Derek Hough Dances With Jenny McCarthy And Sherri Shepherd On The View (Photos)

Aren’t these some fantastic shots of Dancing With The Stars Derek Hough? Yesterday, he made a guest appearance to talk about his “Move Live On Tour” with ssiter Julianne Hough. They also talked on his recent cover and interview in People Magazine and signing with Kelloggs to help promote their cereal and good nutrition. Derek also danced with Jenny McCarthy (wouldn’t it be cool to see her do Dancing With The Stars and she looks so good with Derek!) and Sherri Shepherd. What a great show. Note how Donnie Walberg (he’d be a great get for Dancing With The Stars too, huh Court?) and Rick Fox were on the show as well. To see more photos, see Getty Images. To see even more pictures, the full video of this interview, and lots more on the “Move Live On Tour”, see Pure Derek Hough.

Dancing With The Stars Cheryl Burke Judges Belly Flop Contest On Jimmy Kimmel Live

This is funny. Last night, Dancing With The Stars Cheryl Burke helped to judge Jimmy Kimmel’s annual Belly Flop contest. Olympian Greg Louganis, Cheryl Burke and “Wipeout” host John Henson also join in the fun. What’s more, after Cheryl’s appearance, she tweeted(joked) that Guillermo was her partner for next season’s Dancing With The Stars. LOL!

Also, check out Getty Images when you get a moment for some new pictures of Cheryl sighted in Los Angeles. I’m loving her leather pants.

ETA: You can also listen to a new interview with Cheryl and CBSLocal in Dallas here. She talks about doing Ballroom With A Twist, Dancing With The Stars, Emmitt Smith, and more!

Maks Chmerkovskiy Interviewed On Showmancing, Dating, And Leaving DWTS

Maks Chmerkovskiy was interviewed by Access Hollywood today upon his arrival back from India. They ask him on who he’s dating and all the rumors that have come out. He refuses to answer and says it’s nobody’s business. Twitter and fans aren’t going to tell him who he can date (why were they trying to do so in the first place? Crazy!). With that said, they also ask him on showmancing. He answers that it’s a “happily ever after” storyline that everyone loves in the end (they do? I don’t! I just want the couples to stay real!). They also ask him on leaving on Dancing With The Stars. He says he’s probably not coming back as a “dancer” since he can’t get that “involved” again and that this last season “was the most he could give”. More below.

ETA: Maks added this at twitter (along with the Access Hollywood link): “I’m grateful for, and love the fans of my work…not of my personal life! Have an amazing day y’all ;)”

Way to go Maks! I don’t blame him at all for addressing his fans like that.

Val Chmerkovskiy Interviewed On Ballroom With A Twist, DWTS, And Being a Violinist

The official summer season of Ballroom With A Twist starts this weekend. Val Chmerkovskiy and Anna Treybunskaya will be dancing in Brooks, California at the Cache Creek Casino Resort. The Sacramento Bee interviewed Val about the show. He talks all about it below for how the show is more than just dancing. He also talks about Dancing With The Stars and being a violinist…

“This show is a fusion of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ alumni and finalists from ‘American Idol,’ ” Chmerkovskiy explained. “It’s hip-hop with a bit of a twist, bringing in some ballroom dancing. Somewhat into the show, we invite the audience to come on stage and it turns into a big dance party.

“Nobody feels intimidated,” he continued. “We don’t grab people and throw them on stage. We’ve never had a problem, believe me, getting people to participate. The group that comes on stage is clearly dominated by women, but there’s a mix. The audience is so comfortable by that time because we work hard to build a relationship.”

But the show is more than just dancing, Chmerkovskiy said.

“Another twist is a Q and A we have at the end of the show,” he said. “I am enjoying these shows immensely and the venues in which I’ve performed. I’ve never had such a privilege before.”

Chmerkovskiy has been with “Dancing With the Stars” through many changes, a significant one last year being the dropping of the live orchestra, which stirred a controversy among loyalists.

“I was sad, of course,” Chmerkovskiy said of the change. “There’s a beauty in live music that can never be substituted by electronics. But there’s also another side. Pop music changes so much there are sounds that can’t be replicated by live musicians, and last year, I think, was the best season we had music-wise.”

Chmerkovskiy knows more about music than just how to dance to it. He’s also a violinist, which he describes as his “first passion.” He took up the instrument when he was 5 years old in Odessa, Ukraine.

“I took it very seriously until I became a concert master of a youth orchestra when I was 17 or 18,” he said. “Then my teacher moved to San Francisco, and once he was gone, I lost it. Without practice, my skill level fell. I don’t play it with any seriousness now.”

More at the The Sacramento Bee. If interested in seeing ballroom With A Twist this weekend or anytime this summer, see this link for our schedule and ticket information.

Rumor: Landon Donovan Or Another Soccer Player To Compete In DWTS Season 19?

Will Landon Donovan or another soccer player dance In Dancing With The Stars Season 19? According to Hollywood Life, this might be a possibility? Note how Landon was rumored to dance in Season 11 as well by the same source. Like then, I think they are taking a bit of gamble …not that I would be against it. He might make a great pairing with Karina? What do you think if true?

“They have wanted Landon forever for the show,” a Dancing With The Stars insider EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com. “Now that everyone is having World Cup fever and Landon was left off the team…they want him to win another trophy — the Mirror Ball trophy.”

We don’t blame the network! Athletes have a great track record for winning on the show! Landon, 32, is considered to be one of the best American soccer players off all time so who says he won’t be just as good when it comes to tangoing?

HollywoodLife.com has also learned that if Landon declines the offer, ABC still wants a soccer hunk to join the dancing duos.

“They are putting the full court press on getting him this time and will also reach out to anyone from the U.S. team that makes a name for themselves in the next month,” the insider adds. “They are very interested in making it finally happen. What better time then now?”
