Dancing with the Stars Season 20, Week FIVE – Let’s Discuss Tonight’s Show!! (Spoilers)

Theme of the week: Disney. Thanks to watching some media I’ve had that damn “Step in Time” in my head all day. Couldn’t shake it when Charlie was dancing to it, it’s no better now. Grrrr…..

So, Teams are picked tonight for Team Dances next week, I understand. The current cumulative scores are:

Nastia – 134
Rumer – 132
Riker – 131
Willow – 128

Something to keep in mind while watching is how the scoring will impact the cumulative and how that will, in turn, impact the team captains. If it all goes to hell, they can always switch from cumulative score to the top 2 scorers of the night. They seem to change it to fit their needs.

Great opening number!! Loved it! All of it. They even managed to squeeze Derek in.

Okay, so Robert is safe and Suzanne is in jeopardy. Suzanne is getting the “I’m quitting” edit – don’t know if it means anything.

Well, Suzanne was doing really well up until the dress malfunction. Bummer. Don’t know if her scores would have gone higher or not though.

Man, shady camera work on Kym and Robert. Geez. Producers will stop at nothing,

Oh boy, Robert was off time the whole time. I have a feeling we might see how strong his fanbase is soon.

More results….Chris and Witney in Jeopardy. Willow is safe, Patti is in jeopardy. By my count that’s already three couples in Jeopardy.

Wonder if Patti is bowing out. She has such a great spirit. Not much dancing, but such wonderful energy.

While I loved the dance, I forgot what style it was supposed to be. Mark’s production was fun, but the dance really god lost in all that. I think this was one step too far. There wasn’t a lot of fluidity. This one could have gone either way.

Chris, eh. That’s gotta hurt. Think Witney is still getting used to not having Alfonso.

Nastia, Rumer, Riker and Noah all safe. Not hard to figure out with four already in jeopardy.

Sharna did a great job with that dance. Obviously, he didn’t do as much as others, but impressive. And good on Sharna for the talking to she gave Noah.

And Sharna does look like a Disney Princess. 🙂

So, they tease the rest of the show saying they saved the best for last and showed Riker, Rumer and Nastia. Wonder who they’re going to have go last and then have the judges proclaim them the “best dance of the night”?? Rumer or Nastia?? Bets?

Holy cow – that was a good dance from Riker! And he is SO INTO being Captain Jack, ya gotta love it. 🙂

Hmmm….I think I would have given Riker another 10. It wasn’t perfect, but it was pretty damn good.

Oh boy, Rumer and Val are getting a really good edit. Or bad one, depending on your POV. But it sure doesn’t reflect what really happened.

WTF?? There was no Samba in that until the Samba roll. Best dance of the night? The fix is in for sure.

Wayyyyyy overscored.

Way to go Erin so she cuts off Val before he can get too pompous.

Deep throat was right – that was right out of a Disney Movie!!

OMG. Carrie Ann is going to dock them for poor lip syncing?? The fix is certainly all the way in. Rumer gets a 10 for a non-Samba. Nastia gets a 9 10 for poor lip syncing?? How the hell does anyone believe that Derek is favored on this show?? The two best dances of the night get seccond place and the non-samba that wasn’t even that well done gets first place?? Not at all rigged. Nope.

But Nastia is still in first place with cumulative score. 🙂 Of course, that probably means they’ll use the top scores of tonight and Rumer will be team 1. Sometimes I wonder why I continue to watch this extremely manipulated, over produced show.

Patti safe.

Suzanne eliminated.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

Willow Shields Blogs About Dancing With The Stars Week 5 And What A Challenge It’s Been

And how about a new Access Hollywood blog from Willow Shields before show time? She writes of what a challenge this week has been, her bonds with Noah Galloway and Patti Labelle, and more…

This week was a huge challenge! At this point in the competition I have literally started to lose track of what day of the week it is.

I think it’s Monday morning. Yes, definitely Monday because I just got an email from the producer saying that tonight is the live show!

Yeah, when I first started the competition I thought it was pretty silly that the producer of the show would email me on the morning of the show reminding me that I have to perform tonight. But now…. going into the fifth dance I know exactly why they send this email, because the producer is trying to avoid calling me when I’m hanging out at some random place in Hollywood yelling “Where are you? You’re on in 5 minutes!” Oh and here’s my reoccurring nightmare that I’m having, it goes something like this… I’m dancing with Maddie Ziegler on “Dance Moms” and Abby Lee Miller is yelling at me “Are you crying? No tears. Save those tears for your pillow…and by the way your dreaming, and dreaming in the wrong show…you have 5 minutes until you go live on Dancing with the Stars!”

Who needs an iPhone alarm when you can just wake up in a cold sweat every morning to this.

Yeah, sometimes I’m pretty close to tears. I’m tired, my brain feels like it may explode or implode, not really sure. But…. thanks to some of the dancers I’m around I manage to keep it together. Two of the dancers I’m talking about are Patti LaBelle and Noah Galloway.

Nastia Liukin Can’t Wait To Be A Princess Tonight On Dancing With The Stars

Copied and pasted from Pure Derek Hough where you can read more on this pairing:

Nastia has written her new blog at the Huffington Post. She’s excited to be a Princess tonight. Here is more….

I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but tonight is Disney Week on Dancing with The Stars – does it get better than that?! I doubt that I am any different than other girls in that I have always dreamed of playing a princess – and tonight I will get to do that! And not just any princess, I get to pretend I’m one of the most famous princesses around – Anna from Frozen – no pressure at all!

This week has been so much fun for Derek and I…we actually have to get into the characters for our routine to “Love is an Open Door,” which we decided to make a jazz dance. I think it’s a dance that the audience can really get into and hopefully we will do the characters justice! Really losing ourselves in the storyline of the movie has been one of our main focuses for this week.

Speaking of this week, it was another crazy one! Derek and I just had basically three days to perfect our routine because I had to leave New York on Thursday night for an appearance in Chicago on Friday.

Is Suzanne Somers Going To Quit Dancing With The Stars?

Oh no, I hope she’s going to hang in there. Here is more from E Online. Video below too….

We have your exclusive sneak peek at Three’s Company star Suzanne Somers’ rehearsal session with her professional partner Tony Dovolani, one that gets so intense and frustrating that Somers ends up saying, “I don’t think I can stay with the show.”

Whoa.

So why is Suzanne thinking about quitting the show? And what is Tony’s reaction when his star reveals she might not be cut out for the competition? Press play on our exclusive sneak peek above to find out.

Here’s hoping Suzanne is able rally and continue on in the competition as tonight’s theme is the fan-favorite Disney Night, where each of the remaining celeb contestants dance to the songs from Walt Disney Animination Studios Films. Suzanne and Tony’s? “He’s a Tramp” from Lady and the Tramp!
