Private Members Area – DWTS Season 23 Season Week 3 Discussion
It’s time again for Dancing with the Stars chatter! You know the deal. Share your thoughts and insights on this week’s episode of Dancing with the Stars. If you’re not a Pure DWTS Insider yet, you can do so here. If you are, then I look forward to the discussion in the comments.
My apologies on getting this up late. I got distracted by two people getting on stage and flapping their jaws tonight. Plus, I started my Fall ultimate frisbee league. Anyway…
What did you think of tonight’s performances? Did they get the immunities correct? Should someone else have gotten immunity that didn’t? Did you like the face-offs and the compressed show?
How about having Tom just host the whole thing with Erin gone (My condolences Erin and family)? Any other things that stand out? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
P.S. Last week I didn’t start a new thread for the 2nd episode that week. Should I start one tomorrow or we can just continue to use this one? Let me know if you have a preference.
I think it’s fine keeping this thread for both last night and tonight’s episode but I defer to the populous!
So the dance off wasn’t as terrible as I thought it would be. It was kind of nice in a way to just get to the dance and not mess about, as Len would say. As Derek mentioned, it’s amazing when you realize that half the show is taken up by the judges talking. I would have liked to hear some critique though for their scores.
I thought Amber did better than her score. I’m not sure why they keep underscoring her. I’m not saying she should be getting 9s but I think some 7s should be there. It does continue to surprise me how timid she is when dancing — I didn’t expect that of her. I threw her my votes this week.
I’m still not on the Laurie wagon. Girl is very good for sure, but she doesn’t have a whole lot of competition as far as skill level. Don’t get me wrong, I love Hinch, Calvin, and Marilu and think they have some really great technique, but Laurie is at a different level. That being said, in the grand scheme of the show I wouldn’t say she’s the best gymnast the show has ever had like Aly Raisman wants us to think. I think Val/producers made an effort to make the audience and judges focus on her feet and body instead of her face and personality of the dance.
