Mark Ballas And Sadie Roberton Blog About Dancing With The Stars Halloween Night
Whoa…going to the Hollywood Life almost scared me right out of my chair. And we thought Mark Ballas’ eyes were scary Monday night. 😯 Also featured at the link is Mark’s new blog. He writes all about Halloween night on Dancing With The Stars. He gives huge props to the crew for all the work put into their routines and more. Sadie also had a few words to say.
It was really hard for me to put my contact lenses in — I have a phobia about my eyes, so I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to do it or not! They ended up hiring a professional to clamp my eyes open and stick in the contacts! In dress rehearsal, it was super smooth, but in the live show, I was blind for about 15 minutes. I couldn’t see a thing! We ended up changing them and I could see again, but I was prepared to go out there and do the routine without being able to see, but luckily they fixed it!
Loved the costumes! HUGE shoutout to wardrobe, hair, makeup, and art direction! The ‘DWTS’ team did an amazing job at bringing my vision to life.
Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year, so being able to express myself this way and with Sadie was truly an honor! I’m so proud of Sadie, and I feel like the judges could have cut her a little more slack, but you win some and you lose some. Overall, I’m really happy with the night, and it’s all good!
From Sadie:
So we were the underdogs in the group dance this week, but we all had so much fun. You wouldn’t think I’d have that much fun with three old men, but it was SUCH a blast!
I feel like America really had our backs! We got the loudest applause after the dance! It was just amazing. I really thought we killed it, even though the scores didn’t really help us out.
More at Hollywood Life.
Mark’s comments are a lot nicer than I expected or what I would have had to say. He looked livid on Monday after scores/comments and I did not blame him.
I loved both Team Dances. Both cleverly choreographed. The human spider was a really creative trick! The dance was superb! My choice that I liked best was Team Creepy. There was so many cinematic beats to in. Reminded me of a Broadway production. I would say I loved Team Creepy the best. It was a high energy treat! Whereas Team ITSYBITSY was more like a precision drill team. I was hoping Creepy would win the battle.
Sadie & Mark are the best this season & from week 1 have not gotten a fair score. The judges are terrible. They have truly been underscored. I am only watching DWTS & if Sadie gets eliminated I will never watch the show again. I was so disappointed to see Julianne judging this show for the simple reason her brother competes. Come on now, we aren’t going to be a little biased with our kin folk? DWTS is not what it use to be & the celebrities despite where there roots are from should be judged on their dancing skills not whether daddy approves a costume or dance move?!?!?!??!!
SADIE & MARK ROCK!!!!! AMAMZING JOB EACH & EVERY WEEK. YOU GET MY VOTES EACH & EVERYWEEK! MARK,YOU HAVE DONE AN AMAZING JOB WITH SADIE!! LOL
Yeah, Lori – that’s quite enough of that. This ain’t the abc.com boards.
PH – Keeping the blog civilized, one post at a time 😉
You wouldn’t believe how much work that is, lurker. 🙂
Three old men?! LOL Too funny.
I always find it funny that people complain about the Julianne bias – no one ever screams about CAI having dated both Tony and Artem. I don’t think it’s inappropriate at all. The ballroom world is small, so everyone knows each other anyway. Likewise, I would have been fine with Maks judging Val, or Shirley judging Mark and Derek. It’s a tv show, not an Olympic event.
Anyway, upon rewatch I think I like Team Creepy a tad bit more – I appreciate the nuance of each of the individual dancers and the story they told. That being said, still loved Itsy Bitsy. But Mark and Derek should both be proud of what they did with their team dances.
Great comment #Figmentation – I love DWTS, but let’s not forget that the winner gets a mirrored ball trophy!
