DWTS 21: People Confirms Peta Murgatroyd “Out For the Season”

Damn…this was one partnership I was really looking forward to 🙁 According to People, Peta has indeed decided to sit this season out after finding out she will require surgery on her ankle that will “sideline her for 6-8 weeks”:

Having just come off a three-month, live DWTS tour, Murgatroyd “felt great” heading into rehearsals with her season 21 partner, Andy Grammer. But one day, after putting on her heels, she says she could tell “something was not right.”

“I wanted to check it out properly and make sure I was good to go for the season,” says the pro dancer, 29. “I Got my MRI results back and it was a really bad diagnosis. It showed I had 4 torn ligaments and a floating piece of bone at the back of my ankle. My doctor said I needed surgery and I knew I needed to put my health first if I want to keep dancing on the show into my 30s.”

I gotta applaud Peta for having the strength to say “I need to rest” – I’ve known too many dancers that have tried to soldier through some injuries, only to end up even more injured…and a few times, with their dance careers ended as a result. Read more..

Ultrasound sales specialist by day, semi-knowledgeable DWTS fan by night...with a smattering of hair & makeup enthusiast, occasional model, baker, and crazy cat lady peppered in to make things REALLY interesting ;-) I might pee my pants in happiness if Donnie Wahlberg ever does DWTS - or if they ever use "Sunglasses at Night" as a paso doble.

Mark Ballas Talks About The New Season of Dancing With The Stars, SELFtember, And More

OK! Magazine chatted with Mark Ballas about the new season of Dancing With The Stars. They also talked on SELFtember, Julianne Hough’s wedding, and more. Here is a take from the link about Dancing With The Stars…

OKMagazine.com: Bindi Irwin is one of the celebrities to be confirmed this season. Are you excited to dance with her/compete against her?

MB: I was a massive fan of her father. I think she’s going to be incredible. Her energy is beautiful. I think whomever she ends up with it’ll be a really great partnership for her. I hope at some point she can take us out to meet some of the animals because I’m a huge animal lover!

OKMagazine.com: If you could pick any celebrity to be your partner this season, who would it be?

MB: I usually say Shakira. Ellie Goulding I think she would do really well too. And Jennifer Aniston!

OKMagazine.com: Your co-star Julianne Hough just got engaged to Brooks Laich! What do you think about her engagement?

MB: I’m very happy for her! I’ve seen them interact with each other a little bit, being very much in love. I wish them a very happy and prosperous engagement and marriage.

Official: Andy Grammer To Dance On Dancing With The Stars Season 21

We’re awaiting an official announcement of Andy Grammer to dance on Dancing With The Stars Season 21. Stay tuned.

ETA: Thanks to @Idolxgactor1, here is Andy on KIIS.FM…

ETA2: Awww, I’m loving this instagram by Andy and what he wrote….

When I performed 'Honey, I'm Good' on @dancingabc last season, it was obviously exciting and a thrill, but there was something extra and deeper about being there. Anyone who knew my mother, knows she LOVED dance. Anytime it came on the TV her eyes would light up and would get lost in the screen. I remember countless times sitting with her and listening to her say, "My one regret in life is that I wish I had been a dancer." If you have lost someone close in your life, you know that it can be tough to stay/feel connected to those who pass on. Maybe you hear a song and it reminds you of them, or every time you eat a certain dish you feel their presence somehow. These things become really important in ways others might not understand. All I can say is that when I went in to do a rehearsal for DWTS last season, I was overcome with emotion and just barely kept my shit together. She would have completely lost her mind to sit front row at Dancing With The Stars and I could feel that in my chest loud and clear. So this one is for you mom. I don't know how to dance, but I'm pretty sure that wherever you are it's going to make you very happy to see me try. I miss you, I love you, and I will be stretching my hammies to make you proud. Game on. #DWTS
