Bruno Tonioli Chats On Julianne Hough, Len Goodman, and Keeping DWTS Fresh (New Interview)

More with Bruno Tonioli!! Parade interviewed him about Dancing With The Stars. He talks of why Len Goodman needs some time off this season. He also chats about Julianne Hough and keeping the show fresh. More below. Don’t miss reading the full interview at Parade.

How do you think she’ll mesh with the rest of the judges?
“She’s not a beginner in that respect as well. And I think in general, not just with Julianne, you have to be yourself. You have to express yourself and your own feelings. You can’t really worry too much about what the others are going to say. You have to stick with your thoughts and express your thoughts and your feelings in a way that I think connects with the public. My definition of it is that I don’t see myself as there to make an ultimate decision. I feel you have to engage with the public. I don’t consider myself as this totalitarian ruler, I think what you have to do is engage the public into a kind of conversation. We have our opinion and I’m not saying I’m right, but that’s what I feel, and you want to connect with an audience so they feel they can have a conversation with you and I think she can do that very well.”

What are some other changes fans can look forward to this season?
“I think another thing with DWTS is that it’s a constantly evolving show. I think, having been there from the beginning, there’s no drastic changes, but there will be these little things that will keep it fresh and evolving. The dancing is getting better, the production is getting better. I almost say it’s like a love affair, to keep a lover interested you can’t change too much, but you have to always surprise them [laughs]. And that’s really the key to keeping the show fresh and exciting. Our fans are so lovely and so loyal and we’ve never taken them for granted. We’re not just showing up and doing more of the same, we try to keep it real.”

Two more days and counting!

Ultrasound sales specialist by day, semi-knowledgeable DWTS fan by night...with a smattering of hair & makeup enthusiast, occasional model, baker, and crazy cat lady peppered in to make things REALLY interesting ;-) I might pee my pants in happiness if Donnie Wahlberg ever does DWTS - or if they ever use "Sunglasses at Night" as a paso doble.

DWTS2014 Janel Parrish And Val Chmerkovskiy Interviewed By US Weekly

Good Day All! For some starter news today, what is former Dancing With The Stars contestant Brant Daugherty doing at rehearsals? Apparently, he stopped by to wish Janel Parrish some good luck on the show. You can see some fun pics of them at the link. It’s good to see him again.

Speaking of Janel, she tells Us Weekly that when “she’s not worrying about keeping her jive choreography straight, she’s daydreaming about the outfits she’ll get to wear in the ballroom.” Below is more including some thoughts from Val.

“I cannot stress enough how excited I am for the outfits. I am the biggest girly girl and love shiny, fringy things. Bring it, I’m ready!”

A quick learner thanks to childhood dance training in ballet, jazz and hip-hop, Parrish has already impressed Chmerkovskiy with her dedication to DWTS.

“People have really high expectations for Janel, obviously, so I want to exceed those. She’s got a great attitude,” the pro tells Us. “To listen to the sound of my voice for four hours every day is tough — I commend her on being patient with me. We practice about four to five hours a day. She is still alive!”

Stay tuned. More coming up! 😉
