Carrie Anne Inaba Writes On DWTS Week 6, Leona Lewis In Audience Three Times This Season
Carrie Ann Inaba has written about Dancing With The Stars Week 6 at Access Hollywood. Wanya and Lindsay was her favorite this week. She gives advise to all the couples. She also talks on who was in the audience and more. Interesting for what she said on Leona Lewis. We better put her on our Rumor/Watch list.
ETA: According to a few fans in comments (thanks, Guys), Leona is dating Dennis Jauch (one of my new favorite dancers on the troupe). So, that may be why she’s been seen in the audience so much.
On a side note, I’ve seen Leona Lewis in the ballroom three times this season. I wonder if she is considering being a contestant on the show. Last night the audience was filled with fun folks. Michael Sam was in the house, Marissa Jaret Winokur an Lance Bass and Joey Fatone from *NSYNC all came for famous dances night. Famous Dance Night at DWTS can be a challenge because when you reenact an iconic dance, you are stepping into some very large shoes to fill. And last night’s dances were not easy dances to reenact. I would say the most difficult ones were, Michael Jackson’s “Bad,” choreographed by Jeffrey Daniels, Janet Jackson’s “Nasty,” choreographed by Paula Abdul, and Pink’s “Try,” choreographed by RJ Durell and Nick Florez. Because these dances were music videos, they were created to specifically highlight the singer’s unique style. They weren’t only about great dancing. The chore of the DWTS choreographer was to find a way to recreate these dances with their nonprofessional dancer and highlight what is great about them without losing what was great about the original. Once again, just a quick shout out to all the dancers who choreograph these routines every week.
Wanya and Lindsay were my favorite this week. That number was way too cool for school and has anyone noticed how thin Wanya is getting? He’s lost so much weight and he’s getting even better as he thins out. The choreography was incredible and really cool and innovative. They reminded us of the original performance with the intro but Lindsay and Wanya took it to a new level and owned that dance. They owned the night as far as I’m concerned. And Bruno agreed. Antonio came back with a bang… it was fun to see those feet in action. His Jive was very well suited for his athleticism. When he did those shuffles the beginning, his feel barely touched the ground. And that performance closed the night with a bang. I’m proud of him for what he taught us all about teamwork with his discussion with Sharna, but anyone who knows Sharna knows she’s 100% behind him and with him for the long haul. She’s a dedicated partner and he has nothing to worry about. But I will say that I (and the whole ballroom) were deeply moved by his teamwork speech. Go Steeler Nation.
Can’t wait for next week! Double Elimination. These couples better work hard this week and give us their best, because this season the competition is fierce. There is no consistent front-runner. It’s going to be a close race all the way to the end!
More at Access Hollywood including some cool behind the scenes photos.
Leona Lewis is dating Trouoe member Dennis Jauch so that’s why she’s there.
I find myself usually agreeing with what Carrie Ann says in her blog. I feel like it’s usually totally different from what she says during the show.. What she said about Ginger not selling the character was spot on.
I’d love to see Leona Lewis compete! I’m guessing, however, the main reason she has been in the audience so much is because she’s dating troupe member Dennis Jauch. But maybe being in the audience and seeing everyone dance would inspire her to do the same next season 🙂
Cool, I didn’t realize Leona was dating Dennis. I’ll add that to the post. Thanks Guys.x
I’m going to ask as stupid question about ratings/viewers. It must be possible for people who track that to see what regions of the country are turning in in big numbers? Otherwise I am completely baffled by Tom, CAI, etc etc pushing steelers nation at the huge risk of losing some amazing partnerships to keep him in the running.
Yeah, Jess, they can see all that info I’m sure. They also probably have all kinds of other metrics they can see, such as votes, fan mail and focus groups (or something similar)…and they probably look at media, social media, video views, etc. I’ve always said they don’t much care who wins (until they started touring and that seemed to change) but they certainly have preferences in who sticks around a long time.
I asked on another post if he was ballroom trained and guess what? His parents was a 3 times World Champion in Ballroom and he was placed in the top 5 place in the German Ballroom Nationals and a hip hop World Champion. No wonder his move was more precise and sharper than Alan and Shannon during Wanya and Lindsay Jazz. Can you tell I watch it on repeat?. DWTS need to keep an eye on him and keep him. He’s tall and good looking. A good candidate for Tony Dovolani replacement 😀 I honestly want to see more of him especially with ballroom dance and his ability to choreograph.
Thanks PH, maybe the Pittsburgh tv market has really has lit up and they feel they need him to make it til the end no matter what. It’s probably not that often that they get a celeb with such a specific geographic area, only football players that have been with/are strongly identified with one team. I know the show in general is just following a general trend of network tv, plus an aging show, but with the numbers now like 1.6 in demo and less than 11 million viewers on some weeks, maybe they feel like they are barely holding on and that market share matters more than it ever has?
Her comments about Antonio and his moving speech made me sick. Such an agenda. If they keep pushing him while others go home, I am really done with this show. It’s torturous enough to watch without Derek.
Sorry I deleted my first setence and “he” means Dennis Jauch but I think everyone know who I’m talking about 🙂
Thiana, I love Dennis too! His moves are strong and sharp. I love the passion in his dancing too. I hope they keep him around.
I think that dennis is the cutest one! Hehehehe. But enjoying the troupe so far well the guys! I wish we had two ethnic girl dancers instead of hayley or jenna.
Just got a chance to read the whole post. Thanks for putting it up once again!
I hate that CAI is selling the team Boomin’ comeback and how Antonio did an amazing speech and performance. Really? I’ll believe it when I see energy, enthusiasm, and technique without a huge set, props, and troupers.
Also, it’s funny how the judges took Nyle’s comment as cocky or self indulgent. I took it completely the opposite way. I thought Nyle was looking up to Val in saying he strives to be like him and that’s why he (Val) is his competition and that Nyle didn’t want to compare himself to any other contestant.
Also, these seeds of doubt about Paige being eliminated next week is really scaring me. First the 10 (which I think was ucalled for and by LEN?! Come on…), and then jeapordy, and now a jive…giving her the chance to go out with a bang and a perfect 30. ?
Thy stomach…it turns in fear.
I really think CAI is the judge I like the less, specially this season. Her comments are so uncomfortable to hear not because I may disagree, but because they just don’t make sense…
