More Dance Hints For Dancing With The Stars Season 24 Week 2

ET Online caught up with Rashad Jennings to ask him about week 2 of Dancing With The Stars. He gives some fun teasers on tonight’s dance with Emma Slater.

“I do have some of my friends coming into town for the show. We’ll prob go grab some sushi, my go-to thing, and then go to this vegan ice cream spot that I just die for, but I’m going to get some rest because I want to be on point for the dance,” Rashad shared. “The judges can give me a birthday gift by giving me a good score. And the people can give me a good gift by voting for me. That’ll be my gift!”

He also gave ET a few details on what to expect from he and his partner, Emma Slater. The two will be dancing the Viennese Waltz to “Suffer” by Charlie Puth, and Rashad says he’s planning to break out his poetry skills — a hobby he picked up during one of his off-seasons — to add a fun element that the show has never seen before.

“I do poetry. My hashtag is #ShadThePoet … so anything with a hashtag that has [my nickname] ‘Shad’ in front of it, it’s a way for people to get to know me personally, outside of being a football player,” he explained. “I take 10 seconds of a song, and in front of it, I put 10 seconds of poetry. So I lead people with my poetry into how I want the music to move them.”

“This week Emma was like, ‘You have a soothing voice when you do that. I want you to narrate the audience, the crowd, everyone [watching] TV into this song.’ So the room is going to be dark, I’m going to be speaking,” he teased. “It’s going to be unique, and hasn’t been done on the show yet. I think this may be one of my favorite dances to do, just because of the song.”

ET also talked with Sharna burgess and Bonner Bolton as well….

“He’s doing very well,” added Sharna, who confirmed that despite reports, she and Bonner are not dating. “Like he said, he connects to this one because of that Texas two-step dance that he’s used to.”

“He’s used to taking a woman’s hand and leading her around a dance floor, which is super rare these days, a man that has the confidence to do that, so it’s actually really fitting in his world,” she continued. “He’s connecting with the steps. We haven’t quite got to putting the romance and the character in there yet, but we’re going to get it.”

So what type of romantic is Bonner in real life? “I’ve tried to keep it genuine and unique, but I used to take girls out on the ranch and show them a good sunset out on the West Texas desert, show them the stars at night,” he gushed. “A little wine and dine.”
