PureDWTS Season 20 Week 8: Scores, Media, And New Interviews
Wow, what a great night of dances. They all stepped it up a notch. It’s going to be sad to watch two couples go home tonight. I don’t even want to think about it. đ So, let’s get the scores first….
Rumer Willis & Valentin Chmerkovskiy – 80 (40/40)
Riker Lynch & Allison Holker – 78 (39/39)
Nastia Liukin & Derek Hough – 76 (36/40)
Chris Soules & Witney Carson – 64 (34/30)
Noah Galloway & Sharna Burgess – 63 (31/32)
Robert Herjavec & Kym Johnson – 62 (33/29)
Ok, onto some new media and interviews. If you go to ABC7, the Daily Mail here and here, and ET Online, you can view some beautiful photos.
For interviews, first go to E Online (I’d embed all the new interviews, but, it messes up the site). Maria Menounos interviews the couples. I wish she’d interview them more often. She does a great job.
Glamour interviewed the couples as well and they have cute pictures to see at this link. Some of the couples also talked with Fox11. I liked this part with Derek and Nastia where Derek talks on his dancing last night. (eta: she just added her elimination predictions too which I couldn’t disagree more with)
With her partner Derek Hough still injured, Liukin danced with Sasha Farber for the second straight weekâbut Hough made cameo appearances in the two routines, doing what he could.
Hough, who suffered a broken toe and sprained ankle two weeks ago, told reporters after the show, âI canât dance really. If you watch, I wasnât really dancing. I was just stepping gingerly while she did amazing stuff.â
Hough told FOX411 he wasnât sure whenâor ifâheâll be able to be Liukinâs full-time partner again.
âMy heart is like, âCome back tomorrow, letâs go!â But I gotta be smart ⌠I donât want to inhibit her performance if I have to dance gently and timidly.â
Liukin was shown snapping at Hough in rehearsal footage, but she explained backstage the moment was overblown on TV: âAll week we have been giggling and laughing ⌠the last five minutes, I was exhausted.â
For lots more with Derek and Nastia, see Pure Derek Hough.
And here are some new interview with Afterbuzz TV. Be sure to send JC Rubio some love at twitter for doing such a good job again…
POPTVDotCom:
Keep checking back as we add more soon….
ETA: Here is Diva Darv with a new interview with Keo before the show last night….
ETA2: Melissa Rycroft reviewed the night on GMA. She thinks Robert and Riker might be leaving tonight (no way…I don’t think it will be Riker. I will cry if that happens)
ETA3: Robert has blogged about this week’s dances which he is proud of. He’s hoping he won’t be eliminated tonight. You can read his new blog at Entertainment Weekly.
ETA4: You can read Sharna’s new blog at Closer Weekly. Despite a challenging week, she thought Noah killed it last night and is hoping they make it the semi-finals.
And here is more from Afterbuzz TV with JC Rubio….
ETA5: If you go to Extra, you can listen to some new interviews with the couples.
WOw the Willis PR machine is in full swing.
I think next week each of the judges will have one couple each to mentor them through a dance each. So that could be why there is 4 in the Semi Final not in the final. That also could explain why the couples dont know their dances as it could be picked by the judge themself
Rumer has Argentine Tango, I smell a 40 already….if it’s a done deal, all I want is Val’s choreo to match that 40, like he did with Meryl. I just haven’t liked his work very much this season. It’s a shame because Rumer is much more likeable than many of his past partners.
Hope the judges don’t screw over Nastia and Riker on their picks for them…..
I agree Ananya and it’s making me sick. I just noticed Glamour added more and she thinks Riker and Nastia will be eliminated. She’s nuts. I’m regretting posting anything from that site again now. uggh
Vogue, both Nastia and Riker are ahead of Rumer in cumulative judges’ score. So how has she been the front runner all season? These so called journalists just write up what PR people tell them. It’s pathetic to try and bring down Riker and Nastia to prop up Rumer. If she’s so good, let her earn it.
Jessica doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She’s a shipper for one thing. She completely misses the fact that it doesn’t matter if the votes are “close” if the scores AREN’T. She’s rather dim, IMO.
+1 Ananya!! Ya know…if she ends up being right, I will totally totally totally be disgusted with this show….more than ever. Seriously.
You said it, Miss Heidi!! She’s dreaming!
Every body knows Robert and Chris should go home tonight. I feel like there is gonna be one surprising elimination, Nastia and Riker should be safe.I honestly think Rumer might be in danger of leaving, i don’t think she’s getting all the votes people think she is getting. Im just tired of all the pimping Val gets, this season they are setting him up to win but thats not gonna happen. And has anybody realized that Rumer and Val get all this free promo?
Yeah I read the glamour recap and I really hope she is wrong, she is only certain Rumer is in the semis and the rest of her logic is nonesense.
I think they are definitely trying to squeeze Rumer in, people don’t realize that the gymnastics fandom is huge I don’t think Nastia is really in danger (even thought that CAI comment “I hope you miss the double elim tomorrow” got me thinking)
I think Noah is not going anywhere yet.
I don’t understand the judging on Robert and Chris, why would they be overscoring Chris at this point of the competition…Im confused.
Should be Robert and Chris eliminated tomorrow, If Riker really was in danger the past weeks and Rumer and Chris got the votes and help they needed could be Robert and Riker. That will create the media buzz DWTS likes, but they will likely lose a lot of viewers w the youngsters that tune in for Riker
Im gonna go back to last PH numbers post
Journalistically-speaking, Jessica Radloff is the equivalent of a 13-year-old shrieking and gossiping into a webcam – she was one of the few that actually thought Maksyl was a real thing. I give her opinions as much weight as I do the opinions of my coworker’s 1-year-old son that is currently cutting 5 teeth and communicates solely through a series of shrieks and grunts…and the occasional bite.
“…shrieks and gruntsâŚand the occasional bite …” Sounds like Carrie Ann’s doppelganger.
@Suzy – My coworker’s son at least manages to stay in his chair, though đ
I never take a friggen thing Jessica Radloff says seriously. She’s got no journalistic integrity as far as I can tell, and writes her column as “fact” instead of “wishful thinking” or “gossip” or “PR-fed bullcrap”.
I wonder, Court – do you think Jessica bought into it, or she was part of the PR machine? I have never seen her talk, so maybe she really is that dense. But a part of me has thought she’s just regurgitating all the rubbish that not many other reputable (I use the term loosely) gossip/blogger might put out there.
