Sharna Burgess Weighs In On Her First Dance with Antonio Brown, Sneak Peek On Next Dance

Sharna Burgess has written her first new blog of Dancing With The Stars Season 22 at Extra. She writes of last night’s dance with Antonio Brown. She also gives a sneak peek into their next dance. Read on and more at Extra.

I know Len wants us to improve on a couple things, and we are going to do that. I feel the love of the Steelers Nation already. I cannot believe how much love and support this man has behind him, and I am so excited because that will be such an asset for us.

I am so grateful to have Antonio Brown as my partner this season. Beyond excited for what is to come!

Next week, we have the rumba, which is a tough dance for week two. It is a dance where you have to get in each other’s personal space, and Antonio and I are still getting to know each other, so it’s going to be quite a challenge to get in the character and really give the judges the essence of the dance. I think we can rise to that challenge. He is an incredibly hard worker. I’m just excited for the weeks to come with him.

Emma Slater Blogs DWTS Season 22 for Hollywood Life

Emma’s doing a blog for Hollywood Life this season! I’m looking forward to reading what she has to say. Click the link to read the whole thing.

Wanya Morris & Lindsay Arnold
Wanya is the Manya. No doubt, he’s the one the others should be looking for. And the ‘Boys to Men’ singer is aimed with the best weapon of all. Lindsay Arnold. What a duo! I see great things. Wanya is SO dynamic in this Cha cha, his turns were comparable to our professionals on the show! His ‘New Yorker’ section (it’s a step in Cha cha) was perfectly matching Lindsays line and arm position. Super sharp, smooth in places and kinda flirty too actually which a cha cha should be in my opinion. Just down right swag, Wanya left me wanting more!!! Encore! Well done to my girl Lindsay Arnold! Scores for Wanya & Lindsay: 8, 7, 8

Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd
Nyle & Peta blew me away tonight. I loved watching how Peta has developed her teaching technique to adjust to Nyle’s inability to hear the music. I was quite moving! Nyle is undeniably a talented dancer, he was a real sexy Latin man dancing away, spinning Peta and dipping her. Grrrrrrrr he was so in control and I love that! Having this kind of attack in Cha Cha is key. With Nyle watching Peta’s every move to keep him on time, I saw a trust and respect in their partnership. I can’t wait to see more from him, I think he’s a natural who doesn’t hold back. Good job Nyle!! Scores for Nyle & Peta: 8, 7, 8

PureDWTS Season 22, Week 1 – Power Rankings

Well, I’m gonna go out on a limb and predict that this season of DWTS will be won by…a dude. 😛 Yeah, that could be one of six individuals (but more realistically, probably 4), but after tonight, I daresay the bulk of this season’s talent rests with the men – don’t get me wrong, there are a few ladies with skills…but I think the men this season are closer to being the full package of skill, charm, and work ethic that it takes to win that MBT.

That being said – while the major narrative that TPTB seemed to want to push tonight was current NFL player vs. current NFL player, I found myself feeling a bit let-down with our two current football players; could have been the huge preseason hype surrounding them, but I was left feeling surprisingly “meh” by what I actually saw. Instead, I found my eye drawn to two other men that far eclipsed our NFL duo in terms of making a good impression.  As for the ladies – there’s some with real charm, and some with skill, and some that TPTB seem to have a vested interest in keeping around (cue side eye…), but when I’m left thinking about who really stood out in my mind tonight – I’m remembering a lot more guys than gals.

Other observations? The intro was cute, but seemed a little bit hodgepodge and not terribly cohesive; maybe I was just spoiled by how catchy & fun last season’s was. I also tip my hat to Erin tonight, as I think she was just what some of the contestants needed after a rough go of it with the judges – she was kind and gentle with those that maybe didn’t come out with such glowing reviews & scores.

Just a refresher, for those of you just joining us this season: the power rankings are a measure of how likely or unlikely I think a contestant is to get eliminated – it takes into account scores, fanbase, personality, memorability,  and whatever other factors I find that seem to influence voting behavior. It is NOT a ranking of “who danced the best”, so if you’re hear to complain that “so-and-so should be higher than such-and-such because they got a much higher score!” – you’re outta your element, Donnie. Now that we’ve got that outta the way… Read more..

Dancing With The Stars Season 22 Week 1- HQ Photos Of The Cast

Wow! So many stunning photos of Dancing With The Stars Season 22 Week 1! Be sure to click the photos to see even more. So, whose costumes did you like the most? I couldn’t take my eyes off of Peta and Nyle’s costumes. In fact, Peta’s costume reminded me of one of Madonna’s costumes for her Rebel Heart tour.

PureDWTS Season 22 Scores, Media, Recaps, And Interviews After Week One

What a show stopping premiere last night and full of surprises! Did I really see Marla Maples do a cart wheel? And how about Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd and Wanya Morris & Lindsay Arnold? I think one of those two couples will win Dancing With The Stars Season 22. Let’s see what Jimmy Kimmel has for his predictions? He’s picking Antonio Brown who talks with Jimmy during the show last night….

For more media, first see Glamour for all of their backstage interviews. Below is a take from the link with Sasha and Kim. Weren’t they firecrackers out there? I loved them too.

Dancing with the Stars is exhausting, but Kim Fields didn’t get that memo, because the Real Housewives of Atlanta star was all energy backstage. Wasn’t she nervous at all, especially being the first one to perform? “No, because I feel like Sasha really prepared me for this moment that I didn’t feel nervous. I was excited!” said the former Facts of Life actress. Sasha revealed that the secret formula is as simple as getting his partner to laugh. “I need to make her laugh, cause she has this amazing laugh! That’s what I love.” And what does Sasha need in return? “Just being absolutely as free as possible for him,” said Kim.

I also love what Edyta told Geraldo after their dance when he remarked that he blew it…

“Just focus, be loose and have fun. Nothing to lose now. And, if you laugh at yourself, you’ll always have the last laugh. That’s the key.” Echoed partner Edyta Sliwinska: “We need to keep it in perspective. It’s a dance competition. It’s not life or death. I absolutely get [the pressure], and Geraldo was saying this is more terrifying than going through a minefield. And he’s been to war zones! This is only entertainment.”

More interviews at Glamour. Here’s a snapchat too…. Read more..

Dancing with the Stars Season 22, Week 2 – Who’s Dancing What…and When?

Who’s Dancing What for Week 2 on Dancing With The Stars Season 22? Below is what we have so far and it’s “Latin” Night. To read our Media and Interviews post after Week 1, see this link.

A whole bunch of Salsas, a Cha Cha…and a Paso Doble?? Are they trying to get rid of Doug early??

ETA1: Source is fairly certain Nyle has rumba, and shared Kim’s song – apparently Kim is a huge Gloria Estefan fan. 🙂 -Court-

ETA2: Last two dances filled in.  Interesting – two rumbas, two cha-chas, two sambas, a paso doble, an Argentine tango, and 4 salsas. Predictions: the 3 weakest dancers get completely hosed (Geraldo, Mischa, & Doug); Antonio suddenly gets a higher score, while the judges nitpick Nyle a bit more; Ginger & Jodie fare about the same, but Ginger gets a higher score and more lavish praise. I’d be happy to eat crow on any of these, but on paper – that’s what my gut tells me is going to happen. -Court-

ETA3: And almost as soon as I post, Antonio posts a Snapchat of he & Sharna rehearsing to “Adorn” by Miguel…or possibly some other artist covering it.  It was hard to tell from the short clip, but I’m not 100% positive that it was actually Miguel…hence the ?. Fun fact: another Antonio danced to this on the show – it was Antonio Sabato’s rumba with Cheryl back in season 19.

ETA4: Is the fact that only know half these songs indicative of my age, or the obscurity of some of the choices??? -Court-

ETA5: Get ready! Jodie is opening the show tonight! – Vogue

ETA6: Whoever predicted Ginger going last was right on the money. :::rolls eyes::: ~Heidi
