Good Morning America And Bindi Irwin Behind The Scenes Of The Dancing With The Stars Finale
Bindi Irwin and Good Morning America went behind the scenes of the cast getting ready for the Dancing With The Stars Finale Sunday. This is fun and let’s hope Ginger is ok. Thanks to @Idolxfacto21 for recording.
The little clip I saw of Mark and P aige’s freestyle was underwhelming. I don’t see that routine winning them any votes from the uncommitted voters. Unless the rest of the routine is very different, I think Mark may have dropped the ball here. Nyle and Peta’s, in contrast, looked like it might just grab the audience’s attention.
I wouldn’t judge Mark’s freestyle from the little bit we see in the GMA preview. Wait until you see it in full before writing it off as Mark (like Derek) is a master at creativity and more. Mark also has a twinkle in his eye and is happy in this preview which is very interesting to see in my opinion.
It’s true that the rest of the dance could be very different. But I have the feeling that in this dance Mark may be trying to capture P aige’s journey this season to connect with her feminine side. Personally, I’m not a fan of contemporary routines that border on the balletic. The only contemporary routine that I’ve ever really liked (and it’s probably my favorite dance ever on DWTS) is Derek and Kelly’s finale dance.
I should also add that I’ve enjoyed every dance Paige has done this season, so my expectations may be too high for her and Mark to meet them. In contrast, my expectations for the other two couples are quite low since I generally do not have much respect for Peta’s and Val’s choreography skills.
Well, when you put two people just moving around next to a shot of two people moving around WITH A PIANO IN THE BACKGROUND THAT LOOKS LIKE IT’S ON FIRE, it’s no surprise that the first two are going to look meh.
I totally trust Mark to do a freestyle worthy of being labeled a freestyle. He has been showcasing Paige as a star every week; there’s no reason to think he would “drop the ball” now. At the dinner on Saturday night, Derek was asked his advice on winning DWTS. He said to trust your instincts, which is a perfect description of how Mark arrived at this song for the freestyle. With BC singing, I think it’s going to be great.
@Suzy, I so agree. We can’t judge it from a 5 sec preview clip.. I have no doubt that Mark is going to come up with something amazing. The thing I like is it’s just going to be them.. no props or anything. just two people dancing and telling a beautiful story.
Bindi asked a very good question
What will they do if Ginger’s injury acts up during the dance?
Note he basically blows off the question by saying they’ll get through it. I know it’s common to push through injuries when you’re a professional dancer, and she’ll probably be fine, but seriously he has no back up plan if something were to happen? I really used to like Val but in the last year it’s become blatantly obvious that his # 1 priority is himself not his partner.
You’re basing your opinion, Iris, on a little clip from GMA where they could have been marking the routine. Mistake.
Instead of relying on your “feeling” to prejudge a dance, why don’t you try waiting until you actually SEE the dance.
Narice Since Val has publicly stated that he’s supporting Nyle for the win, Ginger’s injury might actually help to keep their scores down, which will help Nyle, and so is not of great concern.
I guess I look at the Val comment differently. He was just expressing how much he likes Nyle. What’s wrong with that? I just don’t get it? I’m not a Val fan, but,I don’t see anything wrong with him saying he supports Nyle and Peta. It’s like in my tennis days. My best friend at the time was on the team too. I gave my full support to her and voiced it at the time. It didn’t mean I wanted to lose and that I didn’t care if I won, etc.
Man, I couldn’t agree more with trusting Mark with a freestyle. I have loved all of them and this time will be no different.
I agree Vogue.. the Mario freestyle he did with Sadie was epic. but each of his stars go on their own journey. With Paige, it’s looking like he wants to bring out the emotion in her and strip it down for her to be completely vulnerable this time. We’ve seen her do the high energy, big dances and now it’s just time to leave it all out on the floor but I know he’s going to have a story behind it and some creative little nuances.
I couldn’t agree more, Tina!
Vogue, I completely agree with you #10, completely!! I don’t follow him in any way at all now so I don’t know what he said but if some little thing was taken out of context and it keeps getting harped on here by a few, it starts to sound like a truth…
Why wouldn’t they be super impressed with Nyle and like him very much, I’m sure Val has gotten quite close to him a long with Peta and Maks. Doesn’t mean AT ALL that he would throw the competition at his partners expense.
I have confidence that Mark will create a freestyle that suits Paige. How the judges and viewers react to it is something they have very little control over. I just hope the performance goes beautifully and they’re happy with it.
Jess Val said, “I am rooting for him to win.”
Jess Since I suppose you’re referring to me as one of the few who keeps harping on what Val said, I have to say I think it would have been worthwhile to actually listen to the interview before alleging that some little thing was being taken out of context. When I first read someone else claiming what Val said, I thought just like you did, couldn’t imagine he said it, thought someone was exaggerating. Then I listened to the interview, and Val said straight out, “I’m rooting for him to win.” This is not something that is now sounding “like a truth” because someone keeps repeating it. It is what he said.
Honestly, I wish GMA would give it a REST! The continued pimping of (injured) Ginger & the length of time devoted to her many clips was sickening! It also doesn’t surprise me that Val plans to somehow ‘get through their dance’ regardless if she can handle it, he certainly has experience powering his partners through injuries! Meanwhile Paige is barely given a minute or two or airtime…
I hope Paige & Mark absolutely slay their routines tonight & the viewing public takes notice & votes accordingly!
OK, thanks Suzy. I don’t care for him enough to go find it and listen, sorry I insulted you.
Talia Favia (see her Instagram)choreographed Nyle’s Freestyle by herself so it’s not even Peta’s choreo.
Nyle’s freestyle looks good, as I expected, but Peta didn’t choreograph it, also as I expected. A choreographer called Talia Favia did. You can go to her IG and see a post about this dance.
I have mixed feelings about pros getting outside help… I’m ok with pros having someone else come in and HELP choreograph, collaborate on a routine, but I don’t like it when they ask someone else to choreograph an entire routine FOR them, the pro has no part in it, they just get the finished product, learn it and teach the contestant… It’s happened earlier this season with Val and Ginger…
I have no doubt Nyle’s FS will be emotional, pull at the viewers heartstrings and show him at his best… And it might get them the win. But I have so much more respect for people like Mark, Derek, Allison, who do all of their work and are always looking to grow, always studying, always improving themselves, always taking risks, and even if they do get help, you’ll still be able to see their touches, their signature on the dance…
All in all Nyle and Peta have had an amazing season. As well as Paige and Mark.
I’m rooting for Paige and Mark because I feel like he’s so underestimated on this show, he deserves it. But I can also see Nyle winning, he’s a great person and very inspiring.
Could they have made the Paige & Mark section of this any shorter? Even the answer to Bindi’s 1 question for them is chopped!
Suzy #9 Maybe it is no concern of his whether or not they win but seems to me as Ginger’s partner Val should first of all be looking out for her health and safety, and while I’m not voting for them I do think he should be thinking of what she can realistically do and at least attempting to win. He owes that to her and all the people who got them to the finals. Honestly though he seemed to have checked out weeks ago. He seems bored with the whole DWTS thing. Maybe he needs to take a season off?
I would just like to say that I appreciate Vogue’s open mind. Irrespective of the outcome, I just hope that all of the couples dance as well as they can so that they can all feel good about their effort.
Aww thanks Jean! 😉
