Find Out What Dancing With The Stars Noah Galloway And Sharna Burgess Have Planned For Tonight – Video
Cameron Mathison interviewed Noah Galloway And Sharna Burgess. Here they are on Good Morning America talking about their journey and what they have in store for tonight for their Argentine Tango. #AwwwwwMoment GO GET EM, NOAH and SHARNA!!
ETA: Noah talked with People about using his new Prosthetic arm. It sounds like the time isn’t right just yet?
So when will he show off his new secret weapon? Soon, Galloway hints, but not during tonight’s performance of the Argentine tango.
“I don’t wear one in my daily life, so it hasn’t been necessary, because I have everything I need in my right arm,” he told PEOPLE. “Prosthetics take time to adapt to, and because this all happened so quickly, I wasn’t used to wearing an arm and didn’t have time to adapt to the new technology in time. We tried one out for this week but only had two days to practice with it, and decided I just need more time with it before I’m ready to use it in a dance.”
Eventually, Galloway – who is the new spokesmodel for the Kenneth Cole cologne Mankind – may work his new prosthetic arm into his daily activities. He told PEOPLE he owns three prosthetic legs – one of which he uses for running only.
“It hasn’t been anything I’ve thought about, having gone so long using one arm for my daily routine,” said Galloway. “I want to start using it more for different activities.”
Excellent!!! Thanks for this, Vogue! Go Team ShWay!! 🙂
YW! I hope he’s able to use the new arm tonight. *YOU CAN DO IT, NOAH*
Sharna is so positive. She is meeting the challenge with style and grace. This ia an amazing story.
I’m glad it seems he/they decided to forego using the arm for now.
Before the season started, from reading his Facebook, it seemed like he was being pressured into trying it by people who were being frame police, and saying he couldn’t do it without it. From watching their live stream, it looked just as good without it as it did with it, so I don’t think it’s a big deal he doesn’t for now. If he decides to use it for their next ballroom dance, that’s cool.
So are they not going to use the arm tonight, since he says he needs more time with it?
If so, I think that’s a good decision. He was getting quite frustrated the other during the live stream so I think it’s probably a wise choice to get used to it some more before busting it out on the dancefloor. When they were rehearsing without the arm, the dance still looked great and very Argentine Tango-esque. Whatever they chose to do tonight, I just hope it works out.
I still have a feeling he is going to do really well on this dance and boost his scores up! Maybe some 8’s even? Can’t wait for tonight!
I support what ever makes him feel the best. Quite honestly, he’s doing so well getting on with his life without that prosthetic arm, it’s the way he’s comfortable moving about with his body. I don’t mind if he never uses it. That bit we saw of their AT, awesome!
Thanks for this Vogue!
CC NY, I agree it’s a wise decision not to use the arm for tonight’s AT. There just wasn’t enough time to practice with it, and Noah’s frustration was so obvious in the livestream. I think it’s way more important for Noah to be relaxed and confident so he can just dance and give the right emotional intensity to his performance.
I think using the arm will be more important when they get into dances like the waltz and quickstep. That’s when the extra stability provided by the frame will really help. After all, the frame is not just for looks.
Cidra, there was a preseason interview with Noah and Sharna with his local newspaper where Sharna said that they aren’t making Noah do Quickstep or Jive because doing too many fast steps in a row causes confusion in the computer in his knee (causing it to give out) as well as pain in his residual limb.
That will probably cause a lot of cries of “unfairness” but no one does every dance, so whatever.
CM – if that’s the case and they are not making Noah do those two particular dances because of the possible danger/pain they can cause, well I say good for the producers and I’m glad they have enough sense to not try to force something that just shouldn’t happen. Noah being on the show at all is amazing – and nothing should detract from that. I have no doubt that Noah will do all that can – and if he COULD do those two dances, he would.
Anyone that cries foul over this really should examine their priorities. It’s a competition – but more than that, it’s a show about the human element, the journey, the entertainment, and Noah not being able to do two specific dances doesn’t detract from that one iota.
Agreed with everything you said, Fig. If people actually dare to call unfairness on this I will seriously question the human race. Who knows, though, this might never even come up and people won’t know. But still…
I’m perfectly fine with him not doing the Jive and Quickstep. There’s plenty other dances to choose from. I can see him doing a nice Waltz, a moving Contemporary, a romantic Rumba.
The one dance I wanna see that I have a feeling he would be great at is the Paso Doble. I don’t know if he would need the arm for that or not but I have a feeling that could be a really good dance for him.
I would love to see Noah do a Rumba. Two of his greatest strengths so far are his hip action and his connection with Sharna. That could end up so gorgeous.
Well, thank heaven TPTB are showing some sense. It’s been ages since everyone did the same dances. Now if they’re really smart (which is probably asking too much), they won’t make a big deal out of this decision. The less said the better about who’s *not* dancing what. If you draw attention to something, people will cry foul. If you just roll along, the vast majority of the audience will never notice. No need in exposing Noah to the stupidity of the small-minded. However, if there’s a concern about some perceived inequity, then that’s easily solved. Each couple gets to opt out of one dance style–no questions asked.
CM, I agree, Between his hip action and their dance chemistry, I think Noah and Sharna will do a beautiful Rumba.
I don’t care about what dances Noah & Sharna do or not do. Noah is in a league of his own. There are several reasons why I have a big heart for this man. He is a soldier hero 1st, a good daddy 2nd, and has a lot of stamina to overcome obstacles, and he just about the nicest gentleman in the world, and he praises and shows much respect towards Sharna, and his attitude is outstanding. I want his journey to be long. And, his girlfriend, Jamie, is one lucky lady. You can just feel the love they share between them.
You said it Kat!!!!!!!!!!!!
