Dancing with the Stars Season 22, Week 6 – Live Blog!! (Spoilers)

Tonight we get to watch some couples mutilate “famous dances” and other couples probably do pretty well. The real question is: did Len get the memo on “content”? Last time we did this fiasco challenge, he wasn’t around. Hmmmm…we’ll see. Somehow, I suspect that all those with ballroom dances will end up below those without on the leaderboard.

After all the hype about the opening number, I found it underwhelming. Here’s my problem with it: they do these “famous” dances yet they don’t use the original music or original costumes. I don’t think I got half of them except “Risky Business” and “Big”. I didn’t care for it last season either – for the same reason. And, it’s funny, at the beginning I was like “shocking – they are featuring Mark, it’s about damn time!!”  I clearly spoke to soon because Val’s bare ass was all over the latter half of that dance. Not even remotely attractive, to me – but then I’m all about personality. Good ones.

Kim – I just love her attitude and HER personality. Good to see her getting the good edit – I suspect she doesn’t give them anything bad to work with. Keo…put on your big boy pants. I get you’re upset, I would be too – but it wasn’t Kim or Jodie’s fault. Read more..

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

Dancing With The Stars Karina Smirnoff And Doug Flutie Pushing Themselves More Than Ever (Blog, Rehearsal Interview)

Dancing With The Stars Karina Smirnoff and Doug Flutie are pushing themselves out of their comfort zones this week and more than ever. Karina writes all about it at People. You can also watch a rehearsal video below.

I even had to call my mom at one point and tell her, “I’m breathing but I just can’t seem to feel like I’m getting air.” And she told me, “You’re having an anxiety attack.”

It freaked me out a bit, but that just shows you how much this competition means to me and how much I want Dougie to succeed.

Making this week more difficult is the fact that I am also having to learn a style of dance as I’m helping teach Doug.

It took a minute, but now I’ve fallen in love with the style. It’s so strong and demanding and sexy. The hardest part is making sure all the moves and hand gestures are super clean.

The hand gestures are the most important because if we are even a little bit off with them, we could make a gesture that is really offensive.

My stress level finally went down a bit after Friday when we were able to make it through the entire routine for the first time.

Now, I’m super excited to show the judges and the audience just how great Doug has gotten at the routine. It’s going to be a lot of fun.

Jodie Sweetin Writes On Her Injury, Wants To Do P!nk Proud Tonight On DWTS

Jodie Sweetin has written a new blog at People. She talks of how her injury happened this week during rehearsals. She’s dancing tonight, but, not without fighting her nerves. Below is more…

We definitely had to modify a few of the moves, but we actually are attempting to do a lot of them.

It was while we were trying out one of the lifts that we fell, and I instantly knew something was very wrong.

The pain was so intense. I thought, “I’ve broken a bone. That’s it. I’m done in the competition.”

I can handle pain and knew no matter what, my body would heal. What I was really worried about was what it meant for me being able to continue on DWTS.

They took me to the hospital to check me out. I got X-rays, and luckily it’s just a bad bone bruise. The doctor told me that it would be painful if I wasn’t careful, but I was allowed to return to rehearsal.

I definitely was really nervous to get back in the rehearsal room. Even before my injury, we were only able to rehearse the dance a couple of times the full way through each day because of the physical strain it was putting on our bodies. But now that I was injured, we had to be even more careful.

The doctor wasn’t lying, it does hurt. But if I’m careful not to step on it a certain way, I can get through the routine just fine.

Monday nights are always stressful, but I definitely am going into tonight with extra nerves. I want to make sure we do a great job with the routine, but more importantly I have to be careful I don’t injure myself more and jeopardize my chance at continuing to compete.

I’m not ready for this journey to be over, and I hope I do Pink proud tonight.
