So, onto the media, recaps, and the interviews. First, read Glamour for a recap and some backstage goodies. Also, ABC7 has a great recap and some beautiful photos. Then watch below. Note how some of the cast comments on the passing of Doris Roberts. Not sure what I think of Maks and his judging comments. He was way too rough last night in my opinion. Also, below are some rehearsal interviews mixed in that were posted late yesterday. You may have to stop some of these videos from playing…

ETA: From Fox411….
Backstage, DiMarco told FOX411 through his interpreter, “I wanted to think about what it was like to be in love and to incorporate that with Sharna and Sharna did a great job of connecting with me.”
Of his former love, he recalled, “It was a very healthy relationship and it’s just that we grew apart. My career went a different path so we couldn’t stay together. I didn’t want to force it so we just went our separate ways on very good terms but I think that’s a good thing that you’re able to bring that into the dance.”
DiMarco, who was visited by “America’s Next Top Model” host Tyra Banks in rehearsal, wasn’t ruffled by the scoring controversy, telling reporters it was “an honor” to get the one 10.
“Switch up” week was sweet for Jodie Sweetin, who scored 35 for her Paso Doble with Val Chmerkovskiy, good for second place. She told FOX411 afterwards that the performance was much different from last week, when she couldn’t hear the music and got poor reviews.
Sweetin was happy “to really just shake that off … wipe the slate clean, start over again … get my mojo back.”
ETA2: People is starting to post their interviews. Here’s a little with Sharna on Nyle.
“His senses of sight and touch are heightened to a degree that most of us will never really understand,” she says. “In the entire dance we only had to have two cues. For the rest of the routine, he could just feel where my body was moving. He could sense my timing around him. It was incredible to watch his internal timing.”
But what impresses Burgess, 30, even more was DiMarco’s ability to convey the musicality and emotion of the dance.
“He put the emotion into it because he would see the emotion I was putting into my face and body,” she says. “It was fascinating.”
Though Burgess will return to her usual partner, Antonio Brown, next week, she is not likely to forget her time with DiMarco any time soon.
“I absolutely adore him,” she says of DiMarco. “I might be a little in love with him. He’s the most incredible man.”
Be watching People for more.
ETA3: E News has posted a few interviews. You can view them here.
ETA4: Fox 411 talked with Paige Van Zant. She talked on dancing with Sasha and more…
“I had a lot of fun working with Sasha [and] I felt like I did great job with [him].
“The 22-year-old, who is now competing for the mirror ball trophy instead of a title belt, doesn’t like to lose and told reporters after Monday’s show, “I think the hardest thing I went through in the UFC was my first loss. It was terrible. It was traumatizing. But it’s just going back and rebuilding and getting better.”
VanZant said of her grueling training schedule for fighting, “It’s usually five to six days a week depending on how serious you train. It’s a full time job and if you really want to make something your passion and your career, you have to put the same amount of effort into it as if it was a full time job.”
Rumors flew that the pretty blonde might be in a romance with Bersten, her dance partner for week 2 after Balls was sidelined with a back injury, but VanZant told FOX411, “I am not dating anybody. I am very single.
“Me and Alan did a salsa which is obviously a very sexy routine. I feel if maybe me and Mark would have done that routine … we would have gotten the same comments … I was in love with the salsa.”
Next week, Van Zant will return to her original partner Ballas and hopefully, kick some ballroom booty!
“I’m really happy with how every dance has gone so far,” she smiled.
Wow, Mak’s interview is telling. He said that Len said “you’ll look good in this chair.”
Is Maks really gonna replace Len? argh. He’ll definitely create disagreements and be the “hard” judge, even though I think you can be tough and constructive, which I do not think he is.
Idk if I’d be okay with Maks replacing Len…I mean when they had him judge the first time I said ok great Maks is replacing Len in a few years, Julianne is replacing Carrie Ann in a few years…but his brother and future Wife are on the show…..
If Maks said it, it ain’t necessarily true. Even if Len did say that, I doubt VERY much that he has a say in hiring.
It’s ok if they eventually get Maks to be a Judge. However, he needs to gradually work into judging. He use to get so mad at Len and now all of a sudden is a bit overly harsh with his statements. In particular w/Kim and Keo on Monday. That was a poor move at this point of him judging. I knew he was a bit arrogant but I always took-up for him. This is a different story now. He’s arrogant and that is a fact. After all, folks do not have to watch DWTS. Just like the ratings moved-up they can also drop.
Not that the show will care, but if Maks is given a permanent spot at the judging table I will stop watching permanently. Why would they even consider it? The ratings have dipped somewhat every time he has appeared as a guest judge, so it’s not as if he is a big ratings draw. Last night’s demo dropped .4 from the previous week. I know ratings aren’t the only important thing, but it does merit some consideration, I would think. The people who are pushing for Maks to be a permanent judge are the same ones who thought it was unfair for Derek’s sister to be a judge. Mak’s fiance, ex-fiance, and brother are on the show. The hypocrisy is just too much for me to take.
LOL at Maks going on about trust. What a hypocrite. Over the years, no matter what DWTS has done to me, I have always forgiven them. But if Maks becomes a permanent judge, I won’t be able to take it anymore. I will retire from the show. I am even disappointed in myself for thinking Peta was making him a better person. You can’t change a old ugly ass dog into a cute puppy.
Saying in another interview that he has been on the show for over 10 years, and so if Keo is trying to ‘replace’ him, he has to bring what he used to bring. I’m over here likee Bruhhh remind me of what you brought pls? All I remember is a fake romance to get votes. And Yass to Shirley Ballas’s retweet: https://twitter.com/DereknMarkFans/status/722560752662384640.
I think I actually squealed like a little girl when I saw that Shirley retweeted that!! Priceless.
Thing is, I don’t think Maks was even being genuine about many of his comments. I think he was looking to make a splash and get everyone talking about him again (it sure worked, but perhaps he hasn’t realized yet he’s gone too far) because he NEEDS DWTS far more than it needs him. The ratings didn’t take a dive (didn’t even dip beyond it’s normal downward trend) when he left, the show is still doing well and they’ve continued to get choreographic Emmy nominations…oh, wait, Maks never contributed to that, so…
Jason
I feel the same way. I’ve always supported Maks with all of his nasty remarks against Len, etc. However, he is nothing but a hypocrite and very arrogant in his views. I am the person that said 3-months ago that I look forward for Maks to become a permanent judge on the show. But, now I will pull away from watching the show if he is a permanent judge.
Kim and Keo did an excellent job. We voted for them several times here in Chicago. All of the doctors, nurses on their breaks took time out to vote for Kim and Keo.
For Maks to make a nasty remark like that to Keo is hypocrital. I will no longer watch the show. They are pushing Ginger down people throat. I even turn away from GMA when they had Ginger and Mark on to reveal her “switch” partner.
But Heidi Don’t you remember it’s Mak’s show…. he said it himself.
But Seriously, If Maks is made permanent judge I doubt if I will be watching. I’m to the point where I can’t stand him.
Wow these scores from last week. Eek! I honestly can’t believe that Nyle is so far ahead of most of the pack. I guess we already know who will be one of the team captains for the Team dances.
@Sandy – Team captains are chosen based on cumulative scores, so right now (including guest judges) Nyle is 3 points ahead of Wanya, 4 ahead of Paige, and 6 ahead of Ginger. Given what everyone is dancing this week, Nyle getting passed by both Wanya and Paige is not out of the realm of possibilities.
Wow, how did his ego fit into the room? He is sure talking like he’s some bad ass.
