooooo problem than that. Charlie should have been in this final instead of Meryl and that really sucks. And I always liked Meryl and Charlie but to see someone like her participating in the vomit-inducing behavior regarding Maks has definitely changed my mind about her.
@rainemayer It seems to me that Conrad has a little man crush on Maks because he mantioned him in that interview way too much. For what it’s worth though, with Conrad leaving this show I don’t think he’ll have much of a say on wether or not Maks becomes a judge next season or not.
My money is on all the original judges coming back next season. But of course the whole summer we’ll be hearing talks about one of them possibly not coming back. CAI has nothing better to do so I see her probably being asked back — same with Bruno. Len’s a wild card and he’s the only one I’m not so sure might come back. However, if Len doesn’t come back, they better get a judge with the same amount of experience as his, because while he may be old, grumpy and irritating sometimes, he knows what he’s talking about very often.
If Derek and Amy are doing something aerial, would it make sense for them to go last so the set wouldn’t have to be broken down for the next performance?
Conrad Green is leaving after this season I saw an article on deadline Hollywood on it durring upfront week. Looks like there might be a new muppet in charge next season so I don’t think of Conrad green is leaving he’ll have much pull for maks as a judge next season.
I would not assume they are going to follow the usual pattern of calling “safe” or “in jeopardy” when there are only four people left. For one thing, all will be in jeopardy but one. But yes, I did say that if they do do it the old way, they will call James safe FIRST and have all the rest in jeopardy.
This is just horrible when the one male pro I really like is possibly not dancing! Poor Mark and poor Candace, She has worked so hard and done so well up to this point.
This will ruin tonight if Candace and Mark can’t dance together.
Zendaya is a child. Maks and Val are most certainly not.
Judy, this pimping has been done before although I would say it’s at an all time high. But it’s made infinitely worse by the pathetic pros who are just begging for it.
This is why Derek has won so many times…he doesn’t actually make it about winning. Go figure.
Please be careful to distinguish between “rumor” and “speculation” – they are two very different words. One is something that one heard from a “source” and it may or may not be true. The other is what we do here where we talk about what might happen. Pretty sure that “Maks the judge” started on websites like this one with people just “guessing” at what Maks’ stupid announcement was.

I’m pretty sure that if couples know when they’re dancing they aren’t doing results until the very end.
Last season they all danced and then announced the first 2 Top 3 and then 4th placed was eliminated and then they picked each others 24 hour fusions before the elimination takes place.
First time commenting but a long time reader and fan, many thanks to the mods for so clearly analyzing and dissecting this crazy show.
I’m probably a “day late and a buck short” with this (that’s such a great expression) but the freestyle I’m looking forward to the least is Meryl’s, which based on the clip above seems to be a contemporary. They have already made 2 dances into contemporary imitations — is Maks so arrogant that he thinks his spammers’ votes will be enough? Because the point of the freestyle is to showcase the celebrity WHILE putting forth something creative. At this point, contemporary is noting more than a standard dance for the two of them. Take notes, Maks: the reason Kellie’s contemporary worked was because it was completely unexpected from her and UNIQUE. The same can’t be said for Meryl.
I think part of that article is the interviewer made it about Maks. It is like a fan interviewing Conrad. Instead of talking about the run as a whole, it was all about Maks. Oh and evil Amy who has such an advantage and is getting away with dances but Meryl is amazing and Maks deserves his pity trophy, etc. Eye roll
It looks like Candace and James have high energy and we know Maks is going for contemporary. It will be good bc that is what Meryl does well. She was trained to get into characters of dance, Conrad! I wonder if they would out Candace after James or put ?Meryl and Amy back to back. If
Amy goes second IMO, it seals it for Meryl because she will go last and tptb would want to separate Maks choreo from comparison to Derek.
How can we stop this insanity! I for one have to get off the internet, but the Chmerkovskiy dance studio is tweeting about some internet problem and going on about bringing the trophy home to their studio etc. It is incredible. I have been checking the pros and their celeb twitter accounts and no one but Maks’ family and friends and Zendaya are tweeting to vote for a couple to “bring it home” etc. I think I will have shut it out because it is making me nuts. I really don’t want Maks the self important boob to win this stupid trophy!
But Carrie Ann will still cry and say ?Meryl and Maks should get married and how Maks is amazing and great he is back blah blah tonight,

I kind of hope the Maks (or Jeta) spammers will crash the ABC servers like last year with Zendaya’s spammers…lol Would serve them right to have all of the online votes be thrown out and have it be phone and FB votes only. Then we’d truly see which star the public liked the best! And it might not be Meryl…or even Amy for that matter! HA!
Penny, in interviews, Maks sounds like he is trying to copy the style and magic of Kellie and Derek’s freestyle, describing it as ‘stripped down,” but he won’t be able to.
My personal belief is that Carrie Ann has found her own love life so (quite understandably) lacking that she’s living vicariously through Meryl and Maks’s false one. Maybe it’s something about an unlovable person finding “love”? Correct me if I am wrong, but what credentials whatsoever does she have in the world of dance? To my knowledge, absolutely NONE, besides being a “fly girl.” Out of pure spite, I would love to see her dance ballroom sometime — bet she couldn’t hold a tenth of a candle to any pro. I’m sorry if this seems unnecessarily rude, but after hearing her pompous, addled critiques to Charlie I can’t look at her without resisting the urge to throw my remote at my TV.
From the looks of the picture posted, are Charlie and Sharna doing Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious? I hope so!

2nd….I would like to thank all who monitor postings and try to keep this a peaceful and comfortable place to come and share our thoughts and knowledge concerning DWTS in a tactful and adult manner. As a recently signed-up member, I have enjoyed coming here and I do not feel that I can not express my opinions (even if they don’t agree with others), but done in a matter as to not offend.
And, I can’t find the words to express how glad I am that a while back I decided to check out another site; and realized that some things are not tolerated here as the other place where I came from.

They will do anything to make Meryl and Maks the champs. Candace and Mark may not have been a 30 but they weren’t a 24 either…especially not if James was a 29. IMO, shows you how well Candace has been doing in the fanbase votes.
Well, it goes against the grain, but I just split my votes Candace / Amy with 5 different phone numbers for each and the FB link and the abc link. The judges have tried so hard to ditch James and Candace. James’ dance was not a 29 and Candace’s was not a 24. Both about a 27 IMO. And LEN I’m sick of your crap with the FREE STYLE round—it’s FREE STYLE–they can do anything they want, it has nothing to do with what you personally like. You are there to JUDGE what you saw irrespective of your personal opinion. Next….
OMG I was laughing so hard when Meryl said (im paraphrasing) that basically she was trying to get Maks the trophy… isn’t that the theme of the show.. lets get Maks a trophy. Lets get Maks someone that’ll make him look good so that we can give him the trophy. Oh and by the way let’s ensure that Candace doesnt win based on the conservative vote, lets hose her with 8s…(lol). Nothing Meryl did seemed to be outside of anything she’s not already done. Yes I love Meryl and respect her abilities but you but her in a hip hop dance and have her pop and lock… ( okay maybe not that extreme) but point made. Another contemporary freestyle with the same ole choreographed moves that we’ve seen all season… In my opinion Amy should win thats the growth Arc that keeps me watching this show… Im considering retiring this show, the last nail in the coffin would be Maks being a judge…yuck!!

I think they want the Derek/Mark fans to split their votes. One reason why Charlie was expendable last week. That way in the finals his fans can vote for Meryl and not split their vote. Split votes is how the person you want to win, doesn’t win.

Sometimes it is not how you win but how you lose that defines your character.
TPTB have no one to blame but themselves if the show gets cancelled. I think the only way to save the show is to make the voting process transparent and give us the number of votes during or after elimination.
Please fire Carrie Ann and bring in Elena Grinenko as a judge.
