Carrie Ann Inaba Writes About DWTS19 Week 6, Did You Like Her Dress?

Carrie Ann Inaba has posted a new blog for Parade. She writes of how cool it was to see some redemption dances. I thought this passage was interesting too on how she can understand why Pitbull said Val and Janel’s dance lacked passion. This makes sense. Let us know what you think….

The other surprise of the night was that Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy were in jeopardy. Seeing them in the bottom two was disturbing to say the least. Janel is one of the frontrunners, and I would be devastated if she went home at this point in the competition. She’s such a force of nature. Her versatility is incredible and to be envied. She is a multifaceted performer and she excites me with her well-nuanced performances. Guest judge PitBull made an interesting observation last night when he said he didn’t feel the passion. I find Janel to be an incredibly passionate performer. But this morning I can see what he was talking about. There was a disconnect between her passion for the movements and her connection to Val. She was too concentrated on the choreography, and she wasn’t able to connect as easily to Val or to the music. This is what I believe he was speaking to. This is actually a great note for Janel. She is a dynamic performer with layers and layers of abilities and emotional nuances to pull from in her performances. Let’s hope she doesn’t go home. Please America don’t let us have another Sabrina Bryan moment!
