PureDWTS Season 20, Week 5 – Disney Week Song Predictions 2.0

And Disney week is upon us once again 🙂 Since so many of us (myself included) are chomping at the bit to start speculating about what we might hear, I thought we’d resurrect the season 18 Disney week song prediction post to start the discussion!

First, a little bit of intel: allegedly, there have been some issues with song clearance, AGAIN – which is no surprise, considering there were clearance issues with some of the season 18 Disney week songs (“Be Our Guest” got approved in the nick of time; “Hakuna Matata”, however, did not) and Disney is notorious for closely guarding their copyrights.  Knowing that – I would not be at all surprised if some of the season 18 Disney week songs got reused.  Disappointing? Maybe. Avoidable? Doubt it.  Also, knowing this show’s penchant for reusing songs, I would not be surprised to see if some other Disney songs used before on other seasons of the show crop up again. So to start the predicting off, here’s a recap of the songs we saw during the last Disney week, and songs we’ve seen on the show before – then I’ll share my Disney week wishlist, and you guys can share yours 🙂 Read more..

Ultrasound sales specialist by day, semi-knowledgeable DWTS fan by night...with a smattering of hair & makeup enthusiast, occasional model, baker, and crazy cat lady peppered in to make things REALLY interesting ;-) I might pee my pants in happiness if Donnie Wahlberg ever does DWTS - or if they ever use "Sunglasses at Night" as a paso doble.

Dancing With The Stars Sharna Burgess And Noah Galloway – New Interviews

How about more with Noah Galloway today….this time with his partner Sharna Burgess and Access Hollywood (see below….so touching!!). They are also doing Extra with Mario Lopez at Universal Studios today. We’ll (hopefully) have some footage or photos of that interview later.

ETA: You can watch Sharna and Noah on Extra at this link.

He says the fans’ reactions have been incredible. “The support, especially from the veteran community, has been very positive,” said Galloway. “I get people all the time stopping me, talking about how inspiring I am, it means the world to me to hear those stories.”

Dancing With The Stars A “Whole Other Beast” For Robert Herjavec

In a new interview with Yahoo Health, Robert Herjavec says doing Dancing With The Stars is the hardest thing he’s ever done physically. In his first week alone, he lost five pounds.

The 51-year-old millionaire and CEO of the information security firm Herjavec Group has always been relatively fit, but over the last couple years, he’s amped up his exercise game — starting a dedicated running regimen (even running marathons) and incorporating weight training into his routine, which ultimately led to him losing about 25 pounds.

And now, he’s dancing, thanks to DWTS — which he says is a whole other beast. “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done physically,” Herjavec tells Yahoo Health. “People don’t realize what incredible athletes dancers are.”

In his first week alone of training, Herjavec lost five pounds. “I dance five to six hours a day, and I’m exhausted. It’s so much upper body stuff because of [maintaining] the frame and positioning,” he says. Now, “I have muscles in my shoulders and upper body that I’ve never seen before.”

Very cool. Lots more at Yahoo Health,.

Sneak Peek Of People Magazine DWTS 10th Anniversary Edition, How Noah Galloway Is Dancing Without Two Limbs

People posted a new article with Noah Galloway and how he is dancing without two limbs. It hasn’t been easy and he credits his partner Sharner Burgess for “adapting” to his injuries. Read on….

“Most people take it for granted,” Galloway told PEOPLE. “Before I was injured, I wouldn’t have thought about it either. I don’t take offense to that. Anytime that I brought it up to my friends that I don’t have a knee, it clicks with people, like, ‘Oh, that is different.’ But I also felt like that was an opportunity to put me on a larger platform to show how different is is for me. Every amputation is different. Where it is changes everything.”

The prosthetic leg that Galloway uses for DWTS does bend – but not in a way that makes dances like the jive or even the samba easy.

“When people lunge onto their legs, they can push back up. I can’t. If I lean into it, then I’m going down,” explains Galloway. “This prosthetic has a micro-processor that can add resistance as I’m bending that can slow me down. There’s just no coming back up. It just helps with how fast I am going to go to the floor – either really fast or I’m going to ease down to it.”

Galloway credits his partner Sharna Burgess for “adapting to my injuries.”

“The judges said the male leads with his left hand, and they were talking about how amazing it was how we put everything together, and that’s all Sharna. She designs the dances so I won’t have to lead with the left arm, but I am still leading the dance.”

“All I know about dancing is what Sharna has taught me. She is teaching me how to dance while missing an arm and a leg. It’s been amazing.”

For more with Noah, see People.

And speaking of People, be sure to pick up the 10th Anniversary Edition for what we reported to you a few weeks ago. It’s in stores everywhere now. JennKat at twitter wrote that it’s 98 pages and it has tons of pics. It also has a 2 page spread for each season and some nice pro interviews too. See her twitter page for more teasers including pictures if interested.
