Dancing With The Stars Val Chmerkovskiy On Laurie Hernandez’s Maturity And Wisdom
US Weekly posted a chat with Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy about their partnership on Dancing With The Stars. Val was nervous at first to be paired with a teenager, but, Laurie soon proved she was more wise and mature than he realized.
VC: I don’t know what would surprise people about you. When I think about you, I know you’re 16, but you look like you’re 12.
LH: [Laughs.] Thanks?!
VC: No, no, you’re young and innocent and sweet, but you’re also very mature and have a lot of wisdom. I was nervous to be paired up with a teenager.
LH: Because your dances are all spicy? And you have to tone it down, like … 40 notches? [Laughs.]
VC: I just didn’t want to babysit. There are 50-year-old children, and there are 16-year-old adults. You hold yourself accountable.
LH: Val, what do you like best about being my partner?
VC: I’ve enjoyed getting to know you. I know you’re going to be deeply depressed and miss me an awful amount after this.
I have a feeling it will be the other way around. Lots more at US Weekly
I did see that article. Did Val have a growth spurt before this interview?
The interview read like damage control to me. Val in a more favorable light.
Maybe forget his extra curricular activities in the last week in the after hours.
What are you alluding to, Molly? Quit alluding and just SAY it.
I actually don’t think Laurie will miss Val much as Val thinks she will. Maybe she will breathe a sigh of relief but will miss the rest of the cast instead.
I don’t know why Val was worried about being with a teenager – he had one before with Zendaya. Or maybe that’s precisely *why* he was worried…
