The Dancing Poetry Corner – A Television Show -Stopper

I am a self-admitted TV junkie. I have always loved TV shows! Some of my favorites were featured – I Dream of Jeannie, Gilligan’s Island, The Golden Girls! Shows of that time period were simply fun, sometimes silly fun! We had to laugh! We were entertained! They were the best! How fun was it to see Gary Busey as Gomez! The Addam’s Family was perfect for him and Anna to portray! My late-hubby and I loved that show and The Munsters! So all together spooky, mysterious, and ooky! American Bandstand was a staple of our youth! A Saturday treat that was Must-See TV! A Dick Clark extravaganza!

It was so fun to have The Muppets in the Dancing With the Stars Ballroom House! To integrate Miss Piggy as co-hostess, Kermit and friends running the show in the Control Room was simply amazingly fun! Miss Piggy was being flirtatious with Derek Hough! Swoon!

The Troupe bumpers are always a super addition to the show! Eliminated pros also participate. How inventive was the Smash-Up bumper with Artem, Emma and Val! There is no limit to the creative genius coming out of the minds of everyone associated with the show. The opening number with the lady pros was a kaleidoscope of colors! A dazzling display of a light show plus the brilliance of those dynamite ladies! They shook it up to kick off the night! Dancing With The Stars is a treasure trove of talent to burn! The show is blessed to Read more..

Carrie Ann Inaba and Julianne Hough Write On DWTS Season 21 Week 3 By Lori

AH, DWTS! That show we know and love and occasionally strongly dislike. What would we ever do without its constant need to create as much drama as possible? Sometimes I think that we should have a running tally of all of the…. Crud… that they make us wade through and revisit during the down time after the season is over. I’m not sure how to find the humor in some of it, however.

This week’s biggest manufactured dramas is still ongoing, and has BY FAR surpassed the rest of the manufactured drama from those silly scripted packages (but at least trying to get the gullible public into thinking Alek is interested in Lindsay’s other childhood best friend keeps the public’s eyes off the real budding romance. Need to find some silver lining in the whole thing. Afterall, they owe them that much, especially after what they did last season). Yes, Kim’s stroke. Yes, I do believe that her leaving the show is the BEST thing for her and for her family. How TPTB went about it was wrong, and in my opinion, only meant to create the drama we now have. It’s creating some free publicity for the show, and they only had to COMPLETELY BLINDSIDE one of their pros and a celebrity they knew could quickly and easily create the buzz they want! Don’t make Tom be the bad guy, do the dirty work yourselves!

Carrie Ann addresses it quickly in her Parade blog by saying:

Last night’s sudden elimination of Kim Zolciak Biermann was a shocker. It was the first time in 21 seasons of Dancing with the Stars that anyone had to be dismissed from the competition due to her inability to perform. Kim was unable to dance last night after suffering a mini stroke last week while traveling. I wish her a speedy recovery and hope that she now has the time to take good care of herself. This was a first for DWTS. In past seasons, Dorothy Hamill, Jewel and Nancy O’Dell dropped out of the competition due to injuries, but they did so willingly. Jewel and Nancy O’Dell dropped out right before the season started back in 2009. And Dorothy Hamill pulled out of the competition mid-season due to a serious back injury in 2013. Injuries are a scary part of the territory of being on DWTS. A stroke is a whole different thing. And it’s very serious. So take care Kim, we are all rooting for you!

Hmmm… I don’t know what to think about what she says. What are your thoughts?

Carrie Ann’s highlight dances were Nick and Sharna’s, Alexa and Mark’s, Tamar and Val’s, Alek and Lindsay’s and Bindi and Derek’s. And she spends some time to give advice to the rest of the group, so go over there to check out what she has to say.

And Julianne’s weekly fashion blog over at InStyle has been posted with some behind the scenes. And surprisingly enough, SHE did her own make up on Monday! And I loved it, she did a great job! And yellow is definitely a great color on her.

I want to end this on a happy note, so if you want a good case of AWWWW and possibly some melted insides, check out this recent post from Washington Post sports page, they interviewed Julianne’s fiance, Brooks Laich.

Also, who wore it better this week: Julianne or Carrie Ann?

Kim Zolciak Starts Online Petition To Bring Back Her And Tony Dovolani To Dancing With The Stars

Is Kim Zolciak for real? She started an online petition at her instagram (see below) to bring her and Tony Dovolani back to Dancing With The Stars. Not only that, according to E Online, she’s already got 13,000 signatures in only one day. Let us know what you think.

ETA: Carrie Ann Inaba spoke about this subject at the Peta party last night. Here is what she told Entertainment Tonight:

“I feel bad for her but those are the rules, and you know, I am a strong abider by the rules,” Inaba told ET at PETA’s 35th anniversary event in Hollywood, California on Wednesday.

“I am the Lift Police so the rules are important to me,” Inaba continued. “I feel badly for her, but it would be unfair to the other competitors.”

Despite Zolciak’s best efforts — the reality star has been petitioning for her and Dovolani to be reinstated in the competition — there is no chance she can return as a competitor this season.

“No, there’s no way she can come back,” Inaba said.

“But I think it’s good — not good in that way — but good in that now she can spend time with her family,” the DWTS judge added. “Dancing With the Stars is very grueling, and that’s a serious thing to have a mini-stroke. I want her to take good care of herself. We wish you well Kim.”

My thoughts: Come back next season! This season….No!! A rule is a rule! It’s more important to take care of her health. Besides I’m not sure she should have lasted very much longer on the show anyway?

Court: As far as I know, no invitation was extended to Dorothy Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Misty May-Treanor, Sara Evans, or any other contestant in the history of DWTS to return to their respective seasons after having to withdraw due to illness or other reasons. Why does Kim suddenly think she’s VIP and can just say “let me back in”? And does she honestly think it’s fair to the other celebs this season that have actually had to WORK to stay in the competition week after week? It’s as if she’s saying “You’ve done great in my absence, Bindi, Alek, Nick, Alexa, Carlos, etc. But I’m just gonna mosey on back into the competition and act as if I’ve worked every bit as hard as you guys have to stick around and survive the elims in order to get to this point. Yay me!” I don’t care that she lives in Atlanta – that’s her problem.  And I don’t think she should get the special treatment of being allowed to compete from Atlanta, and the fuss of having to send a production crew down there to do her hair, makeup, set up lighting, sound, cameras, etc. Everyone is going through their own struggles this season – Andy is exhausted from traveling, Paula is just old and tired, Bindi’s ankle is hurting, yadda yadda yadda.  And I don’t hear any of them asking for special treatment. The air of entitlement that I’m picking up from her in starting this petition is beyond off-putting – to the point where I’m glad she’s gone, even though I was beginning to warm to her as a dancer.  And it also makes me question whether she’s taking this health scare seriously – even if her doctor DID clear her to fly, you’d think that a previously-undiscovered heart problem and a stroke that could have been a lot more devastating would have been a bit of a wake-up call to Kim to slow down and take care of herself. I feel like that gravity of the situation is rather lost on her. Girl, stay in Atlanta, take it easy, enjoy your time with your family, let go of this idea of coming back, and we’ll see you in several weeks for the finale.  It’s not like production is really gonna listen to this nonsense, anyway.

Heidi: Yeah, gotta agree with Courtney on this one and add something else….does it not occur to her that she very well could have been the one eliminated anyway on Monday night?? It is plausible after all (and really, the way they went about the show, it really occurred to me that she was the bottom anyway). And she’s not going to win this season – not even close – so why is it so important to her to come back?? Why is she willing to risk her health for a dance competition? Is the gravity of the situation really lost on her, or was it really not as serious as it was made to sound? Sorry, girl – but your deep desire to get back on the show is making me question every aspect of this situation. Another note, to the crazy-assed fans on twitter who are complaining that “Derek was allowed to come back so why can’t Kim?” Are you REALLY this stupid? Seriously? Derek is a pro dancer and is, theoretically, easily switched out with another pro dancer. He’s not the celeb who signed a celeb contract – although I can certainly understand how it seems like he’s the celeb at times. 😀 Since he’s more famous than some of the celebs on the show and all. Get real, people – this complaint is making you look just plain dumb.

Louis Van Amstel’s Goal For Paula Deen Each Week On Dancing With The Stars

Entertainment Tonight interviewed Paula Deen and Louis Van Amstel last night after they danced on Dancing With The Stars. I loved this part of the interview. So sweet…

“I want Paula to improve each week, that she walks out of this show stronger and happier, and not having to put on a face for any reason other than just being truly happy,” Louis said. “I love you, Paula Deen.”

Sharna Burgess Writes On Last Night’s Dance On Dancing With The Stars, WhipClips

What a beautiful new blog by Sharna Burgess. She writes of how special last night’s dance was for her and why. Below is more from Hollywood Life. It’s funny. I wrote in Courtney’s rankings how her and Nick’s dance was like an epic movie.

What an amazing night! Though it didn’t start out that way…this week was a really intense week for us. We didn’t get our music cleared ’til late on Thursday so I wasn’t able to teach Nick the routine until Friday. So considering all of the stress and losing two days and many hours of rehearsal, and also Nick’s frustration and the pressure that he puts on himself, I feel like he performed the Viennese Waltz beautifully.

We shared such a wonderful moment tonight where we really embodied the characters of Downton Abbey’s Matthew Crawley and Lady Mary, and for a moment, it felt like we were in a movie scene — not on the ‘Dancing With The Stars’ floor, not competing for a mirror ball trophy, but sharing this moment in time of playing these characters and having so much fun with it.

Honestly that’s truly what dance is for me — being able to step outside myself and who I am, and doing something completely different. Nick did just that as well and really was my true dance partner tonight; he was not my celebrity partner, and he wasn’t someone that I’m training for a competition. He became someone that was like my equal, and it felt awesome on the dance floor to enjoy that experience with him.
