Oh this week is just crazy becuase they can dance and yet nothing has me excited or going I want to see that again. Judge rinder and oksana had their best dance in my opinion but his dance thus far Is the only one that really stood out to me. I’d give it an 8. I love Lesley but this was brutal for me becuase she did everything asked but Anton wasn’t really on his game with this one. I’d give it a 6. Greg and Natalie….that was bad. I’m sorry those 7s were overscore for sure. I would have given that a 5. Ansastacia and gorka are good together….if Brendan is ill for next week I wouldn’t mind this pairing. Her best dance yet but the beginning was not as strong as the second half. I’d still give that a 7. Louise and Kevin are great together on the dance floor but this week was my least fav from them becuase it was boring. I’d give it a 8. Ed and Katya….Love him but my gosh was Craig right on this one but the 2 was overkill so I’d give it a 5. Just time to go ed 🙁 . Ore and Joanne were good but I don’t get the 9s. Daisy and aliaz were good but the 8s were pretty spot on I’d say. Something about that dance was a bit annoying though.
Danny and oti were good but I agreed with the 8. Again, something about that dance annoyed me.
Danny and oti were good but I agreed with the 8. Again, something about that dance annoyed me. Claudia and A.J….finally something that has excited me! That I would watch all day. I’d give it a 9.
Dang the Danny stuff went through twice….sorry about that 🙁
Well, there’s bound to be a lackluster week once in a while, and this one definitely qualified. And the weirdness of the season continues with Brendan out sick and Anastacia dancing with Gorka followed by the late scratch of Laura/Giovanni because of Laura’s ankle.
The Best:
Danny/Oti: (Best dance of the night) Still solidly behind this couple. Excellent rumba from a male celeb. Danny got the hip action but kept his dancing masculine. Choreo was sensual without being raunchy. Wasn’t continuously fluid as rumba should be so I was OK with the scores; but the judges are definitely nit-picking him. Hope that helps (rather than hurts him) with the public.
Louise/Kevin: A romantic rather than sensual rumba, and it worked for me. As always Louise danced beautifully. I like Kevin’s rumbas because they work for the type of celeb he gets (he doesn’t try to do sexy with them). That said, as the weeks go by I worry more about these two, and agree with Len. They have to bring more “wow” because while I really like Louise, she’s at risk of becoming forgetable to many viewers.
Anastacia/Gorka: Sorry Brendan’s sick but glad to see Gorka again. Think it was great Anastacia danced with Gorka for the show. Always think it’s a mistake to switch pros on a celeb on show night after they’ve rehearsed all week with the sub. Definitely Anastacia’s best dance. These two are a much better *physical* match than Anastacia/Brendan. Wouldn’t hurt my feelings if Brendan stayed out another week. Me like Gorka!!!
The Worst:
Ed/Katya: Sorry but that was bloody awful. In my mind Craig’s 2 was justified. I think Ed gave his best 2 weeks ago, and it’s time for him to go. Still, I expect viewers to keep him on a couple more weeks.
Greg/Natalie: I had a feeling he’d suck at cha-cha, and he did. Greg’s a hard worker but not a natural dancer. He’s better at ballroom than Latin. I cringe at the very thought of him doing rumba or samba.
The Rest:
Claudia/AJ: Claudia is growing as a dancer, but this week was a bit tough. She had all the moves, but there were just too many of them and the music was too fast for a non-pro to fit them all in. AJ’s lack of experience as a pro showed bigtime. He should have scaled back his choreo.
Ore/Joanne: Overscored by every single judge. This was definitely not worth more than an 8. Craig is the worse offender here. How could he give this waltz a 9 when he gave Ore’s far better jive a 9 last week? It was a good solid waltz, nothing more.
Daisy/Aljaz: Started out fabulous. They pulled off the white gloves/shoes in-the-dark intro beautifully, but it slipped after that. I was surprised at Daisy’s lack of energy. Aljaz did a good job not over-dancing her.
Robert/Oksana: Robert is improving each week, and Jive suits his rather OTT persona very well. Thankfully, he’s a good enough dancer to make his performances more than just a comedy routine. The energy and timing was good, but his kicks and flicks occasionally went a bit astray. The 6 from Craig was low.
Lesley/Anton: This was weak. She looked like a turtle! Ballroom frame just doesn’t suit her. She’s in great shape for her age, but she doesn’t have enough upper-body strength to maintain her frame and the height difference between her and Anton just makes it worse.
Danny and Oti were my favorite dance of the night, even though I’m not the biggest fan of Rumbas. I’m surprised it didn’t get a 10 since I thought it was stronger than James/Sharna’s Rumba this week.
I don’t think Ore’s Waltz should’ve gotten a higher score than his American Smooth. But I hope to see him get better and get to the finals.
Agree completely with Amanda. Thought Danny was better than Ore this week and Ore definitely has better dances. He’s still good anyway. Personally I prefer Danny to win the series but I can see it going either way.
Somehow I didn’t really enjoy Judge Rinder as a lot of other people seemed to.
I think the DO will include any combination of the following: Greg, Lesley, Rinder and Anastacia. The last might be saved by viewers liking her with Gorka (and I do too, no offense to Brendan).
As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I’ve just started back at uni, studying Applied Maths (why?) so time is a luxury I really miss having, but I’ve been trying to keep up with the show (although It Takes Two is no longer an option. ) Since this is my reading week and all I’ve got is a 20-page Maths assignment, 2 pages on mapping and modelling zombie swarms (my modelling lecturer has a strange sense of humour) and a rather nasty report on nitrate levels in Scottish farms to occupy my time (halfway through semester 1 of 8, which I quite frightening) I thought I’d come here and spew some opinions, since I know how much everyone cares what I think.
Rankings of my favourite couples still in the competition, based on everything from personality to dances to costumes.
1) Daisy and Aljaz- Welcome to my unhealthy attachment to a female celeb of the year. I think she’s awesome! Her performance skills are absolutely through the roof, I think she’s gorgeous and she really can move that body of hers. Her Charleston was my favourite dance of last night by a mile, and I was pissed not to see 9s. Occasional incomplete cross and swivel I’ll grant you, but this was a Sophie Ellis-Bextor level of joy, overall technique and performance in a Charleston, and Sophie’s Charleston is one of my all-time favourite dances. Add to that a unique, innovative and risky-as-hell concept from Aljaz and this becomes my favourite dance I’ve seen in quite some time. I really hope other people are loving her as much as I am.
2) Danny and Oti- I was so hoping Oti would get someone with some degree of skill this year because last year made me think that she has some very good things to show and this year she’s proved me absolutely right. Yes, Danny is a gift to her
Sorry, accidentally hit submit way too soon on that so I’ll start from where I left off.
On the other hand, Danny is an absolute gift to any pro. He may be the most talented male to ever be on the show, certainly since fellow Hollyoaks star Ricky Whittle, and he’s pulling out awesome routines weak after week. Last night’s Rumba was glorious and I think complaints about him being too masculine were weird, and I think a reason to keep him trailing Ore when his dancing is on another level to my eyes.
3) Ore and Joanne- Not that Ore is bad, not by a long way, in fact he’s among my top 5 male celebs ever on the show. It’s just that after a Jive which I didn’t think was quite up to a 39, although it was a great great effort, this week’s Waltz was far from the best thing on last night’s show. The blubbering is cute for now, he just needs to not keep doing it because an occasional attack of emotion is understandable but it can’t become all he’s known for. Joanne also needs to watch herself because she has the Clifton tendency to go for unique and end up too weird. While last week was her best choreography ever on the show this week I felt it all became a bit much again and I think it did all lose some smoothness on occasion (although in fairness I have to admit that when it was right it was gorgeous.) So yes he is a beautiful dancer and a potential finalist, but while he’s being overrated by the judges I fear I’m never going to love him as much as I’d like to.
Idk what this says about me but mapping and modeling zombie swarms sounds kinda fun lol.
Just found out from my friends who was voted out (didn’t watch yet) and they are on cloud nine Lesley is out but I’m shocked. Ed has nine lives
