That was amazing! I was expecting to kinda like it but i am a huge die hard fan of the movie and I think this was equally as good as travolta and company. Not gonna lie I freaked out when I saw original frenchie (funny story when she was on the Thomas the tank engine show I would go “she needs the others and needs to sing!”). Julianne killed it. Aaron was a different version of Danny than expected (more emotive than the orginal script made travolta be) and Carlos was a perfect kenickie. Jeff Conway would be proud. Vanessa hudgens was incredible. Where can I start the Emmy campaign. Like she nailed every of her songs with that atitidue despite what happened in her personal life. Loved her. Only person I didn’t like was patti (aka the bad seed of Rydel high lol). They made an annoying character even more annoying which is quite the accomplishment.
Hit submit too early lol. Anyways I think that fox just showed nbc how to do a live musical. It had so much energy and fun and the closest nbc has gotten to that was “the wiz”. The live audience really was a brilliant move too. Last but not least, the sets were really top notch and those costumes were pretty amazing. Julianne looked amazing in that last outfit in particular. Never thought I would say this but she just might rival Olivia’s in the movie. Keke Palmer in the Freddie my love performance….I mean talk about an amazing costume. Love how it went from that to a ball gown and back to what it was before. Ok anyways I probably sound crazy but what can I say this show really energized me lol.
DITTO Vin! I loved loved loved it ALL! Check out this new post as I just added some thoughts there too. https://www.puredwts.com/2016/01/31/what-did-you-think-of-grease-live-julianne-hough-and-the-cast-video-highlights/
