The thing I don’t understand: why is everybody so crazy about Rumer, since week one?? Yes, she one of the best dancers in the competition but not the best IMO, she hasn’t had the highest overall scores, she’s not the best technical dancer, she hasn’t had the best nor the most memorable routines…
She’s a very good performer, but she IS a performer/actress, that’s what she does for a living so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody. She has very unique looks that make you look at her and notice her when she’s on stage, she has the confidence and a great body, and she’s paired with Val, who’s one of the most popular pros, and, obviously, her parents are Bruce and Demi, which creates a lot of interest and media attention… but beyond that, I don’t know…
Why is she a sure shot for everybody, certain to make the finals, always the first name that everybody brings up this season, but the other spots are “up for grabs”?
Riker has been so much more exciting to me to watch, as well as Willow and Nastia, with much more memorable routines, but people always seem lukewarm towards them. Why is that?
Corky’ support for Derek has certainly dwindled. He only tweets about Mark, while Shirley always posts support for both Mark & Derek.
#Maina I don’t understand the same thing you don’t understand. I still find it hard to believe that Len said to Val, on the first show, that it might be his season. I was also surprised to Hear Corky say Rumer was the only sure thing. Based on what? In my mind they’ve sort of stagnated where they began. What kind of journey is that? I’ll be curious to see how Rumer handles the jive. It’s not exactly in her wheelhouse.
Shirley raved about Rumer/Val also. I have no clue how things work on shows.
Is it possible Val is thinking about leaving if he doesn’t win? Would the producers even care. Is he that important to the show to keep him? Do the pros and every one else like Val so much or feel sorry for him so much that they pimp Rumer? I don’t get it either. I guess Rumer is nice enough and can dance, but they don’t have the spark that some of the other dancers do. I’m not trying to be funny. I really want to know, too.
Just wanted to add that I enjoy Darvina’s interviews. She’s very upbeat and cute.
I think it would be unreasonable to expect a guy to support Derek as much or more than Mark when Derek has 5 MBTs and an Emmy.
Not to stick up for Corky, but he may see the same writing on the wall that a lot of us do and that is that TPTB will do whatever they can to make sure that Rumer makes it to the final.
I also wouldn’t expect that Corky would support Derek as much or more than Mark, because although he was/is a father figure to Derek, Mark is actually his son by blood and Derek has more awards. I think Corky tried to keep his comments as neutral as possible, but I did get the feeling he has different opinions on certain things little the judging for one.
I think he was on afterbuzz last season and he didn’t hold back at all!
