Edyta Sliwinska Interviewed About “Dancing Pros Live”, Touring, And More

What a fun and interesting new interview with Dancing With The Stars Edyta Sliwinska and Roanoke.com. She talks of her favorite dances in her and Alec Mazo’s “Dancing Pros Live” show, the most difficult part of the tour, and what’s next for her and Alec when the tour ends at the of April (TPTB, if you read this, please ask them back for a performance for the Anniversary show!). You can read more below and at the link. For tickets and scheduling information for “Dancing Pros Live”, see this link. I promise….you won’t be sorry you missed it.

Q: What dances can we see on the show?

A little bit of everything. You’ll see ballroom, contemporary, swing, jitterbug, Charleston, African samba …

Q: What is the most difficult part of the tour?

Probably the traveling and staying in hotels. I’m traveling with a baby, too, and it’s just so exhausting. But you just keep going on because you want to bring the best show to the audience that you can possibly put on.

Q: Your husband has won a season of “Dancing with the Stars” and you’ve come in second — is there friendly competition there?

At the beginning there was. As ballroom dancers, you’re already pretty competitive — that’s why you get into ballroom dancing in the first place. But I would have to say that it’s healthy competition. One partner might be very good at choreography and the other could be very good at coming up with concepts, so they’re able to join forces and create something amazing because of that. Alec is very good at logistics whereas I’m very good with artistic vision. You balance each other out and encourage one another.

Q: What’s up next for you after the tour?

Alec and I will be producing a show for a casino in Canada. It’s a singing competition show with audience voting just like “Dancing Pros Live.” There will be very little dancing. There will be some to accompany duets or group numbers. But we’ll have singers from “The Voice,” “American Idol” and “America’s Got Talent.”

Q: What advice do you have for aspiring dancers?

If you really love it and you continue to really love it, then work hard and stick to it. Get out there and show your talent. Don’t limit yourself to one style of dancing. You can specialize in one type of dance but you should know all types of dances. Take all the classes you can. Don’t be afraid to branch out into acting and singing or other forms of talent.

DWTSRussia Quarterfinals: Watch Gleb Savchenko And Adelina Sotnikova Do A Hip Hop Dance – Photos, Video

AdelinaGlebSavchenko

Can you believe it’s the Quarterfinals for Dancing With The Stars Russia? Time flies when you are having fun!! SPECIAL NOTE for those planning to tune in: The time of the show might have been moved up 35 minutes, but, @NastineLi at twitter says it might start at the same time as always too. Whatever the case, know that the show will start at either 9:45am ET or 10:20am ET. As always, you can watch Dancing With The Stars Russia at Live Russia TV. If the LIVE stream doesn’t work, check my twitter page as I’ll be tweeting some streams that will work. Also, follow @Nastineli at twitter as she plans to translate the show for us (this is so so cool and makes the show that much more enjoyable!).

Lastly, now is the most important time to be VOTING for Gleb and Adelina if you can. If you are able to… “send a SMS with number 10 to 1075” to VOTE for their dance today. You can also vote for Gleb and Adelina to win a Fans Choice Trophy Award at this link online daily and all week until the end of the season. Anyone can vote including International voters. If you need directions, see this twitter link as Anastassija Lipkova has been so nice explaining it for us so well (note that number of votes in the 3rd line is just a figure. Ticking the 1st box is obligatory. The 2nd box is optional. Your votes go to a good cause as well.

With that all said, here’s to Gleb and Adelina and Dancing With The Stars Russia this week!!! They are dancing a Hip Hop dance and will be the first out of the shoot today. Be sending them and Elena Samodanova (who is judging) lots of love and good wishes! We’ll update this post with photo links and their new dance(s) as soon as we are able to. Thanks to Everyone following along! Sweet photo above courtesy of Gleb’s Instagram.

ETA: Below are Gleb and Adelina’s dances. They danced in the beautiful opening number and so gracefully at that. I love this music….

And below is their Hip Hop dance. They OWNED it out there with Alexey Balash. Check them out! “You can’t touch” it! It was jammed packed with energy and cool moves and tricks!! They scored a 45 with it….and ended up placing 1st this week and they made it to the Semi-Finals! WOO HOO! You can also see some stunning photos of them and the cast at DWTSRussia facebook. Let us know what you think in comments!!

ETA2: Just a little FYI from our Russia friend and translator @NastineLI. The opening number (seen above) was dedicated to Cosmonautics Day in Russia. You can read all about this Russian holiday at Wikipedia. Below is a take from the link. FASCINATING!! Thanks Annastassija!!

In 2011, April 12 was declared as the International Day of Human Space Flight in dedication of the first manned space flight made on April 12, 1961 by the 27-year-old Russian Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. Gagarin circled the Earth for 1 hour and 48 minutes aboard the Vostok 1 spacecraft.

The commemorative day was established in the Soviet Union one year later, on April 9, 1962. In modern Russia, it is celebrated in accordance with Article 1.1 of the Law “On the Days of Military Glory and the Commemorative Dates in Russia”.

Gagarin’s flight was a triumph for the Soviet space program, and opened a new era in the history of space exploration. Gagarin became a national hero of the Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc and a famous figure around the world. Major newspapers around the globe published his biography and details of his flight. Moscow and other cities in the USSR held mass demonstrations, the scale of which was second only to WWII Victory Parades. Gagarin was escorted in a long motorcade of high-ranking officials through the streets of Moscow to the Kremlin where, in a lavish ceremony, he was awarded the highest Soviet honour, the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, by the Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev.

Nowadays the commemoration ceremony on Cosmonautics Day starts in the city of Korolyov, near Gagarin’s statue. Participants then proceed under police escort to Red Square for a visit to Gagarin’s grave in the Kremlin Wall Necropolis, and continue to Cosmonauts Alley, near the Monument to the Conquerors of Space. Finally, the festivities are concluded with a visit to the Novodevichy Cemetery.

Dancing With The Stars judge Julianne Hough Attends Coachella 2015 – Photos

Dancing With The Stars judge Julianne Hough attended the Coachella 2015 yesterday in the polo fields of the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival. To see some beautiful photos of her having fun at the event, see The Daily Mail. I love the dress she wore and her hair. It’s just the right shade of pink and I love what the color represents. Go for it, Julianne. #KindnessCampaign
