Anna Trebunskaya Interviewed About DWTS and Ballroom With A Twist

This week former Dancing With The Stars pros Anna Trebunskaya and Dmitry Chaplin will be performing in Ballroom With A Twist in New Hope, Pennsylvaia. Anna talks all about with Central Jersey.

The show promises glamorous costumes, music and top-notch dance performances that push the boundaries of ballroom dance, infusing it with the energy and intensity of the latest contemporary styles.

”It takes a little from each show and so hopefully people that come to the show get a little taste and feel of the excitement,” Ms. Trebunskaya says. “Dancing is fun, beautiful and everyone loves beautiful music and costumes. Even when guys say they don’t care about it, they still enjoy seeing good-looking girls in good-looking costumes.”

Known for her dry humor, sparking personality and the jaw-dropping Argentine tango she performed with partner Olympic skater Evan Lysacek in season 10 of Dancing With the Stars, Ms. Trebunskaya left the show last year to have a baby.

”I just had a daughter and she takes a lot of time, so my commitment needs to be to her first. It’s an adventure like no other and changes every day,” she says. “Being in a show like ‘Ballroom With a Twist’ is more flexible than doing ‘Dancing With the Stars’ and as you get older, your priorities change.”

While she admits to missing Dancing With the Stars, she has returned to sit in the audience and still keeps in close contact with many of her fellow dancers.

”I love everyone on that show. I still watch it, I talk about it and I even co-host an after-show in which I critique what I saw,” Ms. Trebunskaya says. “A lot of my friends are still on the show, so there’s definitely a strong connection. It will forever be in my life to an extent.”

More at Central Jersey including a beautiful pic of her and Dmitry. For ticket information for how you can attend the show, see this link. The shows are running from November 4th through the 9th.

Afterbuzz TV And Henry Byalikov Review Dancing With The Stars 19 Week 8

Ready for another Dancing With The Stars from the Kristyn Burtt and the Afterbuzz TV Gang? If so, check it out below and let us know what you think. This time Henry Byalikov joins them. He reveals some cool behind the scenes information. He also gives us some sneak peeks for the upcoming show. At the end, he talks of his plans for the off season….note how he plans to do Sway and the Dancing With The Stars cruises. Though he won’t be in the new Dancing With The Stars Tour since those dates conflict with his schedule. He said the same could be true for others with the same or other obligations. Does this mean Peta, Sharna, Artem, Tony, and Val won’t be in the new tour too…especially since some of them are also doing Ballroom With A Twist as well?

VOTE For Sadie Robertson’s New DWTS Costume, Mark Ballas New Blog

Mark Ballas has written a new blog at Hollywood Life. Isn’t this cool for how they rehearsed for the Apple move?

What really made the routine fun for me was doing the passing of the apple. The fact that we incorporated the apple into the whole dance, without it being attached to anything was super cool and added a danger element, in case anyone dropped it. During rehearsals, we played a game using a softball to get used to a prop. Throughout rehearsals, we would pass the ball to each other without telling the other, and you HAD to catch it! (It also had to be a good throw!) If you dropped the ball, you would have to drop and do 20 pushups and plank for 10 seconds. In five days of playing the game, I only dropped it three times and Sadie dropped it four times. So I ended up winning the game, but that’s how we trained ourselves to be aware of the apple. When we got to the set on Sunday we changed from the softball to the apple, which was a bit more challenging because the apple isn’t as round, but we did a great job adjusting!

Lots more at Hollywood Life including photos backstage of them and BC jean.

Also, be sure you visit E Online as Sadie is asking fans to vote on her “America’s Choice” costume for week 9 of Dancing With The Stars. The poll is open until 2:00pm PT today. So, be sure to get your vote in.

Set to dance the jive with professional partner Mark Ballas, Sadie will either rock Option 1, which is a one shoulder dress, or Option 2, which is a sweetheart neckline. The choice is up to you!

You have until tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov. 5) at 2 p.m. PT to vote for which dress is best! So what are you waiting for? Get to voting now!

Oh, this is hard. I love them both, but I think I’m going with #1!! Let us know which one you choose.

DWTS Carrie Ann Inaba Writes On All The Performances, Gives Advise

Dancing With The Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba has written a new blog at Parade. She writes about each performance this week and also gives some advise. It’s nice to see some love for Sadie and Mark…

She’s back! She had one rough week and we saw a very upset Mark. I even got negative Facebook comments from his mom. But I love the passion. I can’t get mad at that. But listen, when you take creative risks, you are always risking more because judging creativity is very subjective. There is no other criterion for the creative choices. We either love it or hate it. It works or it doesn’t. However, if you take a creative risk and it pays of, it can help your scores out. If not, your scores will drop. Last night, I was reignited in my passion for Sadie. She is such a phenomenon to me. Her bright spirit coupled with those incredible, beautiful long limbs creates some of the most stunning shapes and elegant movements in the ballroom. She’s got the facility that no one else has. Her physicality allows her to give us incredibly gorgeous movement. However, because she is so tall, it takes a lot of strength to control her body and give us power. What I didn’t get to say last night was that I love the way she learns Mark’s choreography, which is filled with intricacies. There are specific points of tension in his choreography. He has such an incredible vocabulary of movement because he knows so many styles. I love the way Sadie performed last night. She had the right tension in all the right places. For example, all those beautiful shapes they created in the beginning of the choreography, with all the negative space, she knew when he wanted the tension and the angst to be in the wrist, or in the ankle. She knew when to let the energy go outward, and then when to come inward. She knew when the line was supposed to be long and supple on one side and crooked and distorted on the other. That is not easy for a beginner. I loved that she nailed those types of details. It shows an eager student who has the hunger and tenacity, and will to win. She’s young and she’s sensitive but she does not crumble. I see in her the will to win. And I feel it. So my advice to Sadie: Build your strength so you can dance as hard as Bethany or Janel while giving us those long beautiful lines that only you can deliver.

For more on all the couples, see Parade. And wow, I’m loving her dress again….
