5. Why do you love Dancing With The Stars? I love dancing and because no matter what happens, it’s always full of passion and a journey. It makes me smile and dance. I love the fans too.
1. Let the Groove Get In- Justin Timberlake (love that song)

3. Derek Hough (I would have dinner with him 3 times instead if possible haha!), Sharna Burgess and Emma Slater
4. Amy Purdy, Donald Driver, Joey Fatone
5. I love the story lines of seeing the celebs work towards a goal. It makes them feel like people just like us rather than just celebrities. I also love watching the pro dances and the glamour behind it all.
1) Happy by Pharrel or Classic by MKTO. Love those songs. Always makes me want to ge up and dance.

4.- James Maslow (he is so…. speechless… sigh*), Amy Purdy (inspiring) Charlie White (smile)
5.- DWTS is the best dance contest in the world.
My song/video that I would dedicate for National Dance Day is a bit of a random one in Aaliyah’s ‘Are You That Somebody?’. While it may not be a real ‘get up and dance’ song, it was the first ever music video where I really wanted to learn the choreography for and it really gave me that passion in dance. Also, ‘Crazy in Love’ by Beyonce.
I would suggest the classic Footloose as a movie to watch this weekend in honor of National Dance Show.
The three dance pros I would have to dinner would be Kym, Cheryl and Val. (although I wanted Emma and Derek too. :D)
The three celebrities I’d have to dinner would be: Gladys Knight (would love to know of the tremendous stories in her career), Buzz Aldrin (I can imagine he’d have some amazing stories to tell and relive) and Brandy Norwood (I love her music).
I love Dancing with the Stars because it’s able to reach out to all ages. The whole family can sit down and watch it and it’s really the return of light-hearted variety on television.

2. Footloose
3. Derek Hough, Tristan McManus and Emma Slater
4. Charlie White, Amy Purdy, Bill Engvall

This is such a cute idea…. thanks Vogue!
1. What does the Fox Say? Aint Nothing Wrong with that. Happy and Come get it Bae (love pharrell)
2. All the Step Ups – they’re so bad, they’re awesome.
3. Val, Sharna and Peta…. And if I have the option to pick ANY dancer from any show – I would pick Twitch and Allison Holker. Twitch is one of my all time Faves.
4. Kirstie Alley, Erin Andrews (those two are my favorite seasons with Maks), and Sherri Shepherd…. we’d all have fun together.
5. I love dance, I love the competition, I love the sparkly outfits, I love watching journeys, I love seeing how it could benefit someone who is going through something awful, I love Tom Bergeron.
YW and thanks ALL! I’m loving your replies…especially to the last question! xx
lol Megan!! I love them!!
1) “YMCA” . It’s just one of those songs that can just throw me right on the dance floor and get moving. It also has some sentimental meaning to me and some very fond memories.
2) I haven’t really seen that many dances flicks but Footloose is such a classic so I would probably go with that.
3) Derek Hough, Sharna Burgess and Maksim Chmerkovskiy (to get a better sense of who he really is and see if I can come to understand him a bit better)
4) Amy Purdy, Charlie White and Zendaya
5) I love dancing with the stars because it showed me a love for dancing that I never thought I had in me. Most people that know me always think I’m that one person who never dances at parties or any events but this show actually has made me kinda “break free” a little and just get up and dance whenever I can! I’ve even shown some people some ChaCha steps here and there (even though I’m no professional and probably know nothing about it lol)

I have loved every dance in 18 seasons! There is always something that I am pleasantly surprised about. The show has inspired me to write poems and guest columns for this site. They have generously accepted my creative work. I hope the show has many more seasons to keep whetting my DWTS appetite! My heart sings when I watch the show. In try to follow every bit of news that comes out about the show. I think you could say I am a very happy DWTS viewer! I await each season with the same enthusiasm that I have had since Season One. 5. Loved the show from the beginning. Have seen it change for the better from season to season,
the sets and the costumes, they seem to have over come costume malfunctions and get better with each season. Totally entertaining. Liked the one night programming this season. Season 18 was the best ever.

2) Step Up, Footloose
3) Derek, Sharna, Peta
4) Amy, Charlie, James
5) choreography, music, costumes, accomplishment, seeing people from diverse backgrounds show us the cool moves they learned every week 🙂
I vote for Derek’s movie – particularly fascinating to watch the extras on the DVD and see him tapping and how great he is at it. No shocker there though.
Although I’m not sure I would call it a dance movie. But I wouldn’t really call Footloose a dance movie either. Both are movies that have dancing. When I think “Dance Movie” I think about those Step Up movies which are all about dancing but not so much a story.
1)Lady Karneval (Karel Gott), The time of my life, Don´t stop the party (Pitbull)
2)Dirty Dancing, Fame (the old one, from 1980)
3)This is kind of hard, because I would love to talk to all of them… But my top three would be Val (because i love him, his work and the way he dance), Derek (because his work is mind blowing to me) and Tristan (because I admire him as a person and as a dancer)… (close to the top are Sharna and Lindsay)
4)The fist one would be Martina Navrátilová, she is one of greatest people from my country and it would be just an honor and a privilege to meet her.
The second one is Danica, not so much because of this show, but because of math. I looked up her work and there are some interesting things.
The last one is between Zendaya and Kellie, because season 16 was very important to me because of both of them.
5)I have started watching this show since season 16. I still remember the first time I saw Zendaya´s jive and fell in love with it. Not just that one dance but dancing in general. Since that I have watched every episode and DWTS just became an important part of my life. I started dancing because of this show and it just showed me a whole new perspective of life. Even with all the controversy, I still see the beautiful message in it – that everybody can dance and that dance is for everybody.
1. All Night or Classic, both just make you want to dance!
2. Grease!
3. Val Chmerkovskiy, Maks Chmerkovskiy, and Sharna Burgess (Peta Murgatroyd if I could add a fourth)

If it’s for sports – Hines Ward, Donald Driver & Apolo Ohno

Deena, I was a pom pom girl back in yee olden days and we did a routine to Boogie Oogie Oogie. Thanks for bringing back the memories!
Meghan, thank you for mentioning Grease! It reminded me also to mention Saturday Night Fever as a dance movie. For me it showed how dance can transform and transcend the mundane into something uplifting and life affirming. What better way to honor National Dance Day.
Thank Terpsichore for dance. Lol!
1. Could I Have This Dance
2. Make Your Move or Footloose
3. Derek, Sharna, Tristan
4. Kellie Pickler, Charlie White, Amy Purdy
5. I love DWTS because I love surprises and every week there are some unexpected things. Also, it takes me away from the horrible things in this world and fills me with joy.
