Dancing with the Stars Season 20, Week SEVEN – Who’s Dancing What…and When?

The week of the dreaded double elimination. So twoone couple gets to dance their little hearts out only to be voted off the island. Oh, wait.

Anyway, here’s what we know so far.

ETA: Along with the couples having their regular dances, they will also have to prepare three immunity dances for next week according to E Online’s interview with Sharna. She and Noah also have a Jazz for next week. ~Vogue

ETA2: Below are the rest of the dances in red. To read more dance and entertainment for Week 7, see the ABC Press Release.

ETA3: Thanks to the internets, we THINK we know two of the songs. Nathan says Rumer’s was confirmed on twitter although I sure can’t find it. But then again, I’m sick so I’m not up to full power. As for Nastia, she retweeted Andy Grammer when he said he was performing and said “We can’t wait” or some such thing, which I took as a tentative confirmation.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

Dancing with the Stars Season 20, Week SIX – Let’s Discuss Tonight’s Show!! (Spoilers)

Theme of the week (I’m so sick of themes) – Spring Break. This has the potential to be one of the stupidest themes ever done on this show….or maybe the most brilliant. I’m leaning toward the former. 🙂

Everyone better vote tonight – the Bergeron says there is still a double elimination next week and we’re getting down to brass tacks.

The Bergeron also says there is only 0.5% difference in votes between the bottom two. Now, this is interesting phrasing, mainly because it tells you exactly nothing. Because from the way it’s phrased, it’s votes only, not taking into account the judges scores. Now, if the bottom two are Chris and Patti – so what? They only needed one vote to begin with so that 0.5% is meaningless. Conversely, if it’s Chris and Robert, then Robert is automatically screwed because a half percent difference in the votes isn’t going to catch him up to Chris, and if Chris was the one who was higher it’s all over. But still, the 0.5% in this context is meaningless. Actually, thinking about it, even if he had said 0.5% and left it at that, it would still be meaningless.

Hmmmm….a little kind to Patti I think, but not unusual.

Nastia going second?? Um. Okay. Oooooo….love those costumes. Dance was kinda weird. I like their attitude of just laughing at the judges. 🙂

Don’t believe that was a 34 dance – really, picking on content and technique when Rumer is dancing?

Willow is so cute….but she seemed very 14 in this dance. Good job though.

Someone fix Julianne’s mic – it’s driving me crazy.

Come on, Erin, she’s 14!!! She watches TV on Spring break. Tie with Nastia. Coincidence?? Very curious to see how the teams shake out…

Robert got a tiny bit hosed as well. I’m sensing a TEAMYolo Theme.

I guess this means that Team YOLO is going first in the team dance as well. The pimpage is high, young Skywalker.

Liked Noah’s dance, but a point ahead of Robert? I dunno about that.

A hell, I’m honestly kinda bored.

How does one make Bootylicious boring and kinda dark?? Val can.

Gee, Julianne, Val and Maks have been choreographing lots of walking for years now and you’re just now noticing??

Wow, if Len actually gives her the Derek score I’ll be shocked.

Oh Val shut up. Blame it on the song. That’ll help.

This is what I was talking about in the comments several days ago. Pavlov’s dog. Over praised for weeks then doing nothing much different and the hamnmer drops…and they blame the song, etc.

Oh fer god’s sake, give it a rest on Derek’s “streak” – and it ain’t a streak at this point. It’s the NORM.

Meant to add, Rumer’s 7 was uncalled for. I didn’t care for the dance, but I don’t think it was a 7.

Hell, Chris pulled out a good dance….and the package was cute too!

Riker is in it to win it!! Very good dance and I liked the Choreo too!!

Nastia must be doing well in votes, cuz as great as Riker was, he wasn’t that many points more great…um, if that made sense. 🙂

Results…Team Yolo….Nastia and Derek are SAFE

Willow and Mark are SAFE

Noah and Robert in Jeopardy

Rumer and Val are SAFE

Chris is SAFE (crap)

Patti and Riker are in jeopardy.

LOL to Noah playing the shark attack.

Serious revisionist history on their package but the dance was great!! So fun, so cute, so tight! There was not a weak link in the bunch.

First appropriate score of the night, IMO.

Who else thinks it would be more fun and less ONE NOTE if Rumer was the nerd and not the greaser?? I mean really, they’re pulling the whole team into the darkness.

If there is a perfect score with Patti and Chris on their team, this show is dead to me.

Okay, that one was also very good – Miss Patti made it for me.

I’ll actually take a tie on that one. Loved both of them. Do think that Rumer is just cementing her one notedness, but that will be her problem down the road.

Next couple safe – Noah and Sharna

Also safe Riker and Allison.

And Miss Patti is eliminated. Robert is SAFE!!

Willow Shields Writes On Mark Ballas And Storytelling In New DWTS Blog

I love Willow Shields and this new blog from Access Hollywood makes me love her even more for how she dedicated it to Mark Ballas and her love for storytelling.

But when Bruno mentioned expressing through dance as I would with words, I was instantly excited! Stories and more stories! I have spent my life loving them. From those early years reading with my family, to finally being able to do it on my own, first with little chapter books and then eventually my Harry Potter years (which, let’s face it, have never ended), stories have been huge for me. Then one day, when I was 10, I was cast as Prim in “The Hunger Games” series. How often are you able to become a PART of a story you love so much? To bring those words to life.

Which brings me to another great storyteller: Mark Ballas.

As a partner he is supportive and patient, but tough on me. He works very hard and expects me to do the same. But as a storyteller on “Dancing with the Stars,” there is no one better.

When we are given a new dance each week, he is immediately engaged in the choreography, the music and the costumes. But, he uses all these things to tell such amazing stories! You can’t help but want to be a part in sharing them with the “Dancing with the Stars” viewers.

So whether it is in a book, a piece of art, or in a dance, stories are everywhere. I’m just very grateful to get to be a part of some of them.
