New Dancing With The Stars Tour In The Making For 2015?
Below is a fun new Dancing With The Stars scoop from Kristyn Burtt. She mentions how a new Dancing With The Stars Tour is in the making for 2015! THANKS KRISTYN! The more dancing tours, the better. Bring them on!
How successful was the Dwts Vegas show?
Great and producers probably saw the sold out success of Move Live and saw dollar signs tbh. But I would rather see Move Live. It features amazing dancers along with Derek and Julianne. It attracts not just dwts fans. Unless they let Derek and Julianne producer and choreograph it. Also dwts tour requires good celebs who have that time off to tour too. And the top pros. I doubt even if they get like Sabrina people would not go to see the troupe dance. Or I wouldn’t. But good on them. Curious if sytycd is doing a tour in the fall like usual? I don’t think Derek would do a dwts tour when he sold out doing his own show with his sister where they produced it. Guessing same for Maks and Val.
I’ve been to both BWAT and Move Live, and the only show I’d see again is Move. I’d pay more to get better tickets, actually. BWAT has way too many people and you don’t get to see your favorites for very long. Derek and Julianne (or at least one of them) are on stage the whole show. I was impressed. No filler! A DWTS tour would probably do ok, but I doubt they would have near the kind of success the Houghs have had. And how long did it take for Maks and Val to sell out the cheaper tickets for the second show? Quite a while, and only after they added Peta and Elena. And there’s still plenty of VIP tickets available. So I’m saving my money for another Move tour!
If they are going to do the tour, I hope they get some of the past contestants to stop in and do some of thier most popular dances. For example, Kirstie redoing her cha cha or Charlie and Sharna doing that jazz dance live.
I agree with Roni! I saw Move Live on Tour last week and it was phenomenal! Either Derek or Julianne were on the stage the whole show and it was NON STOP!! Pretty much all the shows have sold out. I so hope the Hough’s do another tour next summer given the phenomenal success of this one! I KNOW I’d go see them again!! Hopefully, they add more stops and come just a little bit closer to me, like Cleveland OH! And I’d DEFINITELY PAY $400 for Ultimate VIP to meet them again as they are so sweet and charming people!!
If DWTS decided to do this tour, I hope they bring back some of their more popular contestants…like Shawn Johnson…or Amber Riley…not Sabrina Bryan/Joey Fatone….they already did Vegas and All Stars (so did Shawn J) but Shawn Johnson was PHENOMENAL to watch and 2 of her ALL STAR dances won Derek his first Emmy!! Amy Purdy wouldn’t be a bad former contestant to bring back either ;)….IF Derek was doing the tour….which I doubt he’d do…given the success of the Move tour…at least I hope he doesn’t anyways(do this possible DWTS tour).
Ya know, I really hope the rumor of a DWTS show is true. I would love to treat my sister to tickets (not without me!)
She’s had a very hard time the last 5 years health-wise. Whipple surgery, then on the list for 2 years for a double lung transplant, which she finally got almost 2 years ago.
Hopefully if the tour happens they come to Indy. I’d go to Chicago as well but would rather pluck out my eyelashes one by one than drive in Chicago traffic.
Agree with Kelly that I’d like to see some past contestants on the tour that didn’t participate in All-Stars. Kyle Massey, Bill Engvall and Amy would all be wonderful.
One thing I didn’t like before about DWTS tours is that the pros easily got burned out. They did a season and went straight to practice for the tour, followed by the tour and then straight to practice with their new celebrity partner, show for a few months and then immediately to practice and tour, followed by the next season…..
I know that people want to see their favorite pros, and the constant go-go-go! of season/tour/season/tour leave absolutely no down time for the pro dancers!
I don’t want to be the spoil sport, but I like that there’s a break for the dancers in between seasons. They have (some) time to decompress and relax and enjoy themselves and rest and do things that THEY want to do, not connected with the show. And, they start the next season fresh.
I know that they’re under contract so they’ll go on tour as soon as a season ends, but I wonder…. It could be the best for us fans, but is it the best for the pro dancers? I’m not sure about it.
And that said, none of these tours ever come close enough to me that I can easily go. MOVE came within 4 hours or so, but I couldn’t make it, when they were in my part of the US, it interfered with my kids and school and several other Life interferences.
Can’t imagine Derek doing this. He has his own unique branding now and going back to anything DWTS would be a step back imo. Unless it helped fund some endeavour of his own I can’t see him doing it. Besides that though, I think it is a lame, cash grabbing idea. Do the BWAT shows sell out? How many dancing shows will people go to and spend money. There are great touring Broadway shows and theatre shows in most places that compete with all these dancing things. It ties down the pros as others have said so they can’t expand themselves for when the show actually does get kicked off the air. I think it is too late for this. Derek took the void and created something great but I think that DWTS has missed the opportunity now.
Judy, I think you’ve got it exactly correct.
I was thinking the same as Lori.
I thought what a bummer for the pros who may want to enjoy their summer and do their own thing; rest, travel and run their businesses like Karina or acting, auditioning. The pros are always mentally and physically wiped out at the end of their seasons. I’d rather go see them doing their own thing that they’ve arranged to fit having a life outside of DWTS. But I guess they’ll have to under their contracts, maybe some of the older pros won’t have to if they negotiated more freedom then the newbies. At least give them their summers.
