Flashback Friday: Dancing With The Stars Season 2
We’re back with more Flashback Friday!! YAY! I really enjoy looking back at the show, and would love to hear some of the things you remember from each season! Also, I am only posting one video per couple, and I’m trying to get as much variety of dances as I can.
All three of our judges were back for Season 2. Also back was Tom Bergeron. It’s not DWTS without Tom. 🙂 Harold Wheeler and his Orchestra also returned, along with Pro dancers Louis Van Amstel, Ashly DelGrosso, Edyta Sliwinska and Jonathan Roberts.
Lisa Canning, Tom’s co-host for season 1 was replaced by Samantha Harris. Pro dancers Charlotte Jorgensen and Alec Mazo did not return for season 2. New pro dancers for season 2 were Andrea Hale, Nick Kosovich, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Cheryl Burke, and Anna Trebunskaya. Other changes was increasing the number of couples from 6 to 10, lengthening the show from 60 minutes to 90 minutes, and adding the Results Show.

And for your EXTRA DANCES this week, you’ll have to see for yourself, and just enjoy. Let us know in the comments what you think about these, and any of the other dances. Also, did you go to look at the other dances season 2’s contestants danced? Which ones?
Lori, I’m so enjoying this series. Thanks for all the work!
Kenny was fun lol. Actually loved the entire cast that season. Not a bad apple in the bunch. Even Louis was actually like able thatvseason and I usually hate him. Stacey and drew were my favs though.
Kenny Mayne was robbed! haha
Can’t believe how long the dances were.
Thanks Lori for posting – so fun!!
Rewatching George Hamilton makes me smile. Besides the strange tan he always seems to have, you can just tell that he doesn’t take himself too seriously but on the show he was just even funnier becuase of the reactions the others had to him.
Still remember Jerry’s freestyle in the giant Afro wig. Great series, thanks for all the work….
Aww, the first seasons of dwts-they had that special flare. I think Giselle & Jonathon were amazing together as well Nick & Tatum-both left way to early in their seasons.
Thanks for the flashback-true ballroom -I miss that now on dwts..
Giselle was probably the first contestant that made me go “Who?” and then make me root for her. I wonder what she does now?
This was great, thank you. It makes me remember why I fell in love with this show to begin with. I miss Jonathan Roberts so much. And Edyta, too. I love the actual ballroom dances, and wish they would go back to that and eliminate the jazz and contemporary. Kenny Mayne was better than I remembered. Now I’m inspired to go back and watch the rest of them. Thanks, again.
Deirdre, I miss Jonathon too. I really liked his Standard choreography and how kind and supportive he was with his partners.
To be honest I wasn’t a big Drew fan. I never connected with him. I was a Stacy&Tony fan all the way and was so disappointed when she got injured and couldn’t dance up to her potential.
I also adored Edyta and George.
I would LOVE to see Jonathan on the dance floor again. He always seemed so good natured and no one looked better in a waltz than him!
Tom needs to dance again.
Watching drew dance with Cheryl in comparison to drew dancing with Anna on the all star season is like watching the godfather and then the the godfather part three. When he was with Cheryl, he had fun and seemed happy above everything else. With Anna he didn’t have that spark in his eye or that pep in his step.
Lori please don’t stop! I love this!
Drew and Cheryl are so much fun to watch, though I do agree to whoever said that his Freestyle hasn’t stand the time well. If anyone made another list of Best Freestyles and his is still on the list I’d be rolling my eyes. That perhaps was innovative at the time, but I’ve seen way, way better and entertaining Freestyles. Drew wasn’t my winner (Stacey is just better) but at least it wasn’t Jerry freaking Rice out of people. Still can’t believe she ended up third while Jerry get second.
Can’t wait for S3!
I agree with Daniel, please don’t stop Lori, although I imagine right now you’re probably holiday busy. I didn’t watch the show for the first several seasons so I enjoy this retrospective but don’t have much to add in terms of discussion. Another thing is if I didn’t have twitter and follow the pure accounts I might not have seen these posts at all if I just clicked on the site and thought anything new would be placed on top, but I think when this series was posted both times it was fairly down into the site. I wonder if a lot of fans of the site perhaps didn’t even see it?
