Strictly Come Dancing Kristina Rihanoff And DWTS Gleb Savchenko To Do West End Show In December

Heads up, Dancing With The Stars and Strictly Come Dancing Fans. According to Hello Magazine, Kristina Rihanoff announced a “one day only” West End stage show with Gleb Savchenko which will take place in December. As the Strictly Come Dancing fans know, Kristina just had a baby a few months ago. Well, she’s eager to get back in shape and dance. Here are some details. Note how the idea came from Gleb’s wife, Elena Samodanova.

The lavish show is the brainchild of TV dance show judge and Gleb’s wife, Elena Samodanova, and it will give fans (young and old alike) a chance to get up close and personal with two of their favourite Strictly stars.

“We’re going to have audience participation,” Kristina says excitedly. “People can come on stage and dance with us and we’ll have a Q&A so people can ask any questions they have. We want to give back to our fans who have been so supportive.”

The exciting performances will give British fans of the show, still mourning the loss of hunky Gleb, a chance to see him in person, hot from the set of the American show Dancing With the Stars where he’s currently working.

“I know the fans are missing Gleb,” Kristina says, laughing. “So this is a chance for them to catch up with him! He was truly embraced by the British fans last year.”

Tickets for the performances will be available from 10am on Thursday, 22 September, via telephone (0203 725 7060) or online at rutlive.co.uk/event/one-more-dance/. For more information visit onemoredance.london or adelphi.theatre. Meet and greet packages are available.

More at Hello Magazine. Oh, how I’d love to go to the UK in December.

Maks Chmerkovksiy Writes On DWTS Week 2, A Sneak Peek Into What’s Planned For Week 3

Maks Chmerkovksiy has written a new blog at Entertainment Weekly. He writes of what it was like be “in jeopardy” last night On Dancing With The Stars. He also writes on the pro numbers and what’s planned for next week. Note that whoever has the highest score (next week) will have immunity from elimination. Here is more…

Going forward, I think we have some issues that we will overcome, and I am also learning what does and doesn’t work. All I’m trying to do is make sure she doesn’t trip, or isn’t too nervous, and make sure she feels secure in the performance come Monday night. My job with Amber is to pace and maintain and make sure she’s having fun.

On the Trio dance and group routines from episode 3…

Well first, I was very flattered that myself, Cheryl [Burke], and Derek [Hough] were given the spotlight in that way. It was definitely cool, I liked it. Who doesn’t like praise?

But I really love doing the group numbers, and it’s definitely a big part of why I came back to the show. I just want to dance and continue to be active in this way, so I’m very happy to be able to do that.

It is a lot, though. I must say, the pro dances for this show are unbelievably difficult in terms of physical and mental activity at the same time. I need to give credit where it’s due, to our choreographer Mandy Moore. She’s someone I’ve known for a very long time. It’s a stressful f—ing production, and it’s a lot to take on. You have to be a brave person to do it.

For example, in the number at the top of the second hour that was very colorful, when we all kind of looked like Skittles (which is very funny considering this week, I’d like to take a picture and send THAT to the Republican candidate, because that would be an appropriate Skittles reference), Mandy was there to make sure everything worked and looked amazing. Having that centralized person has been invaluable to these productions.

My other favorite performances this week…

I think Val [Chmerkovskiy] and Laurie [Hernandez] were great again. I also loved Jana [Kramer] and Gleb [Savchenko] and Marilu [Henner] and Derek [Hough]. They all had excellent routines.

A sneak peak at next week…

Next week will be the presidential debates, and we will only have an hour-long show. So, the format will be different — it’s going to be a face off. They split us into six groups of two pairs, and each pair has the same style of dance. So we’ll each dance, and then we get a score, and whoever has the higher score will have immunity from elimination.

Dancing with the Stars Season 23, Week 3 – Who’s Dancing What…and When? And against who?

So, dance offs. Great potential for some rigging of who the producers would prefer goes home.  Unless they actually let the celebs pick…but that seems unlikely, since Sharna already knows their dance style and they can’t dance against someone who already had that style. Right? One would think so. So, if Sharna/James have Cha Cha, they have to be dancing against someone who hasn’t had Cha Cha yet. The people who HAVE danced Cha Cha? Rick, V.Ice, Calvin and…Laurie. So James won’t be dancing against Laurie, which gives her an easy row to hoe. Unless Laurie gets Jana and Jana absolutely kills it, Laurie will get immunity as expected. I suppose Marilu could beat her…but a 16 year old gymnast against Marilu hardly seems like a fair fight.  But Marilu has a secret weapon that Laurie doesn’t – Derek. Could be interesting.

But where are the points coming from? This past Monday? Or their score on this coming monday? Sounds like a potential clusterf*%k. 🙂

ETA: According to a new Extra interview at Facebook this morning, Babyface and Allison have a jive. ~Vogue

ETA2: Per Maks’ blog, the couples dance the same style and get scores. Highest score of the pair of couples is immune from elimination.

ETA3: Everyone thank Derek for all the info in his blog this week. And he says many of the same things we do here. Interesting how they are predictable pitting Laurie against Marilu.

ETA4: According to ET, Lindsay and Calvin have a Viennese waltz. They are dancing against Sasha and Terra who have the same style of dance as you know. Calvin and Lindsay will be dancing to ‘It’s a Woman’s World.’ ~Vogue

ETA5: James and Sharna’s song is “Big Trouble” by Outasight. Thanks to @MaddiRoseL for letting us know.

ETA6: According to a new radio interview, Maureen and Artem have a Salsa.

ETA7: According to the ABC Press Release, below are the faceoffs with the songs and dance styles. Sounds like a bit of a repeat of the last results show, with the exception of the performances.

Florida Georgia Line, CMA Award winners for Vocal Duo of the Year, will perform their number one hits “Cruise” and “H.O.L.Y.,” and Fitz and The Tantrums will perform “HandClap,” from their self-titled album. Viewers will also have a chance to see the couples’ dances from the previous night one more time. The show will be packed with never-before-seen footage, including extended training packages, exclusive interviews with the couples and judges, and a glimpse of what’s to come on week four of “Dancing with the Stars.”

ETA8: Here’s the running order per George Pennachio. Interesting. Kind of appears that the people we expect to win are dancing FIRST in the dance off. I’ll be curious to see if this holds up.

Babyface: 1-800-868-3402 (Song: “Great Gosh A’Mighty” by Little Richard)

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)
