Strictly Come Dancing Week 10 With Gleb Savchenko, Anita Rani, & More: Videos, Rank Dances, Review The Show
It’s Week 10 of Strictly Come Dancing! My how times flies when you are having fun, doesn’t it?!!! I’m sure going to miss Tristan and Jamelia and the fun and light they brought to the show every week.
So, this week, Anita and Gleb will perform a Rumba to ‘Read All About It’ by Emeli Sande. They teased on their Rumba in their new “It Take Two” appearance at the end of this video. I love how Anita is embracing it as a “woman”. She says it’s full of content from Gleb. They talk on him as a teacher too. Good stuff…
As for what everyone else is dancing, Mr A listed them all in the comments of the previous SCD post. The couples also have a Quickstep-a-thon! As always, let us know on all of your thoughts in comments. Who did you like the best and who will be in the dance off and go home? Feel free to rank them if you like too. Lastly and more importantly, BE SURE TO VOTE right after the show! Also, don’t miss the Elimination show on Sunday as Adam Lambert is performing and there will also be another pro number.

ETA: Sorry for my lateness. My life continues to be crazy right now with everything going on. Anyway, below are some videos from Strictly Come Dancing today!! I haven’t watched all the dances yet, but, will soon and join you in comments. Thanks to Andrea for her awesome recordings….
More at the Official site!! Be sure to let us know what you think if you haven’t yet!
ETA2: What a great results show. Adam Lambert and the pro numbers were just stunning. Thank goodness Gleb and Anita were called safe. Kellie & Kevin and Peter & Jeanette were in the dance off. Peter & Jeanette were eliminated. Did the right pair go home? I think so. Let us know your thoughts in comments. Videos on the night coming soon!!!
ETA3: And some videos from the Results show. THANKS ANDREA for all of your hard work!xx
Not gonna lie, last week and the whole Jamelia controversy left a bad taste in my mouth. Avoiding the actual controversy of the dance-off, she didn’t really get many breaks. Clearly, 2nd, 3rd and 2nd in running order over the last 3 weeks is pretty cruel (not much worse than Jay’s positions recently but considering the circumstances much more damaging.) Speaking of Jay, for both of the last 2 weeks she had to follow him and the week before she followed Peter’s Charleston. Just a bit difficult to make a big impression in those circumstances. She’s also not had the best dances to showcase herself. The one thing even her “haters” would say of her is that Jamelia has a very big personality, and the best dances to showcase that would probably have been Paso Doble and Tango. I would have particularly loved to see them do a Paso, but they got stuck with a lot of ballroom, which she showed definite improvement in but it was never her forte. Finally, I think their songs have sucked recently, either dated, predictable or boring. Then again, her third dance-off was her Jive to Time Warp, one of the best songs of the night and which was danced in a slightly later position towards midshow, and it still wasn’t enough, so maybe there was no saving her. They could have tried a little harder.
On more positive matters, tonight’s show promises to be great. Especially looking forward to Jay and Anita’s dances, and while Helen rarely thrils me I think she should do a good job tonight. Frankly, I rather suspect she has to to avoid the dance-off. Anton’s first Argentine Tango should be….interesting.
Here’s for week 10! You hit it right on the head, Vogue, time really does fly when you’re enjoying it. And despite everything, I’ve enjoyed this series just as much as the previous ones. And this series had seven front-runners that had legitimate chance to win, which makes even more exciting!
Another thing that makes me excited to enter the week 10 gate onward is that maybe we’ll finally see a perfect 40 or at least Craig’s first 10, although it is very rare that Craig gave a 10 but the total score isn’t 40. I have no objection for the perfect score to be released, of course, just as long as the dancing actually came close to deserving it.
Oh, and while we’re on it, these were the first perfect scores given to each series so far:
Series 1: None (Highest score: Natasha Kaplinsky’s Samba – 37)
Series 2: Jill Halfpenny’s Holy Jive (finale)
Series 3: None (Highest score: Colin Jackson’s Quickstep – 39)
Series 4: Mark Ramprakash’s Salsa (finale)
Series 5: Matt DiAngelo’s Waltz (week 11)
Series 6: Rachel Stevens’ Foxtrot (week 10)
Series 7: Ali Bastian’s Viennese Waltz (week 8)
Series 8: Pamela Stephenson’s Viennese Waltz (week 10)
Series 9: Chelsee Healey’s Paso Doble (week 11)
Series 10: Kimberley Walsh’s Tango/Cha-cha Fusion (week 10)
Series 11: Abbey Clancy’s Salsa (week 10)
Series 12: Caroline Flack’s Salsa (week 12)
They gave the first perfect scores in week 10 the most, so who knows if they’ll add one more series to that list or Craig will withhold it again like last series. Either way, can’t wait for tonight’s show.
Not looking forward for the Quickstepathon though.
Yeah, I can literally think of two cases where Craig gave a 10 and it wasn’t a 40: Austin Healy’s Paso in Series 6 and Kara Tointon’s American Smooth in Series 8. In both cases Len decided he didn’t like the style and gave 8 in one case and 7 in the other. After his reaction to Natalie Gumede’s very similar American Smooth in the 2013 final (both girls had Artem as pro among other similarities) I wonder if he’s been told not to do that any more, although he did it to Kellie’s Samba. A perfect score tonight, I’m not so sure. Would be a good pickup for Peter but for American Smooth? Unlikely he’ll earn it. Helen might be in the frame with Viennese, as might Jay who has Tango with a slightly cooler sounding, less overtly aggressive track. Paso looked like a potential stumbling block for Georgia but her training looked pretty amazing. Have to say though, while I think this season may be one of the highest standards ever, we might have to wait another week for a 40
Alesha also got a 10 from Craig but a 9 from Len, for what is probably the most beautiful Waltz ever performed on Strictly. And last, Ricky Whittle’s fantastic Showdance earned Craig’s 10 but Darcey (who at the time was still a mere robot) threw a 9 instead. Thankfully Darce-bot was only a guest judge by then so Ricky technically got a 40.
Seriously, none of any entry of Alesha’s and Kara’s exquisite dances got a 40 while several stinkers (Matt’s Waltz, Jason’s AT, Pamela’s QS to name a few) did? Truly something.
Very happy for Helen tonight, but worried for Anita and Katie. Hopefully Katie vs Peter dance-off so that Peter can be kicked off. I’m afraid though if it’s Anita vs Peter the former could get the toast, since Len bloody HATED it and Craig was on the same page.
Yes, that eventuality is one that I am worried about. Len certainly would never save Anita this week, so she’d need all the other 3 votes. Bruno’s she almost certainly gets but Darcey’s is unreliable and seems estrogen-based and Craig’s is a mystery. For that reason I did send all 3 of my own votes her way. I thought Anita was better in the Quickstepathon than several of the couples above, including Katie who ought to be in the bottom 2 for my money. I think (hope) Anita has made enough fans to save her because I saw quite a lot on Twitter. It is incredibly clear from that show just who is the weakest dancer and should go home, but will it happen? I can only hope.
The result of the Quickstepathon was also unexpected – Jay stood out the most from the pack (don’t really remember how, maybe he moved the most, although that doesn’t mean he was the best), yet he was all the way down at 5th. Katie seemed to hardly move and I forgot what my beef was with Georgia, but they scored high. But that’s somehow a given with these athons I guess. Only agree with the bottom 2 and the winner there.
Actually, except for switching 2nd and 3rd I called the results of the Waltzathon perfectly last year. This year I have no idea what the judges saw except that Peter clearly lost. I really thought that Jay did a far better job than 5th place.
I thought jay looked great in his quickstep. There was a point I thought he was a professional (but then again its kind of hard to see who is who). But i thought 5th was very very low. I remember him after the quickstep, so that has to be something right? His tango was on fleek as you youngsters would say, so Im happy about that.
I was kind of dissapointed with anitas rumba (please dont kill me). I would have given it a 7. Sorry. Maybe it was because of the paso…
Ok so I can officially say that I’ve lost my mind since I agreed with Craig on every dance but Kellie and Kevin. Anyways I’ll start with the one I liked the most: Helen and aliaz. That was kinda amazing. Jay did a solid dance but I kinda was expecting more if that makes sense. It lacked memorable moments. Anita and gleb had a solid dance but I also was expecting so much out of it that I was left going “that’s it?”. Peter was way better than last week but honestly he is a non event for me. He (like I said last week) suffers from fake sincerity/personality syndrome (like Carlos) but his is a worse case since he can’t sell it. It’s like making a Disney robot from one of the rides dance. Georgia and Giovanni….wow. Ok so not as good as last week but this was intense. I dug it. Katie and Anton….she looked pretty. That’s a plus there. The bad news: boring. Idk if the voters are voting for her dance skills now or the fact that Anton has a good partner and hasn’t totally become super annoying this season. That leaves the surprise of the night for me: Kellie and Kevin. First I must air a slight complaint: Kevin needs to work on costuming like asap. I’ve noticed this costume he had on wasn’t that far off from last weeks and the one with the jive. In the grand scheme of things it’s not terrible but still it bothers me. Then there was her outfit this week…..and I liked that one so not as bad as usual but he needs to just not be so predictable. The dance itself was a hoot and a lot of fun. Underscored.
Put a typo: not last week (that was their quickstep) I meant their fresh prince dance.
Great week this week.
SCD is so good this season…
Man, this quickstep marathon NEVER will happen on DwtS.
Can’t stop comparing how good SCD is great this season and how disappointing DwtS was.
DwtS is day after day is becoming a Drama Show… dance is like the last thing they care about. They explore the drama until the end (hello, you know who =P). Which is a shame… =(
I often find the week after Blackpool a bit of a come down. No one was truly awful, but think it was a bit of a holding week until quarter finals next week.
Kellie and Kevin – I want to like Kellie – she works incredibly hard and throws her all into each dance. But in honesty at times I find her annoying. To me this dance lacked finish – Kevin had tried to cram too much choreography in and the lifts were clunky. She needed to get more down into the floor I think, but it was fun and a party atmosphere. Would have thought 4 8s more appropriate.
Katie and Anton – was really looking forward to this dance, but somehow it didn’t quite gel. Think that costume was part of the problem. I know that Vicky said Katie had worn black too recently for the rumba, but to me this dress did not sell AT. No big mess ups at all, but it lacked the passion and intensity of an AT. Not too badly overscored – maybe a 31 might have been fairer, but a good try. Think she should be reaching the end of the journey dance ability wise, but she is very likeable and Anton is (in my view somewhat bizarely) popular so suspect she’ll last.
Helen and Alijaz – spare me the sobbing! Thought this was a good Viennese Waltz but as with all Helen’s dances it was very careful and controlled. Her footwork was good but she was a little too stiff in the top line for me. Overscored for me. Technically good, but not the best dance of the series in my world. More like a 37. Happy to watch Alijaz dance though so glad she’s sticking around!
Jay and Aliona – I loved this Tango. Some brilliant moments – thought that the start and end were fabulous, but think he lost momentum a couple of times in the middle. He is growing and selling his performance more each week. Definitely the best couple yet for me. I’d accept that technically Helen’s might have been better – 36.
Peter and Janette – I feel a little sorry for Peter this week. Due to the dance off controversy last week, I feel like he’d had an awful week’s press. I happen to agree that Peter should have gone home last week if playing by the rules of the dance off. but don’t think it was Peter’s fault or at his instigation that he didn’t. I think that he is a simple soul – someone was comparing his to Carlos above. I don’t think he’s clever enough to manipulate the viewers or play the game as (arguably Carlos did). At the beginning his dances were over scored and the judges blew smoke up his ass. Now he is being lambasted and I don’t think he really understands what is going on! Janette let him down this evening. American Smooth is a gift of a dance – a chance to do lifts and a show stopper. This was nothing special and she held on to a cupcake for far too long – all in all I don’t think it will save him. I’d have given it 30. Slight shocked at the judges though – the bad press has definitely had an effect this week I think.
Anita and Gleb – don’t shoot me. I’ve been nervous about this dance all week. Rumba is hard and it didn’t look like they were loving it in rehearsals. This dance was a bit disappointing to me. Something just didn’t gel. I thought that her outfit did her no favours at all as it hid her hips and Gleb was foolish putting in a lift – it didn’t create enough wow to justify the loss of a point. Definitely my least favourite dance from Anita, but it wasn’t awful so that’s a positive. I’d have given it 32. I hope that she has built up enough support to survive the DO as she should reach the finals on her journey so far.
Georgia and Giovanni – I had high hopes for this dance but was disappointed. After an amazing few weeks, Georgia definitely had a drop in form. Disappointing top line I thought. I’d have given it 34. Didn’t know why she’d gone last – given that has happened a lot, but then realised she was the youngest and had like 2 minutes to prepare for the quickstepathon so fair enough!
As to the quickstepathon – what a load of nonsense! Difficult to see anything or make out who was who and then we had the joy of watching the judges argue and Bruno saying you can’t hurry it while Claudia is saying – it’s live! Then the scores made no sense! Thought that Jay and Aliona did stand out to me and deserved at least second or third while Katie and Anton were the weakest to me. Barely noticed Helen but am prepared to accept they were good – didn’t think Georgia was that good. The scores basically just isolated Georgia and Helen who are clearly the judges favoured women now.
Looking at the final scoreboard. They are clearly setting up Peter to go. Think that Helen, Georgia and Jay are protected so two of the bottom four. If Peter is against Katie or Kellie then he’ll go. If he’s against Anita then I fear that Len and Craig will vote against her and she’ll go with Len’s casting vote. Hope the public will pull them through. I registered a few more accounts tonight to vote for her. fingers crossed.
I’m hoping that the dance off is Katie vs Peter but I keep getting this feeling that Georgia might be in there this week. There is nothing I would like more than to see Peter leave but if it’s him vs Katie I might have to support Anton in that situation. I feel like Anita should be safe….from what my friends have told me she has become quite a fan favorite. I wonder if that has anything to do with why they want to keep her down the leaderboard.
Thank you so much for all of your reviews and comments. Sorry I’m late as my life is still so crazy right now. The post has been updated with videos. Thanks to Andrea for recording. I’m off to watch everything right now. I can’t wait to see what you mean about Gleb and Anita and everyone.
PS: Daniel, thanks for the list of the weeks when there was a perfect 40 scored. Fascinating especially for the “none” seasons. Unreal!
I think Peter will be in the bottom two and will be joined by either Kellie or Anita. I think Katie is still getting a lot of votes but is Anita getting more than Kellie? My gut instinct says yes but if they don’t get the votes and do end up in the bottom two then Gleb only has himself to blame. Foolish of him putting a lift into that routine. This isn’t DWTS, you don’t get away with it here and Len shut him down. Rookie mistake and I hope it doesn’t come back to bite them.
Ok, done. Here are my rankings.
1. Helen and Aljaz – So elegant. So lovely. This is ballroom for what we live for.
2. Gleb and Anita – Wow, they had one of the most beautiful, touching, vulnerable, emotional Rumbas I’ve ever seen. Her lines were beautiful and I loved when Gleb fell to the floor (in splits) as if he was her Prince. Just stunning! The choreography was so beautiful and touching, it made me cry. So beautiful.
3. Georgia and Giovanni – I just love these two. Her footing was off in several places and her arms weren’t as strong as they could be, but, wow, they gave it up out there. I’m freaking out at the level of choreo tonight.
4. Jay and Aliona – First of all, I as digging the Prince remix they were dancing to. I liked the dance ok, though once again, I felt like Jay needed to be more into it. I also think he needed more powerful leg movement. If I was his partner, I’d work on nothing but facial expressions and acting for a day.
5. Katie and Anton – The choreo was top notch but I thought she could have used a lot more power and technique in her legs and emotion into the dance,
6. Kellie and Ken- Their dance was colorful and they were a ray of light out there, but, I thought she could have shaked her hips more.
7. Peter and Janette – Well, this was like watching a repeat of what we saw of them last week and with the same issues….poor foot work and poor leg work. I love his joy for the dance, but, other than that, it’s repetitive. They aren’t challenging themselves and it doesn’t seem like they are growing like the others.
I’m with many of you and hope it’s Peter and Kellie in the dance off with Peter going home.
I hope not too, M8!!
LisaW, I have to agree with you about the Quickstepathon. I loved it, but I also had such a hard time watching and keeping track of them all. Helen, Jay, and Anita seemed to stand out the best imo.
Great night of dancing overall. My thoughts:
Kellie and Kevin: It was colorful and impressive in some places. Transitions in and out of the lifts were a bit weird but good job. I do like Kevin but I do not connect with Kellie unfortunately.
Katie and Anton: Costume was offffff. Green? Really with frills? That was distracting and I really couldn’t see her footwork. For his first AT, Anton did great.
Helen and Aljaz: These two always seem overscored to me. Thought it was a beautiful V.Waltz though. Gorgeous topline. And her dress was beautiful
Jay and Aliona: Loved it! Super fierce and well suited for a tango. Brilliant choreography. Loved the colours of their outfit too.
Peter and Janette: Bless his heart. Seems like a genuinely good guy. I’m thinking the whole dance off drama got to him this week. It was a good effort but i fully expect him to be in the dance off. Choreography was also disappointing, Janette
Anita and Gleb: These two have been my favorites from day one but I do have to say I didn’t like Gleb’s risk. What was he thinking putting a lift in there? A lift that wasn’t even that special. I did like the choreography but as I was watching it, I knew the judges wouldn’t like it so I wish it was more traditional. I do love a good traditional rumba too.
Georgia and Giovanni: First, whats up with these two always going last or second to last? Good dance though. Definitely a drop from the previous weeks but shes so gorgeous and still one of my favorites.
Quickstepathon: Well, this was a mess. I couldn’t see much but from what I saw, Jay and Aliona were killing it! 5th? Whatt. Didn’t even notice Helen. Katie was too high up. Poor Pete.
Predictions: Kellie and Peter in dance off with Peter leaving.
I really enjoyed tonight’s show. There was little to no Blackpool hangover this year which was great! Here are my thoughts.
Helen and Aljaz’s Viennese Waltz: Gorgeous! I loved the simplicity of it and the emotional depth Helen brought to the performance. It was soft and gentle; there was almost a fragile quality to it. Technically, it was excellent, and no gapping! Bless him, I guess VWaltz is the one dance Aljaz can teach his celebs to do without gapping.
Jay and Aliona’s Tango: I loved this. It was clean, sharp, intense, and focused. I thought Jay was driving the dance and delivering the emotional subtext of the performance. He’s never going to bust out a lot of facial expression, but in this performance, I thought his face had a serious and intent look on it rather than the blank mask of concentration we’ve seen before.
Anita and Gleb’s Rumba: Sensual but classy. I wish Gleb hadn’t put in the lift. It didn’t add to the performance and just made Len mad. Anita might have been a tad stiff and slightly self-conscious at the beginning, but I felt she relaxed into it as she let the performance take over. I saw nice hip action in those open out moves for which I can never remember the name. Sadly, it seems like no matter what the pros/celebs do for rumba, the judges aren’t satisfied. When it comes to this horribly difficult style, I’d rather see a lovely dance with a few rumba moves that evoke the mood of the dance, than a ton of badly done basic rumba steps that just look awkward.
Kellie and Kevin’s Salsa: Kellie always delivers a solid routine both in terms of performance and technique. I always feel comfortable watching her dance, and I enjoyed the fun, party feel they brought to this number. They just don’t seem to be able to deliver that extra wow-factor necessary to stand out.
Georgia and Giovanni’s Paso: She gave it a good go and it wasn’t bad, but I don’t think think this style suited Georgia’s personality and she’s just not mature enough yet to really sink her teeth into the kind of character you need to bring out a strong believable Paso. I also think the rock anthem kind of threw Giovanni a bit, and he didn’t quite know how to make a good Paso out of it.
Katie and Anton’s AT: Katie looked beautiful, as always, but I found the performance a bit tentative and sterile. I think Anton’s inexperience with the dance showed because they both looked kind of unsure at times. It was kind of AT by numbers for me.
Peter and Janette’s American Smooth: Well it was a definite improvement over last week’s non-Jive (which wouldn’t be hard to do). However, I think Peter’s gone about as far as he’s going to go in terms of improvement.
The Quickstep-a-thon was interesting. I do think the male celebs were at a distinct disadvantage since they were up against the male pros who’ve had years of experience “driving in traffic” on the dance floor. From that perspective, a Swing-a-thon like they did a few years back would be a more level playing field. Still, it was fun to watch them all out on the floor together in a traditional ballroom competition setting.
Hallelujah for actual training footage on their VTs last night! Finally a week where I’m not cringing at the attempts for comedy VTs. Beautiful dancing all around, and funny that the actual strongest 7 couples were indeed the top 7 so even on the seemingly strong bunch, it becomes clear that some were even better than the others.
– While Kellie excelled in energy, she really lacked charm and grace. Sure, she was dancing a Salsa, but the whole thing feel not only frantic but also a tad sleazy to me. And really, Kevin? Most challenging routine? Oh I don’t remember you said that before not at all. None of the lifts performed was groundbreaking, certainly not in any of Helen’s level of upside down helicopter blades lift last week.
– Thank God for YouTube, because when I watched the dance I thought it was completely and utterly brilliant, and booed like crazy when it didn’t get more 9s. And then I rewatched it, and could see where they came from. I like that the dance had a huge chunk of content, and Katie did far better than I thought she’d be, but her legs really need to be sharper and the lifts could be performed better. The worst thing, however, is Anton. Seriously, Katie was so commanding the entire time and all Anton did was staring at the floor, too busy to watch his own steps to pay attention to her. Really, Anton.
– Now that’s the Helen I’ve been waiting for! Graceful, poised, didn’t mess anything and completely in character the whole way through. Love that she’s showing bits of vulnerability on her training as well. I won’t give it 40, since I thought they were out of hold almost as much as they were in hold, and they did take quite a time to start properly dancing. But what a performance, funny that my favourite performances from Helen so far have been her Waltzes.
– Okay, Cids, Jay did do “When Doves Cry” justice. It’s still my least favourite dance danced to that song but who knows if it’ll grow on me later, after all Rachel’s Argentine Tango took time on me as well. I thought Jay looked really effortless gliding on the floor and he looked the most confident, yet had the most fun ever. Jay/Helen F2 pls.
– I wanna feel sorry for him, since he seems sincere and the whole thing last week was really unfortunate, but then I remember his overreaching tendencies and his never-ending “can I just say….” remarks, so no, hopefully he’ll end up in the dance-off and leave. Slightly unrelated, but Karen and Janette had continually been the worst Ballroom choreographer around, so why couldn’t we had an actual Ballroom champion as a pro (Joanne, even if I can’t stand her) instead?
– Oh Anita. Oh Gleb. Actually, emphasize more on Gleb on that. Granted, Vogue, I agree that the choreography is SO beautiful. But it’s also so many of the wrong aspects at once. It didn’t showcase Anita, it broke lift rule and it had little content. Also, whose idea it was to use a page from Persuasion? And the page looked like it’s being read from a Kindle so let’s call the whole thing Kindlerumba. Keep in mind that Jay and Kellie are the ones who haven’t done Rumba, and neither were the best actors around, so maybe we’ll close this series without having a single good Rumba.
– Okay, FIVE consecutive weeks of having Georgia danced in the last three spots? And people thought Helen had been favored in the dancing order. The performance was quite showstopping, but seeing the likes of Jay and Helen being shoved near the death slots makes me can’t help but to wonder. The answer, of course, is that Georgia is the youngest one around and the last performer would only had two minutes to change into their Quickstep dress, so it made sense. The routine was quite showstopping, but she lacked real finesse, and the song is still irritating as hell. But hey, at least she outdid Rachel Stevens, although it’s not like Rachel did a favourable Paso either.
On the Quickstepathon:
I rewatched it several times already just to see everyone from the shoddy camerawork. Here are my thoughts:
– Helen is by far the best
– Jay is very noticeably having a blast but he did stumbled and nearly crashed into several couples, not to mention he’s the only one failed to stop with the music on time
– Katie started out well but in the end Anton noticeably shoved her into position
– Kellie already made a mistake not even ten seconds in. And some people on DS thought she should’ve won. Major lol on that.
– Georgia is the least noticeable so I guess the judges saw what I couldn’t, although I don’t think she’s that good.
– Anita danced well but I don’t like the Charleston bits in the beginning
– Peter was just sad.
My order would be: Helen, Anita, Jay, Katie, Georgia, Kellie and Peter.
The thing that frustrates me is that if Anita was getting consistently high scores like 9s and 10s then she really could win the whole thing as despite not having a fanbase going into the show, she seems to have gained a lot of public support and has been on a “journey” so to speak. But Gleb doing stupid stuff like that won’t give her a chance of winning. You can’t be getting scores of 31 in week 10 if you want to win this competition and that’s down to Gleb getting points docked by putting a lift in. You could tell Bruno was the only judge from DWTS when he gave her the nine lol.
I think Helen, Jay and Georgia will almost certainly make the final now. The last spot IMO will be between Anita and Katie D. I reckon Anita being confirmed as doing the tour gives her the edge. One things for sure, if Katie D makes the final with Anton she has a massive chance of winning with the public sure to rally behind the Anton to win bandwagon.
Agreed on the training VTs Daniel. I wonder if the producers have finally started listening to the overwhelming negative feedback to the comedy VTs. It’s been utter cringeworthy for the last couple of seasons now since the new exec producer was employed.
So I’d normally have posted at least 10 times by now but alas, life calls. My 10 came out again last night and, surprising the hell out of me, it was for Helen.
1) Helen and Aljaz (10)- First of all, I also wanted to say how much I loved the VTs this week, but especially Helen’s. I really did need to see this level of humanity from her, and I suddenly found her very endearing. It passed into her dance too, because not only was it easily her strongest dance technically, she also managed to get really into the character of the song and dance. It was, quite simply, stunning. I have no criticisms. I won’t even bitch about another white dress.
2) Jay and Aliona (9)- His musicality really is extraordinary. I don’t think he could have fit the music much better and his rhythm and timing are perfection. I did really enjoy his characterisation too. Aliona’s choreography is very much Aliona’s choreography, if you know what I mean. There were parts of it I really liked, especially in the way they covered the floor, and there were a few parts towards the beginning I hated. Either way, it was hot, easily Jay’s best dance since his Jive, and I’m hoping now that he’s beaten that score and got more 10s to his name he can get past that and focus on the rest of the series.
For me, these two were an easy 10 and a high 9, and they were way ahead of the rest of the pack last night. They also both showed signs of being able to get past the problems which I think are holding them back, Helen in particular.
Thanks All! Loving your thoughts and reviews. …and yes, even if and when we disagree on Gleb and Anita.
Cids, you are right about the Rumba. It seems the judges always have issues with it (this goes for the US too).
Here’s to the results. *nervous*
The producers have taken note to the fallout regarding last week’s sham. Tess clearly asking judges who they want to save “AND WHY” in the dance off. She’s never said that before, so last week’s negative publicity has had a big impact.
Alas Peter gone, Anita safe = one happy M8. Kellie hopefully goes next week.
Musicals week next week! Woohoo! 🙂
One happy Vogue here too, M8!! Shewww!!! I was so glad when Gleb and Anita were called safe. And omggg, did you see that Latin dance with he and Natalie? I about died. Just breathtaking.
And I have to take back what I said on Jay before. I loved rewatching his A.Tango again. He was much better than I gave him credit for the first time.
I loved when Tess asked the judges more on the dances too. That was cool.
Great show again! Loved it!
Can’t wait. Jim. Should be cool!!
Vogue, missed you yesterday. Totally agreed with all your comments and the order you had everybody. I am so relieved, it just got too close. I think Gleb and Anita were nervous, did not want to do that dance again. I loved it, I keep telling myself this is a woman who has never danced and I cannot believe how well she is doing. She is not the age of Bindi.
It was a good show today, coming to an end soon. Did Gleb sign on to do Pro Dance Live?
I wonder if he will do the SCD live show?
The SCD competition is really good and fun to watch, all good couples left.
Phew! It’s always good to get the ‘right’ elimination. It was Peter’s time to go.
So happy Anita and Gleb weren’t in the dance-off with Peter. I gave Anita all my votes, and I’m glad it paid off. While I felt their Rumba was much better than Peter and Janette’s American Smooth, the judges certainly didn’t think it was appreciably better. Add to that Len having the deciding-vote and hating their Rumba, and I wasn’t sure they’d survive this particular dance-off if they ended up in it.
While I appreciate the straight-up rehearsal VTs, I doubt the public’s preference had anything to do with the producers’ decision to do them. The producers have happily ignored the viewers railing against the comedy VTs for ages. I think it was either the producers’ way of acknowledging that it’s down to the serious part of the season now or with the couples having two dances to learn, they don’t have time to waste shooting a comedy VT.
Can’t wait for Musicals Night!
Julie and Cidra, what a relief indeed!! I was so glad it was the “right” elimination too.
And wasn’t Kellie cute when she was called safe? I have grown to just love that girl.
Cids, I agree about the VT’s as well.
Julie, stay tuned on more tour info in December! 😉
Based on the DS forums, it looks like Anita has the Argentine Tango. I’m very much looking forward to that. Maybe to Evita? If she is in the semis, she has the Viennese Waltz, Salsa and Foxtrot left (did I miss anything?). She’ll probably skip the Viennese since she did an AS to it in week 3. I absolutely abhor the Foxtrot though… I guess we’ll wait and see.
I hope we get to see at least one good rumba. Jay might do a good one (although we know how contemporary rumbas have fared in this competition lol). He’ll probably skip Samba since there is no way in hell that they will not make him do a Charleston. Every couple in SCD practically does it. In fact, I think that will be his dance this week. He is a very engaging young man and seems to be very genuine. Totally opposite of Carlos (sorry to Carlos fans). I hope he makes the finals.
Will be intresting to see who will be in the bottom 2 this week since none of them have been in the bottom 2 except for Kellie and Kevin. Probably Helen? Or Katie?
That was the point in the competiton where Pixie was ousted ?. Hopefully, Jay will have enough support to push him through.
Contrary to some, I’m actually enjoying SCD this year. Very engaging show. I like the simplicity of the dances.
Had to run off to do something so cut short my earlier comments on the results show.
@ Vogue, gee I didn’t notice Gleb and Natalie dancing during Il Divo’s performance *grin* If you believe that…. Let’s just say, my eyes were glued to the screen for that sensual tango-esque performance.
Speaking of Tangos, glad you enjoyed Jay’s better the second time around.
I agree with you on Kellie. I know she (and Kevin) set some of our friends’ teeth on edge, but I like her. In fact, I like everyone who’s left. That’s a double-edged sword because I’ll enjoy all the dances, but really hate the eliminations. I’m already dreading next week’s dance-off.
Finally, I thought the opening number was fun and cute. I always like it when we get Tristan more in the middle instead of in the background of the group dances, and he has a way of being able to flip a switch and go from nerdy to sexy which makes my heart go pitter-patter.
@Daniel, Happy to hear you weren’t disappointed in Jay’s effort to “When Doves Cry”. As for whether or not Jay can manage a good Rumba, who the hell knows? It’ll be a huge challenge, and so much depends on the song. However, as I said earlier, the judges have almost nothing good to say no matter what the couples do when they Rumba.
I’m happy Peter got eliminated this week but I’m also hoping that Kellie bounces back next week big time. I missed the Poe into dance but was told and I quote “it was pretty funny”. Don’t quite k ow what to make of that since that’s the same person that thought ET was a comedy.
Opening not Poe into lol. Sorry my phone must still think I’m in proofreading mode for my buddy lol.
Nicole, I hope you are right about Anita and Gleb getting an A. Tango next. That will be a hot one for sure.
Cids, I agree. I wouldn’t want anyone to get a Rumba with this set of judges. Yikes. Glad you enjoyed Gleb and Natalie’s dance. I loved seeing Tristan dance too. He looked so cute in jeans! 😀
Vin, you are right about the opening. It was fun, light, and sexy all in one!

@Vogue, our prayers have been answered, lol!
Jay has the rumba to Falling Slowly. Souns special. Lots of moderns osbgs for the rumba this year. Writings, Hello, Thinking out Loud, Read All About it…
Awesome. Thanks!! 😉
Oh boy, I can’t wait to see Anita and Gleb’s AT! Hope the producers have buckets of ice to cool down Bruno. 😀 If Gleb really drills her on technique, this could be amazing because they always deliver emotionally. I’ll be very curious to hear Len’s reaction. He’s always babbling on about wanting to be transported to a steamy bar in Buenos Aires, and if anyone can come up with choreography for that, it’ll be Gleb; but he needs to throw in a lot of traditional AT moves and limit “Gleb specials” or Len won’t “get it”.
And Jay gets to try his luck with the Rumba. Yikes!!! Still, I think the song is good, and I liked what Aliona said about Rumba on It Takes Two. She said people scare themselves by thinking the Rumba is harder than it is. Her take on it is, if you understand what the dance is about and get the idea of the movement, it’s one of the easier dances because there’s only about half the steps in it that would normally be in any other dance. Hopefully Jay will buy into that because I’d love to see him deliver a Rumba the judges *have* to praise!
Oh, Cidra, you are so right about Gleb and Len. Gleb just needs to bring on the fire and choreo without breaking any rules and Len will feel it.
Kthxbai, Peter. Not gonna miss ya and yar “Can I just say…” remarks *waves*
Regarding this series’ top 6, I really think this is some of the best top 6 Strictly ever had. The past top 6 that I’ve watched:
Series 5: It had Kenny freaking Logan. Dismissed.
Series 6: Rather strong top 6, but mainly because it had perhaps the best top 4 ever. Jodie Kidd sucked hardcore on Latin and Christine wasn’t on par with the other four.
Series 7: Chris Hollins won. I refuse to say anything else.
Series 8: Hello Widdy.
Series 9: Alex was rubbish. Robbie even more.
Series 10: Lisa “The People’s Champion” Riley couldn’t dance for shit. Nicky from Westlife couldn’t dance for shit. Louis Smith couldn’t properly emote anything for shit.
Series 11: Susanna was the only weak link, but strong group nonetheless.
Series 12: Mark Wright.
And this series’ top 6 is very strong too, Katie is probably the weakest but overall I think this or series 11’s top 6 were the best they’ve ever had. No comment about the first four series though.
And now for the remaining dances! Because we’ve got two weeks left before the finale, it is much easier to predict the next three dances, of course taking into consideration that they’ll continue the tradition of having one Ballroom and one Latin for the semis:
Anita’s remaining dances: Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Salsa, & Argentine Tango.
-> Anita’s doing the AT this week, whioh is triple yay for me because (1) AT is my absolute favourite dance on SCD/DWTS so the more performed the better (2) I’ve been dying to see Anita doing the AT and (3) hello, it’s Gleb. Hopefully it’ll bring more tens this time. Now one of her semis dances should be the Salsa, so I HOPE they’d left out boring old Foxtrot and do the VW instead. But Anita’s AS was already VW-based so I’m afraid they’ll have to do the Foxtrot. I mean sure, Louis and Caroline got Foxtrot in the semis and they won it all, but the competition is closer than ever here that I’m afraid Anita might get lost in the shuffle.
Georgia’s remaining dances: Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Cha-cha-cha & Argentine Tango
-> I don’t get why they’d reserve not one but two of the boringest of all dances for her right at the very end. So she got three Ballrooms and one Latin, so good luck doing a Cha-cha in the semis, Georgia! At least she won’t be doing the Foxtrot along with that, since she got that this week (and apparently it’s themed to Beauty and the Beast), so I’d say they will miss the Argentine Tango. Just a hunch. Now, Georgia has continually been in healthy positions on the leaderboard – I wonder how her votes doing, since I don’t think her support has been truly tested. She’s been either first or second in the last five weeks.
Helen’s remaining dances: Jive, Paso Doble, American Smooth & Argentine Tango
-> Well, looks like she’ll be doing the Jive next week, unless they’ll Dani’ed Helen and have her do both AS and AT in the semis. It’ll be interesting to see Helen doing Paso this week, since it can be a triumph or a downfall. I’m also picturing Aljaz will be leaving out the American Smooth, only to have that as Helen’s Showdance, Frankie-style. Also, I don’t get why people keep implying Helen will surely be in the dance-off the following weeks – I don’t think she’s the most popular, but she’s been on rather dangerous spots on the board twice before and she kept advancing. I can see her ended up like Denise Van Outen, but it’s doesn’t seem to be written on the wall to me.
Jay’s remaining dances: Viennese Waltz, Rumba, Samba & Charleston
-> Are they eyeing a complete Harry Judd re-do on Jay by giving him VW and Charleston in the semis? I mean, I’d be glad if that means he’ll miss the Samba, but after seeing how loose he can be in the Salsa, I’m more than curious how he’ll fare with that now. Don’t know what to think about his Rumba this week though – “Falling Slowly” is gorgeous, but Aliona’s sole Rumba in the past (Harry’s obviously, oh and in the movie-related week as well, WHAT A COINCIDENCE!) wasn’t amazing. But Jay seems to be having a blast and he did prove me wrong in the last two weeks, so we’ll see. Still think he’s a hot shot for the trophy though.
Katie’s remaining dances: Foxtrot, Waltz, Samba & Charleston
-> Wow, a very healthy list of dances for Katie here. I mean, do you really think Anton’s going to do the Samba? They have the Foxtrot this week, so she’ll be doing Waltz and Charleston (or Samba, but, nvm) next week. I’d say her Ballroom would be fine, but I’m actually also looking forward to her Charleston, since the one Anton did with Laila was pretty neat. And since the gong of “could this be Anton’s year to win” is still quite loud, I think she’ll be fine. As long as she didn’t end up in the dance-off.
Kellie’s remaining dances: Viennese Waltz, Rumba, American Smooth & Argentine Tango
-> Interesting that out of the six Kellie is the only one who’s been in the dance-off before. She had three Ballrooms (well one, but three by nature) so we’ll see her Rumba next week if she made it. Don’t have much to say, maybe they’ll miss the Argentine Tango indeed but she’s by far my least favourite out of everyone left so it’s hard for me to even muster up some excitement for her future dances.
Thanks so much for the info on the remaining dances, Daniel!! I’m getting so excited for these final weeks.
Question: do they usually just have THREE couples in the finale? If so, I hope it’s…
Gleb and Anita
Jay and Aliona or Georgia and Giovanni
Helen and Aljaz
They’ll have four, Vogue. This week is movie/musical/whatever week aka quarterfinal, next week the semis, and then the finale. It’s 6-5-4 order.
Assuming there’ll be no changes from the past three years, the four couples will be performing three dances – Judges’ Choice repeat, a Showdance and their favourite dance repeat. The first finale night will be the final four performing Judges’ Choice and their Showdances. The second one will feature an elimination at the very start of the show, and whoever got fourth won’t get to do repeat their favourite routine. The last three will dance once more and in the end they’ll crown a winner!
The beebs never released though who ended up second and third.
And yes, those are exactly my top four too! <3
Awesome. Thanks!! Sounds good! 😉
I’d take that top 4. I could have seen Helen go until this week, but that Viennese at least should give her momentum I’m not sure she had before. Kellie is very good, but comes up a little short on the top four I think. She was perhaps unlucky to be put in this series. It would REALLY piss me off if Anton and Katie made the final. The only time they have stood out from the pack was when they were doing ATROCIOUS Latin routines and even their Ballroom is only serviceable-to-good while Helen and Georgia have delivered stunning ballroom in the last two weeks. Plus, I’ve recently accidentally started having a Twitter spat with @TeamDerBeke and I can’t let them win! If they win, it will ruin for me what has been an awesome series. Anton has really annoyed me because he has next to no creativity! Will never deserve to win! For all the people who recognise their weakness online, Anton has a very loyal and very annoying fanbase.
And now, only 3½ hours late (sorry, my life’s been crazy the last few days) it’s the full songs and dances for this week!
Anita & Gleb will dance the Argentine Tango to ‘Cell Block Tango’ from Chicago.
Georgia & Giovanni will Foxtrot to ‘Beauty & The Beast’ from the show of the same name.
Helen & Aljaz perform the Paso Doble to ‘At The End Of The Day’ from Les Miserables.
Jay & Aliona are going to Rumba to ‘Falling Slowly’ from Once.
Katie & Anton are dancing the Foxtrot to ‘Maybe This Time’ from Cabaret.
And finally Kellie & Kevin are performing the Viennese Waltz to ‘Oom Pah Pah’ from Oliver
Musicals are pretty close to my heart, and Anita and Gleb have my favourite song of all time. But my God, has it been done to death. Hopefully Gleb can do something new with it.
By virtue of being Disney-related, Georgia and Gio’s song could be popular and should work really well.
By contrast, Helen and Aljaz’s song is from my favourite musical. I can see it working for a Paso, but I once made 2Unlimited work for a Paso so I’m not the one to ask. I mentioned it to a mate who’s an expert on Les Mis and knows ballroom a bit, and he was not convinced. I had this idea for a male-male Paso to Confrontation, also from Les Mis, but I guess that can wait.
Once is not well known, but it is such a good show, a gorgeous song, and while Rumba is very tough for males, if anyone can I think it might be Jay. No male celeb has ever had more than 36 for a Rumba, is now the time?
Katie and Anton have a great song, but it’s quite morose in its way, and I’m not sure it quite suits Foxtrot, although it’s hard not to suit Foxtrot. If I hear the word “Fred” or “Ginger” at any point I will scream!
Kellie and Kevin….. weird song, cockney theme, what else is new?
Thanks Mr A. I’m excited. I love Gleb and Anita’s song!! It’s so perfect for a Tango! In fact, I love all of their songs. Like you, I will be upset if Katie and Anton make it to the finals too.
Good old Cell Block Tango. I was a big fan of Holly and Artem’s tango and concept to this dance so naturally I’m excited for Anita and Gleb to do it and also to have an Argentine Tango rather than the Ballroom Tango Holly had, which IMO gives them more freedom to exploit the dance and concept with lifts and tricks etc. I hope Gleb goes all in with the concept and storytelling with this dance. The music is so dramatic and tells such a story. The fact that they get to dance it in week 11 means they could actively get tens for it.
I think Helen will make the final, she was always very talented and for me the strongest female. She probably the best set of dances left to perform such as Jive, AT etc which are all audience winners.
Just from personal experience I do have a problem with Kellie and Kevin’s song. Last year I was doing an audition for Oliver, so I spent two days before it talking in a Cockney accent to get into practice, and I developed what I call a “Cockney elbow.” Genuinely, my right elbow was reflexively raised, tense and twitchy in a somewhat stereotypical way. Not intentional, it just happened, and these are things you don’t want in a Viennese Waltz. Of course, I suspect genuine Cockneys don’t have this problem but it’s a risk….
Kellie’s an Essex girl so she’s close enough to being cockney. I still expect Kellie to be eliminated barring any foul scoring this weekend.
Also has anyone wondered whether Georgia is running a little low on votes compared to others? She has got a lot of pimpslots lately and the competition is really heating up. I’m just trying to figure out who will be in the danceoff next. Katie D and Georgia both have foxtrot, the couple that scores the lowest of the two must be in danger with Kellie.
Said what I’ve been thinking sadly. The same polls that correctly predicted the last 4 eliminations say Georgia stands to be bottom in votes (she was a hair ahead of Peter last week.) However, I think she and Giovanni produce the best dancing. She can get the scores to get through that, and she actually topped the same poll for her Charleston so we shall see. For the record, there was an unofficial ballroom faceoff between Katie and Georgia at Blackpool, when both had American Smooth. Now for me Georgia delivered a crushing victory (and my first 10) with better technique and performance and more precision, but Katie’s took Foxtrot inspiration while Georgia’s was Viennese Waltz. It’s possible that Katie takes it, or that Georgia wins but not by much, and Kanton’s bloody fanbase keeps them going still, but I’d like to think Georgia gets back on her form from the 4 weeks before this one and makes the final. I think she and Anita deserve it the most for different reasons. That danceoff is a real and upsetting possibility for the semi finals though.
Just as briefly as I can, I never finished with my thoughts on last week
3) Georgia and Giovanni (9)- A beautifully strong, committed Paso, but a few rookie mistakes, mainly that her upper body was so tense it restricted her ability to shape her arms. A minor fault, and she remains the strongest, most consistent dancer in my book. Her dress must have been stunning before the cats got to it.
4) Anita and Gleb- Just gorgeous, emotionally perfectly pitched and for the most part beautifully danced. I couldn’t see giving it less than 8. But honestly Gleb’s choreography went to some weird places I didn’t like, not to mention the lift, which was a pretty ridiculous thing to do if I’m honest, and Anita did very occasionally clip her lines slightly. I couldn’t see giving it more than 8. In summary, I gave it 8.
5) Kellie and Kevin (8)- Honestly, kinda boring. I wonder if Kevin knows how to do pulled-back properly, because it’s not the first dull routine of the series from them. It also wasn’t quite fully committed to the performance in my view. There were probably technical issues but it’s Salsa, who cares?
6) Katie and Anton (8)- Also kind of less interesting than it could have been, with a side of technical issues, the main one being the huge steps she was taking. The reason I clashed with Anton’s fansite is because they dared to call Anton “Latino King” after this dance. Hahahahahahahaha no! Even here, he played it safe with a routine which owed more to Ballroom Tango than I’d have liked. Never down and dirty enough. But maybe that’s the vendetta talking.
7) Peter and Janette (7)- Just not up to standard technically. One of the lifts scared the heck out of me. Above all it was a routine that just screamed “Peter Andre,” and by that I mean it was cheesy as hell.
8) Quickstepathon- All the predicted problems with it being impossible to judge without the predicted excitement of terrible accidents! All I know is that Jay managed to do a sufficient job, considering he was one of two celeb males, to earn at least a few more points, and that those points should have come from (repeating myself) Katie and Anton, who faded right into the woodwork as far as I’m concerned
Thanks Mr A!! I love what you wrote on Jay and the Quickstepathon. I was shocked to see him stand so much during that. So cool.
And did you all see ITT today? Lots of fun stuff at this link including a sneak peek of Anita, Jay, Aliona, Kevin, and Kellie in training and more: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvNMOFT7xnXJ2TgPI-GeyjA
If you saw ITT today, Gleb’s in hospital following an allergic reaction. They haven’t figured out to what yet. I saw a picture of him from I think the back of an ambulance. His face is pretty swollen. It looks mild, but still nasty. Wishing him the best for Saturday.
Thanks. I just saw the pic. Ouch. I hope he’s going to be ok!!
Been keeping up with all the Strictly news and ITT shows but haven’t had time to visit here until today. Loved catching up on everyone’s comments and can’t wait for Saturday!
I’ve got my fingers crossed that Gleb shakes off the allergic reaction quickly and (selfishly) hope it doesn’t cut into their rehearsal time. Of all the weeks to have something like this happen–aaargh!!!! I so want to see some 10s for them this Saturday so they can make a strong comeback from last week. I feel the judges aren’t solidly behind them and worry about their chances in a DO.
Agree with the general consensus on the Final Four: Anita, Georgia, Helen, and Jay. While I like Katie and Kellie, I’ll be miffed if either of them makes the final.
Kellie seems a reasonable choice for this week’s elimination. Barring an unexpectedly awesome performance from her that has the judges pulling out 10 paddles and gets the viewers energized, she should be in the dance off.
Katie should be in the DO too, but the Anton sympathy vote worries me. I really hope the general audience isn’t so caught up in the whole “Poor Anton hasn’t made the final since Series 1” narrative that they do something utterly stupid! If it was a weaker year, fine, throw Anton a crumb and let him and Katie slide into the final, but not this year. When there are four amazing couples who are miles ahead of Katie and Anton, it would be a travesty.
I don’t want to hear “Anton’s never won” ever because he’s had opportunities and also I don’t care! In fairness, it hasn’t really been a “meme” of the series, but the last line of their song this week is “Maybe this time I’ll win.” No! Clearly 6th in overall dance standard but unlikely to go this week, I have to root for them to leave in the semis. Get ready to see an epic temper tantrum on the Monday if not (I’m away working for semis weekend.) What I do expect, probably this week, is a nominal 10, just so they can have Anton’s first perfect score and the thoroughly self-centered faux-modest pantomime that comes with it. Some pros who beat him to the 10 include Gleb (1 so far), Trent Whiddon (6 in his only series), James Jordan (37), Artem (47) and Pasha (61.) The only other 12-series pro, Brendan, has 26 10s to his name. Even Tristan has 2 if you include Christmas specials.
I’m so with you both on Anton. I hate when others think someone should win just because they haven’t yet. #BigPetPeeve It would be sad if he and Katie make it over any of the top four couples who have all produced much better dances.
Literally an hour after I wrote my last post, Zoe brought it up at least 3 times on ITT. Ugh. I really like Katie, but every week Anton proves how wrong he is for the show. It come down to a lack of creativity and adaptability for me. Take him out of his comfort zone (which seems to be restricted to standard ballroom in the Gene Kelly/ Fred Astaire mould) and he flounders like nobody else on the show (his Salsa this year in particular, but also Paso and Cha-Cha plus various dances from past years.) I’m also not one of those people who loves his personality (I find him cocky and insincere for a start.) Finally, I lose respect for him every time he sells out. He was on every episode of our version of Hole In the Wall, for Christ’s sake! He presented a cooking show. You’re a dancer! If you have that much free time between series, take a Latin class! Stop trying to get your face out there! I’m sorry, the man just annoys me. Katie deserved better.
He annoys me too and I’ve only seen one season with him. He reminds me of Louis van Amstel a little.
He didn’t even make the final in series 1 Cidra. That was a two couple final.
The problem is the weaker two female dancers scores wise (Katie and Anita) I think are getting more public votes than the two stronger females Helen and Georgia. I don’t expect Kellie to get a bounce this week and avoid the danceoff due to the competition being so stiff. But if she does get a bounce, I’d be extremely worried if I was Georgia or Helen.
I wouldn’t say Anton is like Louis Van Amstel. He’s defo more Tony Dovolani. He’s been given some utter garbage partners on this show over the years (Ann Widdecombe anyone?) so I don’t begrudge him finally having a chance at making it to the end. But if they get to the final they have a big chance of winning and that would be a bit stupid. I’ve been comparing Anita Rani to Matt Baker for a while now, I’d say Katie is the female version of Chris Hollins.
