New Sharna Burgess DWTS Live Tour Interview, Will She’ll Be Back Next Season?

Broadway World talked with Sharna Burgess about the new Dancing With The Stars tour. They ask her about the best part of taking the show on the road and the dances included in it. They also ask her on Danving With The Stars and if she’ll be back next season. Read below. Is this a confirm? Also, don’t miss a bunch a beautiful new photos of the tour by photographer David Wiza at this link. They are stunning!

3. What’s the best part of taking this show on the road — and what’s the most challenging part for you?

SB: The best part is being able to meet some of our incredible fans face to face, hear how much they love the show and how much it means to them. We have the most amazing and dedicated fans and seeing the smiles on their faces while we perform live is just so fulfilling! The most challenging part is being away from my life for 3 months. I have 2 dogs, my home, other projects that need my attention and being on the road makes it hard to be there for those things.

4. How will you spend the “off season” … and will you be back for the next season of the TV series?

SB: Well, my entire off-season will be rehearsing for the tour or actually being on tour. But I’m hoping to find a couple days of downtime before next season starts.

More at Broadway World.

Rumor: Usher To Dance On Dancing With The Stars Season 24??

Has Usher been cast on Dancing With The Stars Season 24? Sources have told Jasmine Brand that this is “allegedly” true and that he’s already began shooting promos. This would be cool, but, I would take this rumor with a HUGE grain of salt. We’ve never heard on this source before….and I don’t think the show would start shooting promos this early, but, hey?

Usher has allegedly been cast on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars. Sources tell us the 38-year-old singer and actor will be on season 24 of ABC’s hit dancing competition show.

We hear that Usher has already began shooting promos for the show. The network and producers are still working on finalizing other big names for the new season.

La La Land’s Ryan Gosling Calls DWTS Choreographer Mandy Moore “A Wonderful Person And Choreographer”

How many of you have seen the movie “La La Land”…and did you like the dancing? As you know from previous postings, Dancing With The Stars Mandy Moore choreographed the dancing in it. The Observer has a super read about Mandy and how she taught the actors to dance. Ryan Gosling also commented on what it was like to be taught to dance by Mandy. Read on….

Each started with individual lessons at a small studio in Burbank, Calif. – not far from the restaurant where their characters, Mia and Sebastian, first meet onscreen. Moore began with the same basics she would for any new student: connecting movement to music and repeating classic jazz, tap and waltz patterns. Along the way, she worked to build “a general love of dance” in the actors.

“If these people don’t love to dance, they’re going to hate me by the end of this… and I know that can’t be part of this equation,” she said. “They have to love to dance.”

Stone picked up the footwork first, Moore said, then focused on style and delivery. Gosling was the opposite.

“With Ryan, he was like, ‘I don’t know what step you’re doing, but if you give me the style…”’ she said.

“Her job is to kind of see the diamond in the rough,” Gosling said, calling his teacher “a wonderful person and choreographer.”

“She’s very confident she can get it out of you if you’ll stick with her.”

Once they got the basics down, Moore put the stars together and taught them Mia and Sebastian’s moves, which were based in part on preferences the actors showed during their private lessons. For example, a foot-scrape move that Gosling liked became one of Sebastian’s signature steps.

Planning and executing large-scale performances – like the freeway routine – and creating intimate dances that suit real strengths and imaginary characters tapped all aspects of Moore’s talents. The opening scene was “big picture, then work on the details,” she said, “where Ryan and Emma was very detail (first), then get the big picture.”

Moore’s story isn’t unlike Mia’s. Musicals both classic and contemporary – movies like “La La Land” – are what inspired the dancer to leave her small Colorado hometown for Los Angeles after high school.

“It’s super cliche,” Moore said. “I was 18. I had 500 bucks and my suitcase.”

She performed with contemporary dance companies and in film and TV productions before a series of events brought her to “La La Land.” She worked with “Dancing With the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba, who introduced her to “So You Think You Can Dance” creator Nigel Lythgoe. Moore’s work on that show earned her two Emmy nominations and the attention of a “Silver Linings Playbook” producer, who hired her to create the dance Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence perform in that film.

For “La La Land” writer-director Damien Chazelle, the most important thing about the choreography was that it be “as much about character as about bodies moving.”

“What I told Mandy is that in this movie, dancing, singing and acting are all just one thing – there is no separation between them,” Chazelle said. “Ultimately the dancing really emanated from how Ryan and Emma relate to one another.”

See Dancing With The Stars Julianne Hough’s New Home

Would you like to see the inside of Dancing With The Stars Julianne Hough’s new home? If so, you can see some beautiful photos at People. Below she talks on the decor….

Hough is also more interested in the story her decor tells, rather than the of-the-moment trend it might embody.

“I like it when you can’t tell an object’s age, when you don’t know whether it’s brand new or a century old,” she says.

And though the star is no stranger to ginormous gowns, she’s surprisingly more obsessed with home goods than wearable ones. “I’ll browse a furniture store over a clothing store any day,” Hough says. “I appreciate a vase, chair, or table for how much effort went into making it.”

Awesome! I love it. For more, see People. Be sure to pick up the January edition of Better Homes and Garden Magazine to view even more.
