Mark Ballas Makes Broadway Debut In ‘Jersey Boys’, HQ Photos Say It All!
Last night, Mark Ballas began his part on Broadway’s “Jersey Boys”. The photos below say it all. If you’d like to see more, see Getty Images. Shirley Ballas posted photos at her Facebook page as well. She described Mark as “amazing” and “brilliant”. She “cried” and “jumped for joy”. I am crying just writing this post up. Go Mark!! We are so proud of you! For tickets, see this link. If any of you see the show and would like to blog about it, share pics, or videos, write to our contact link.
This is so awesome. Thrilled for Mark?
December. I wonder if I can get an interview with Mark while I’m there.
That would be so awesome, John. Go for it! (I can get on the site now)
This world knew you would be a hit! Now the whole world knows! Happy for you! Miss you! xxoo
I have to try and see this. I’m thrilled for him!
This is exactly what I needed today after my morning (long story short: I love in the Bronx and they are closing the only Barnes and noble in the Bronx at the end of December and there’s is nothing we can do about it according to elected officials and news channels….ugh). Anyways, my cousin has tickets to see this actually and is going to try to get some pics of he can get to the side door at the end of the show….and get me an autograph lol.
I’m so sorry, Vin. I hope you can get an autograph by Mark though. That would be so cool.
I am so thrilled for Mark. What a dream come true for him, and so deserving of a fine young man and wonderful talent. Miss his creative choreography on DWTS, but hope this is just the beginning of a fabulous career in theater for him. So happy for you, Mark.
Well done, Mark!!! Great pictures of him and love the one with BC.
Kudos to Mark! What a proud mother Shirley must be right now.
Does anyone know if Mark is the first DWTS pro to be in a Broadway show like Jersey Boys?
A lot of them have done the various ‘Burn The Floor’ editions, including Broadway, and there was a show called ‘Forever Tango’ with Maks and Karina, with a bunch of other dancers, too. Both Mark and Derek have done at least a couple of West End productions, plus touring productions. Derek was the original Ren in “Footloose: The Musical” on the West End (England’s equivalent to Broadway), and toured it for a year, and Mark also did a couple of shows, including the lead role in ‘Copacabana’…. They seem to be the only two who have done non-dance specific, singing musicals like ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ and ‘Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story’…
I am so happy for Mark and he looks so good performing. Love the pic of him and BJ. Great pictures. He deserves this so much..
Yay! So happy for Mark. I really hope people who get to go see him take up your offer to do a blog post here Vogue!
Bravo Mark! So happy for such a deserving and multi-talented young man!
Thanks, Laurie R! Wow, so much experience. Derek and Mark should create their own Broadway show one day. ?
Derek’s New York Spring Spectacular, while not *technically* Broadway to NYCers, was also non-dance specific (for him and Laura, anyway) although he did some dancing in it. His singing was why I kept going back. Yummy voice. And Derek actually won an award for Footloose – best newcomer I think it was. Interestingly, in Jesus Christ Superstar, Derek was Jesus and Mark was Judas – if I remember the story correctly. 🙂 But that’s NOT the reason that I keep telling Derek’s fans he ain’t Jesus. 😉
I keep hoping that Juliette on Nashville is pregnant so that Noah West (Derek) has a reason to be on more often. 🙂
Yeah – I liked Noah with Juliette and it’d be cool for that relationship to happen. It’ll be interesting to see Julianne doing the choir director stint coming up on ‘Speechless’. I was looking for the name of the show she’ll be doing and saw that she guested on ‘Nashville’ too! Neat!
Julianne did?? Did she do a cameo as herself, because I don’t remember that…
Derek looked absolutely breathtaking in his last stint as Noah – when in bed with Juliette. Lord have mercy. I like Jonathan Jackson a lot, but Juliette should have picked Noah. 🙂
I don’t remember it, either, PH, but it was listed on imdb or somewhere – 2014 it said. Of course, I’d list Julianne along with Derek and Mark as doing a bunch of non-dancing acting…
Oh, how I soooo want more Noah West! 😀
